Happy New Year!
Time for a special New Year's bonus episode! Here we will take a tour through the entire route starting with Juanita Yard and heading east through the many industries that make the P&B such a fabulous route to operate.
Thanks for all the support in 2016, let's keep the momentum through 2017!

The amount of time and effort in this - just amazing work.
:-)
Even though I'm not a builder, I've enjoyed your videos. It gave me a greater appreciation for the amount of work involved. I'm looking forward to running the route when you release it. Keep up the good work. A terrific route.
Great! Thanks for watching! :-D
Since that route of yours is released, I am watching your old videos for memories. Keep up with really good work AM!
I love how you reply to most of your comments, like me. I think replying to comments on your own video makes viewers happy. :D
I do my best ;-) Glad you guys appreciate it!
0:46 - 0:55 Savage😂the car dosent care.but the route,i could never build something like that.keep up the good work👍🏻
I see after nearly 20 years, they still haven't fixed that.
Crossings that don't cross. Rail/Rail and Rail/Road, neither type is recognized by the game as a crossing.
You have to manually make a working crossing. There is no automatic system when splines cross.
Wow! Very nice tour of the P&B and all of its interchanges there AM. Looks great and definitely looking for more in 2017! Happy New Year everyone!
Thanks bud! Trying to respond to your email today as well.
good god! come back after a long time of work and it looks so different! oh how far this route has come
This is a work of art, it is amazing!
Did u see the car go through the full tanker
Yes. Was out of my control and I didn't have time to re-record the clip so I just left it.
Yes
@@ApproachMedium euuuuihko
Yeah ikr i saw that too i wish that railroad crossing signal could stop that car
You outdid yourself Joe, awesome work on this one!!!
-Shane
Thanks buddy! :-)
you have inspired me to not fix the orginal town trolley bus route to town trolley co. but also re-detail it, maybe not as much as you but looking better than before, happy newyear tom
Happy New Year! Best luck re-detailing your route. It's a lot of fun once you get the hang of it.
This route looks like the best route I’ve ever seen
Wow, the route is looking amazing, keep up the great work!
:-)
Wow no words to say how awesome this route will be. One thing that would be cool is a session that is based on a steam era. Don't consider that until your done but its just an idea. Like I said this route will be something amazing. Keep it comin!!
Yeah I dig it. I haven't done much of anything Steam Era related so that could be pretty fun.
Thanks for the video AP, I love the fact that every industry produce goodies for another one of the same route. Happy new year, I look forward for your next videos.
Thanks, Carlos! Happy New Year. That's my favorite part of this route and what makes it special in my opinion. See you in the next one!
YOUVE BEEN DOING THIS FOR I THINK TONS OF MONTHS WOW SUPERB
Very interesting design. I came from Tom's Trains and Things and I love what I see. So I subscribed right away.
Not having space nor the money for a real model setup I found the simulator way of building a layout amazing. What I know is Train Simulator (I think it's the name, I'm on my phone so can't check the game on my PC) and thought it's a great game it does cost a lot when you want to add all the extra train types to the base game.
I'll check out more of your videos and hope you'll upload new ones soon. 👍😉🇧🇪
Yeah Train Simulator tends to be a bit pricy. Trainz has a ton more quality freeware available and is much easier to use. The learning curve isn't very steep to get the basics going.
Mind blown! Awesome!
MASTERPIECE
Right.. it appears I may have gotten a sense of nostalgia after checking this video out for the first time in a while.
(I came from the latest episode of P&B to see what Grafton originally looked like before)
Nice this route is coming along
Thanks. Can't wait to release it to the public one day.
I kina wonthave to worry bout that. If I want a (I will get it,no doubt) REALLY detailed P&B at that point I will get it. forn now, I just have to worry about switching out Vonney
Got it today, wow!
That one day is HERE
Looks amazing, man.
Thanks!
Lol that bit where you said that your build was embarrassing, was probably better than what i could do anyway! XD
Today I'm installing trainz a new era
This is awesome! I saw some other videos and you did an incredible job!!
:-)
Awesome videos!! I love your intro theme!
Thanks! :-)
Ima Instantly get this once you release it
Great job man! Jeez I wish I had that weather..
Fantastic!
