Super enjoy the new system idea, it's nice they are giving some stuff to melee! Also this new series you've been doing is super helpful! Thanks for the helpful video MC!
I’ve been loving this on gunblades and pseudo-gunblades like the Quassus and Syam. I’d just like to see another pass on light attacks so there’s a reason to mix up your combos and use each specific move.
Syam with Tennokai stuff is so much fun! I've been running it on my Kullervo, and I'm looking into farming for Dreamer's Wrath for it. Weapons with special Heavy Attack mechanics felt kind of difficult to hybrid light/heavy attack build them, but this fixes all of my problems with it.
Eh. Not impressed, since it seems to just make the original "mash one button over and over, become blender" system become "chance to occasionally do big move, then return to blender." The melee combat needs depth, not one (1) extra button to press in a race to break your melee key/button. If this is a _step_ towards more depth, then fair enough, baby steps. If not, then it just seems like people getting excited over the shallow pool going one centimeter deeper.
I think DE is slowly getting there in baby steps. The New War had a decent fighting system for part of it. And Duviri puts some focus on blocking and parries, but doesn't really have the speed or fluidity that we love in WF. There also needs to be more useful reasons to do combos instead of just smashing attack.
Something you didn't mention is that Tennokai can also be applied to your Exalted weapons too, incentivizing you to make use of their powerful heavy attacks! Valkyr and Baruuk's are especially good since they both hit in a very wide radius all around you. We can't put any arcanes on them, but that's fine, it's not like I wanted to anyways....
I just wish I could get people to stick around to rotation C for Alchemy. Everyone dips after the first round and unlike all the other endless modes, 2 people going to extraction pulls everyone out.
As someone who dips after the first round becuase I have work tomorrow morning and I need to do my daily rep grind and that happens to be on the highest bounty rotation at the moment Yell at DE to either A. Allow you to re-run the bounty by continuing rotations on the endless bounties B. Allow solo extract for these becuase there's no reason why it shouldn't have solo extract already
im loving tennokai but my one gripe with it still has to be that if you heavy attack for tennokai but are sliding or in the air it just acts like a normal heavy attack eating your combo.
I haven’t had that issue, TBH. When I Tennokai in the air, it just does a super-fast heavy slam and doesn’t eat my combo (can’t say anything for the sliding bug, since I rarely slide except for right before a bullet jump).
i know the whole "but why?" is just a gimmick for this series but it makes sense why, ranged gameplay has been 100% the go to option for the meta, meele frames are meant to be a breath of fresh air for meele in general. personally? i think this is a good direction, having frames that specialize in abilites, primaries, secondaries, or meele adds a bunch of ways to play the game, but at the end of the day warframe is a FPS, meele needs big damage in order to be viable.
Tennokai is fun just because they brought back the channelling energy phase-out effect that I missed :) Now I just have to figure out how to get the old miasma effect back
Innodem with influence using argonak is a aoe armor strip room wipe, run viral and electric. Blood rush, weeping wounds, and use 60/60s. Depends for the electric your choice
Presumably, this means a complete re-assessment of melee weapons with unusual heavy attacks - like the Duviri weapons - because you no longer have to build for light or heavy attacks.
This system really gives Melee a lot of extra power, and Tennokai works on exalted melees too. I can See my Baruuk heavy attack build already making great work of Tennokai mods
@@lookalike4805 A large population of players who uses heavy attack will always slot one heavy attack mod anyway, even before Tennokai. Exalted Melees using Tennokai is just an extension to that.
I love the tennokai. Just wish they'd just make it base without needing to put a weapon exilus on. Granted, not all weapons are worth using heavy attacks (i.e dual blades, daggers (not Innodem tho), polearms)

man, I might finally use heavy attacks XD I usually just prefer light attack setups, enjoy messing with the combo's, and hate using Heavy attacks because they drain my Combo counter, I have one Weapon I use heavy attacks on, and it's the Arca Titron Hammer, because you can make a huge boom with the special passive using a 12 count multiplier and a heavy slam, I have 90% HA efficiency (capped my mods actually do more than that by a little) so I only lose a little of my combo counter, but it's basically built around slam damage so it's a really weird build all around (just shits and giggles tbh). I honestly didn't really care anything about Tennokai, but this video is making me reconsider, at least on some weapons, like the increased range one on my hate, which I have a light attack build that hits red crits and does between 500k to a mil or so damage, to periodically throw a heavy attack in there and watch a room explode could be fun, especially if it doesn't cost me anything XD

Great clip, and I just fell in love with the Pennant - previously it was just MR fodder for me. You also made me rethink my Inaros a little bit, I ran Rage instead of Primed Continuity, but then switched them both out for both Eternal War and Negation Swarm, which meant I didn't need Primed Sure Footed. Eternal War just seemed re-castable if Eternal War runs down, as I don't use Inaros' 3, barely ever use his 1, and the 4 expends life which means the subsume is the only thing I really cast using energy. Loved your video, others could learn from it! :)
I have actually gotten more value out of it for exalted weapons than anything else. It is just ridiculous for a Valkyr-hysteria build. Now, if only she had a stance with a better moveset
