The top trim of the VW Golf is the Golf R which is faster and more trilling than the Golf GTI. You can consider doing a review of the Golf R and compare with a GTI tuned to the 2nd or 3rd stage of tuning.

Mbuguas review on the leg room was judged based on the front passenger seat which was pushed more than normal backwards. As you can see from a side profile, the seat is past the B pillar. Legroom is plenty in this car especially for Mbuguas height

Because like you well said, they are not for daily use, prob from Fri to Sun, they should age very well. Veedubs have exteriors and interiors that hold out very well.

Golf R comes in at a totally different price point too. It’s simply put a GTI that’s seriously tuned up, given all wheel drive and beefed up suspension all from factory. When buying new they are not aimed at the same buyer pocket-wise

I would overwrite GTI configuration to golf r stage 1 tuning..and do after market straight pipe exhaust..thats all u need in this car