If you're looking for a ton of information on tipples, do a google search for Appalachian Model Railroading, there's lots or articles on tipples, coal hauling and such. One thing that strikes me as that usually at a tipple, the mine itself is miles away and the coal is brought in via a conveyor. The one's you've built with the parking lots and admin offices remind me more of coal processing plants, which receives coals fresh from the tipples. The majority of tipples are on a branch, with a couple of trucks parked for the guys operating the coal chutes that day!
+Blake Blancett Cool! Good to know. I really don't know a lot about them so any info is good info. Thanks for sharing
Great work...
if I'm not mistaken it was an interchange for the NYO&W and the Lehigh line but wasn't on common to see new York central and PRR power there
Good job, learned a lot, I've been waiting for someone to lead the way so to speak. :)
Thank you! Glad you're enjoying. It's so motivating to get comments like this :-)
Great job. Love watching your vids
you don't give me a shout but I love the video man I can not wait
Fantastic job man!!!
Thank you! See you in the next one!
You are a true artist. Don't tell me these are videos you took of the real thing.
Thank you :-D
wow that looks good! (sorry for the late posting, for some reason only came across this now!) The one thing I wanted to mention was it seems like the yard ladders in Alleghany and Grafton are really steep for switching...admittedly I'm guilty of making my yard ladders too long and space hogging. But some of them almost seem like no. 4 switches...and no. 6-8s might be better (if you don't mind the model RR lingo being introduced).
One other minor thing I wanted to mention (but certainly isn't the biggest deal) is that every industry doesn't necessarily "have" to have a destination point for where it's product ships also on the P&B. Now, that's just my own personal design philosophy when I build (or when I did...haven't been able to build for about a year thanks to a move, and as a result not having my gaming computer set up), and obviously you do what you want, not what I'd do! either way, I look forward to seeing this route sometime in the future...and inevitably cramming coal and water towers in so I can run my beloved steam engines--because in my whacked-out head the steam era never died in the trainz universe, lol.
Your route is awesome!
Thank you! It's been a lot of work.
This the best thing I have ever seen! How do you do it!
where can i get the crossings at? ive looked at about 3 trainz sites for them and cant find them
this is very amazing
Thanks!
Haha I've watched this vid 5 times. I was reading the comments and all of the sudden I look up and see the Babcock mine and thought you showed a picture of a real mine ;-)
Maybe after the quarry you can cut it off by having a dead end track long enough to make a relatively large runaround track
Goodness me, you have done really awesome building this route it's so realistic
Thanks a bunch! See you in the next one :-)
Approach Medium shure will, I really love your building and it's really helping me with my creations
Glad to hear! It's comments like this that keep me motivated to continue making these videos.
Approach Medium thanks bud! 🛤
Approach Medium you inspired me to make trainz lets build videos, they aren't as good as yours though
Absolutely amazing👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍and I will give this video a 10 out of 10 good work. keep up the awesome work!!!!!***********************************
Amazing video of your route. I also use TANE to build commuter rail and branch line shuttles. The scenery, counties, yards and route creativity is awesome and inspires me to complete my route in Trainz. Did you use a DEM or created the topography by hand?
Thank you! I created all the topography by hand. That's why some of it so just absolutely terrible. It's not an easy thing to do but I found it's better to use a larger "Brush" to get gentler hills and grades.
Happy New Year man ;)
Thanks, you too!
I think you're referencing Suffern Yard? Its right underneath where I-287 and Route 17 meet. Its an NS yard that has 2 locals originating from it with a road train that goes into it a few times a week. Im not sure about the northbound local, but the southbound local switches out a nabisco plant in Fair Lawn, NJ. It is also the end of NJT's Bergen Line where NJT crews swap ends for the return back to Hoboken.
Yup that's the one :-) Thanks for the info!
Very nice route and with lots of detail, It will be good to see it all done.
For a idea how about you do a cabride ride to one end of the route to the other when it is finished.
+Tom Bore Thanks for watching! Quite a few people have been requesting a cab ride style video. I'll have to come up with something.
I wish i had as much as creativity as you have also i wish i had a powerful pc keep the good work up!!!👍
Nice work
What crossing Signals are you using there?
What's that girder bridge at 4:23? Also, what track do you use?
thnx bro
ur route is just awesome
when r u go in to release it
Rockin! Hoping to release by the summer. Stick around for more updates ;-)
What is that blue grid called on the dls
Yay 2017
Cool splines really looks real with the sand mines and roundhouse i cannot wait for its release is this going to be a payware route for trainz next 2018
great stuff - Matt
Good looking route!
