- They are the rehearsals of the group after the suicide of Dead whereas they sought a substitute to him. Lineup is Euronymous (guitar), Hellhammer (drums) and Count Grishnackh (bass).
In no way to take away from how great of a bass line Varg wrote.... But this reversals proves Euronymous was a great guitar player.
proves also that Snorre was a neverending stream of style.
All these dissonant riff was spread by Snorre
True, but doesn't take away from the fact that Euronymous was still great and undoubtedly would've stood on his own without being compared to Snorre. Imagine all the riffs we could've had today if he lived
who played what? are there visual recordings of them playing their parts? how do you know other than word of mouth from people who wanted Euronymous dead? it's not like he can clear up who played what parts.
*also Varg didn't write anything for the album, he was just a stand in for someone else's material. anything Euronymous played proved he was a great guitar player.
@@dEAthlikEstAtic if you've listened to the Thorns/Stigma Diabolicum demos (Gyrmyrk and Trøndertun) you can easily spot his influence on the stronger tracks in this album
i don't want to take away from euros legacy, but snorre really polished off this album, and his guitar playing is far superior to anyone who has been in mayhem.
Life Eternal is the product of mayhem collaborating (snorre+euronymous), but DMDS, Cursed In Eternity, and From the Dark past are pretty much all snorre's writing on the guitar and lyrics.
Damn straight, his basslines in this album are so confusing and complex, for black metal it's pretty amazing.

This is quite good , if anything if it is varg on bass he's killing it and euronomous is basicaly doing his job too, couldhave been good music
