Here's a quick rotation video showing off Reaper's level 100 Standard Opener and 2nd Minute Double Enshroud Burst Window!
What I'm doing here is basically the whatever is written in the Balance!

My GCD timer is 2.49s, which is the optimum skill speed for Reaper. Afaik the 'BIS' now doesn't have that skill speed, so this is more of a demonstration when Savage drops and we have proper gear. I'm actually wearing my almost-bis from Anabaseios lol.
In practice, the rotation is pretty much the same as in EW. If you played Reaper, the only hard thing would be adjusting to the new opener and new buff timing.

Reaper, Viper, Samurai. Still cannot decide what to main! Always stuck in an endless limbo since EW launched, which is even more tricky now that Viper has appeared!
I know right. Doesn’t help that they don’t share gear. But why choose one when you can just be all :)

There's a setting to disable that "Not ready yet" notification everytime you press something.
That thing has stuck with me so long I just feel naked without it 😬

how do you open/toggle on that limit break window?
I’m using Explorer mode, which lets me bring out the training dummy too!
can you do a 10minute version?
I think there’s not much point to extend beyond 2 minutes because you essentially repeat whatever you do all the way until the fight ends. The only exception is the 9th min window, where you hold your gauge to be able to double shroud on the 10th min.
Unfortunately fights don’t go up to 10 minutes at the moment.
I did a blind run of ex2 yesterday and enrage was all the way at 11 minutes, so when you need to hard carry that may still happen!
@@omupenguin my combo break at 6 or 7 minute , could you do a at least 8minute rotation so I can compare mine ? Thanks
I might do one in the future, but not at the moment, as I don’t think there’s much of a difference. If you can elaborate on your issue (here or on the balance) I’m sure someone can help.

HAHA it’s okay man, knowing that you have room for improvement is already a good sign! Do check the balance discord and ask them anything if you need help, i myself asked them for help when researching the rotation!

My ping’s actually pretty bad since I’m in the JP server and playing from outside the country. I really recommend getting the noclippy or xivalexander 3rd party tools just so you can play the game the way the devs intended. It’s just way too clunky to play without them.
@@omupenguin what is the latency you get? because compared to what I get, the video is way faster. Mine ranges from 114 to 164, with a vpn.
@@lunarsuperstaryou literally missed the part about no clippy and xivalexander. Ping doesn’t matter if you have these tools.

I think it's okay! If anything, it makes the enshroud windows feel like there's more of an oomph.

Wish they would have done something about the stupendous deathmark spam. It's such a dumb mechanic and adds nothing to the class.
Do you mean Death’s Design, the debuff we have to keep up? I honestly hated it at first, but only after learning the double enshroud combo have I come to love it, because it opens up how you can optimise your burst windows. It gives the job a bit of complexity when it was sorely needed.
@@omupenguin Yeah. It's just a button you press every now and then that adds nothing to the gameplay of Reaper. No clue what you mean by complexity. Even if it was for that, said complexity could easily be added in a different way, a more meaningful and impactful way.
The way it is now, it's just a slow ability that you press two times in a row every few seconds, that breaks the flow and a different ability that you press every few seconds when being surrounded by enemies. It's legit the only thing that I dislike about Reaper whilst loving everything else and it could be fixed so easily.
Well for one, since it’s the only other button you can press during Enshroud, it’s a tool you use to let your Enshroud CD tick so that you can enshroud immediately after PH in the 2 min window. If it wasn’t there, we’d either just be unable to do a double shroud combo (since enshroud CD is 15s and one whole enshroud window is 8.5s). I can’t say I could’ve figured out how to do a double shroud by myself without knowing about how DD works.
I want to say DD is also a key component of non-standard reaper gameplay, but I don’t know enough about it to confirm. I’ve seen something about DD manipulation but idk anything else.
But ultimately yymv, I’m not here to convince you, and we can have different opinions!

Do you have a tutorial by any chance? I wanna learn that but I'm also having a hard time to read your stuff since for example PH, no clue what that is. My game is not in english, so I prolly know what it is, but dont have a picture infront of me-
PH = Plentiful Harvest, the one that lets you enshroud for free now (used to give you 50 blue gauge)
I do want to do a guide for Reaper eventually, but unfortunately I have other stuff I’m looking to do right now, including preparing for savage week 1 (semi world race???). I highly recommend checking the guides in the balance in the meantime, or looking at another creator’s Reaper guide from Endwalker just to get an idea of how the burst window work.
I might do a video explaining Reaper’s rotation before savage drop, but no guarentees for now. Feel free to ask anything though, I’ll gladly help in whatever way I can!
