Everything in this song is so good, the drums the guitar the voice of atilla. But the best part is the bass that carries a great importance in the melody, working perfectly with the guitar, I dont get why people in the black metal and especially dsbm community dont utilize the dark and depressive sound that the bass delivers, especially if it is conjoined with the guitar like life eternal is.
@@VincentVegardSvartnecro wrote it, but after the dead death thing, him and hellhammer quit the band for a while, got replaced by varg vikernes, atilla and hellhammer (yeah he came back), so yeah necro wrote it, varg played it
@@6hvhngff7 I don't think that Varg was on the way to play the same bass line of Necrobutcher. He rehearsed, wrote and recorded the album, uncredit for the reason we all know
@@VincentVegardSvart To be honest, I don't remember very well. I duplicated the bass part and for both tracks i used Virtual Mix Rack. Maybe i used TSE BOD for the second track. And maybe i also used Virtual Tape Machines
Thank you, I really appreciate it. As I wrote in the description, shooting this video was a nerve-wracking experience, and I had to move a little away from the original concept. But it was useful. Since then I've learned a couple of new things and, overall, I'm happy with this cover. Thanks again for watching.
yo también soy bajista, pero personalmente toco las canciones de Mayhem con los dedos me ayuda a tener mejor control de las cuerdas, pero debo de admitir que me suena más Vergas con púa. 👍
Unfortunately, I do not speak Spanish, so I will answer in English. I also played the bass with my fingers for a very long time, but at the same time my playing lacked aggressiveness and speed. So I switched to a pick. Although I agree that when you play bass with your fingers, you really feel more control. Grind on🤘
@@Eitrigg Don't take that kind of shit from an account called "Rumham" personally I think you did a fantastic job with this cover. Keep doing what you are doing bro!! 🤘
with many black metal songs if you cant hear the bass then that means, the bass player is doing a great job of staying locked in with the guitar and drums. if the bass player were to get out of sync then, you would hear the bass notes, most of the time a black metal bassist is just adding a lower frequency fill to the guitar, the bass tones in black metal have no punch they just hum, black metal guitars are so thin and empty that any punchy bass tone would over power them, so the bass just adds that lower hum to fill the atmosphere, what makes life eternal interesting is that the bass does not play by the common rules of black metal

Necro created a killer line in this song, good cover btw 🤘🤘
Sorry, no Necrobutcher bass line. He was Varg Vikernes

The best cover, bro! Amazing! 🤘
Wow great tune
Thank you, but i think i just accidentally found the right sound
@@Eitriggwhat amp do you use?
@@VincentVegardSvart I didn't use an amplifier, i was recording with a sound card

Hi. Thank you, such comments are very motivating. Glad you liked it
I'm only about 4:10 into the video and I have to admitt what an incredible bassline cover this is. Excellent tone from that Cort PJ BASS as well.
Thank you. When I shot this video, I didn't expect at all that it would become the most popular on the channel. I guess I was just lucky.
The genious of varg....
All of the bass parts for DMDS were written by Necro. Kristian Vikernes just played them.
@@ulku919 do you know by any chance why varg played the bass instead of necro?

Black metal bass sucks. No talent needed. Heck you don't even have to turn on the amp no use. Cant hear it anyway 😅
Well, idk, dude. Personally, I can hear the bass perfectly in every song on the De Mysteriis Dom Sathanas