Thanks dude! :-D
How do you make the crossings work?
What’s the name of the building at the steel mill
how do you make smooth grade in TANE
What is the max speed limit on the P&B?
SWEET JEBUS ON A STICK. your map is the best in the whole universe.
:-)
Approach Medium how do you do your cinematics for routes?
what is all the trains that come with trains a new air
There is a yard I saw that NS and NJ operate on that you can see for a split second going into New Jersey I know that the highway starts at route 9 and then become a road idk the name of
A little suggestion, you could make Grafton yard on the site of an old shallow water port and add derelict wharves etc, and make a modern port through a tunnel where large ships can export coal from there. Have a look at Christchurch on Google maps, the cities's old port is located on the Heathcote River estuary near Ferrymead (on the site of the preserved Ferrymead Railway) and the new port is a huge port town (Lyttelton) on the other side of a tunnel in a deepwater harbour. This very New Zealand-ey but food for thought.... Route is coming along beautifully! Thanks from the other side of the world :)
This link may help gis.kiwirail.co.nz/maps/?viewer=levelcrossings
Excellent suggestion! I'll have to consider that when I get that far along the route. Might be years from now lol
has anyone made the hillsboro branchline in Hampshire?
I love your videos
Thank you :-D
Amazing I am currently working on a Chicago and suburban route
Awesome! Love Chicago railroading
Can you make the wilmington nxt route
What roads do you use
The music is killing this video.
Nice one man!
Thanks dude! Means a lot to me that you're watching! I love JR :-D
Is this route available for download, If so how and where can I get it???
Not yet. Hoping to get it out this summer though
What shaders do you use?
Yes it was part of nyow
Men, it's just amazing
Wish someone would do the chisholm trail railroad routes
Can I get this map?
I cross the same crossing at the Adirondacks to
earned yaself a new subscriber :) awesome stuff
w00t! Thanks for the sub!
np :D btw have you ever seen Garrys Mod Train Build? It's an online community with quite a few servers where people gather to build trains layouts cars ships trucks all kinds of stuff :D it's awesome and your videos inspired me to start building a G-Scale layout that will cover a whole map called gm_flatgrass and it will take me an eternity to finish but hey xD thanks for the inspiration
I have not, I'll have to check it out though.
When your done, you should send this to Bombs321 for episode 213 so he can explore it and review the route. But awesome job!
Cool, I'll check it out.
Hey dude, awesome route. At 16:49 how do you get the grid to be on an 'angle'?
I'm not entirely sure to be honest. When I ported the map from TS12 to TANE some of the faulty textures were replaced with that grid. It's actually a texture you can download just like any other.
What’s that route
A lot of coal Mines in south west Pa use a loop instead of a yard.
Can you make a route
Where did u get the signals at 2:01?
Jointedrail.com
COOL REALISTIC AWESOME
is this still in development?
Yup. Check out my other videos
what's the name of track please tell me
It's all "HP Track" I'm not even sure if it's still around though.
How will you distribute this route if it uses scenery content from Jointed Rail?
Well, JR just invited me to join their team, so once we're ready I'll be putting together a content pack to go along with it.
I'm glad they invited you. With your level of detail and knowledge of how the game works, that doesn't surprise me at all that they'd do that.
So the route will be a freeware route?
How did you get it
its the Pennsylvania & Berwind Railroad, he finished rebuilding part of it for Phase 1 and the route can be downloaded for free at JointedRail, there is also a 20 dollar pack of custom content and sessions you can get for the route
0:48 Illuminati confirmed
nice job, there is a place to download P & B Route ????
Not available just yet. Should be available before the end of the month though ;-)
Approach Medium ha ok thank you
Hey man, how does the ai work? Do you use portals to spawn them or do you have a fixed number of sets?
You can use portals or just assign them to trains in driver mode.
Approach Medium do you use so trains to adjust all the different freight cars for new train sets?
You need to add "street running",just sayin, that would be so cool,in a Industrial type setting.
Did they use the Allengheny for unstoppable [2010]
ᏟᏓ ᎢᎻᎬ ᏩᎪᎷᎬᎡ idk
ᏟᏓ ᎢᎻᎬ ᏩᎪᎷᎬᎡ the movie was filmed in Ohio. Plus Allegheny in the P&B is fictional
would you consider buying some CSX gevos?
Trains in Toronto why a weird abreviation
Why don't you add some passenger routes or electrified routes to P&B. : )
