Leeway is definitely in the conversation of greatest hardcore bands of all time. They never made a bad album and should have blown up had they not had legal issues with the record companies inbetween Desparate Measures and Open Mouth Kiss which was years inbetween albums.
I hope folks dig up these old vids and post them. And if any body has stories to tell about those old days way way before COVID. please don't let NYHC be forgotten. We all have these memories. But folk don't know how everybody of every race got along. Hardcore was the music in our head and heart. And wjere has Jenny from the front of the house gone too.
I can’t imagine! - this is a tape recording from 88 and it sounds fucking awesome. Sad Gibbons didn’t come back for the reunions. Eddies having a time getting a guitarist that can fill Gibbons shoes. I’ve seen em a few times with various drummers and guitarists and it’s just not the same energy as it seems they’re concentrating so hard just to play the songs properly. Testament to how technically talented Gibbons and other founding members were as musicians. I never got to see any original Leeway lineup from their albums... except Eddie of course who’s still great!
RIP Eddie Leeway
grainy VHS video and they still sound so fucking good. I saw them live in 1990 and still have a busted nose to show for it.
LEEWAY stands the test of time. NO ONE TODAY can compete!
