Isn't out crossing geckos into other subspecies frowned upon in the breeding industry? I only know that because my friend who's bred leopard geckos in the past was telling me about a couple geckos she was offering to give me as a pet asked me if I was ever planning on breeding them and wouldn't give them to me if I potentially was because it was essentially a "mutt" gecko and it wasn't good to "muddy" pure bloodlines?
Awesome video!!! Missed the last live stream, catching up. I just got my Dream Job. Things are going pretty good right now. My Leo hatchlings are growing fast!
I have a black night, black pearl, charcoal female who is absolutely gorgeous. I came here to see if her gray eyes (dark gray, but transitions into a softer gray closer to the center) was just a common trait of any of her morphs. My other leos all have really dark/black eyes, but I think all three of them are also either snows, eclipses or a combo, making her the odd one out.
Can't wait to see the offspring of that last pairing. Black knights are my favorite with tangs coming in right behind that. A giant black knight would be amazing. Thanks.
Sure it was my first breeding video i made, i showed what it looks like when a female rejects a male! Here is a link to it! :D ua-cam.com/video/fZ6fM8QRYnc/v-deo.html
If you breed a black knight with an albino, would the offsprings be a mixed up with black and white patterns? or they would be either full albino/black knights?
yes but sometimes large geckos and smaller geckos have trouble getting into position and breeding. No body in the hobby knows for sure right now whether Super giant is Dominant, recessive, or line bred yet.
Big fan man thanks for all the great info! I have a giant albino (female) and idk what he is but good looking, purple ish with thick white markings with some blue on head. Fun having these beauties.. they were in bad shape 1 from pet co and other from pet smart had to save them 1 had dislocated arm and both malnourished but both healthy now. But growing up could only get traditional color yellow with black dots. But hoping they beauties will breed! But I would love to see a super Giant mate with a Tangerine... then have that offspring mate with a black night! Giant tangy black night! That would be awesome to see what could be!
Hi! Cool and very educational video. But I have a question, on some geckos, there armpits are very deep. Is that something that i should worry about? 😊
no nothing to worry about at al, im not actually sure the reason but every gecko has em :) feel free to DM me pics on IG if you want me to take a look to make sure its not something else :)
Line bred projects ftw, new breeders should start with line bred, white and yellow, and mack snow. Multiple reasons for this...but great advanced list!
12 qt is standard in America for 1 gecko. In Asia, they use 6 qt sometimes, very small. But I use 12 qt from Walmart. I have a video here of our setup ua-cam.com/video/wl3ahqmg6D0/v-deo.html That being said ive personally witnessed geckos not eat and feel stressed in the 12 qt tub, I move them to the 6 qt and it builds their confidence, makes them feel secure and they begin thriving.
This might sound dumb but I’m am barely doing my research on leopard geckos so why is there an advanced category for leopard geckos aren’t they easy to keep?
Advanced morphs because of price...i made 2 others videos for entry-level less mutation and lower price, and medium mutations and medium price, and this is the most morphs/most expensive prices :) :)
This is a really good breeder that has some top end examples below: facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=598183985429791&set=pb.100057145852912.-2207520000.&type=3
When breeding your Tangerines... how long do you let the babies grow from a Tangerine x Tangerine before you select the ones that are keepers for the next generation breeding? I guess what I am saying is, at what age will their coloring show up to give you an idea of what the adult will be and whether or not they are an improvement over their parents? I've heard most Leo babies look completely different from their adult coloring, is that true as well for Tangerines?
I usually wait 6 months because their colors dont fully pop until then, you could always choose the babies that have the most color right from the start, but waiting is better if u can. Most leo babies either look the same, worse, or better than their parents its all up to odds of the right genes combining in that gecko to give it better looks than the parents or not, similar to human beings, not every sibling looks alike and some siblings inherit better genes than their other siblings.
@@GeekyGeckoCreations Awesome, thank you for the reply. I'm just starting out with Leos but do plan (in the future) to work with Tangerines and am trying to make sure I go into this knowing what to expect when I get to the point of being able to breed some. :)
@@ScottyHunter Tangerines are so awesome, def a great project! :D If you can get a really nice male and female and then the first year you breed them incubate for all females, then in year 2 incubate for all males, select the best male and breed him to all the females and then in year 3 incubate for all females, and keep doing that back and forth to get the ebst and most variation psosible in the shortest time :D
