GIVEAWAY: Foam Brain Games is giving away an Acquisitions Inc PAX East 2023 Limited Edition D20 Set (bit.ly/paxeastd20) as this week's prize. Comment on this video before Nov 15th at 11am for a chance to win.
This episode was far and away my favorite work of Jeremy Crawford's. He absolutely nailed the impossible version's of every character. Genuine emotional responses from the whole table, and from me as a viewer as well.
The structure of the series is excellent. Having each session take place in (essentially) one or two rooms lets the roleplay and character interactions take center stage over exploration. Nothing is lost by increasing the density of the dungeon. No more arguing about which way to go. It never feels boring, even when the players are confused about what to do next. DMs are always ready with a nudge to keep things moving. The plot does not involve 10 minute dialogs by NPCs. The dining room table setup creates a sense of intimacy that is missing from other shows that have big to-dos as part of their production. Brilliant decisions by the team. The collective expertise and knowledge in the room about storytelling as entertainment is demonstrated with each episode. Can’t wait for the next one!
The emotional weight of this episode makes me nostalgic for Dice, Camera, Action. And that ethereal music for the lake is wonderful and I want it. Also, I really hope we can have an extended Accounts Playable at the end of the season where Chris and Jeremy can discuss writing and running the campaign.
Right? That's exactly what I thought! I actually gasped as I realized why that show was so great and why no other came close to it for me for some mysterious reason. AcqInc, the OG series is amazing quality and great fun but I've been missing the emotional torture of DCA.
Whoever said Jeremy doesn’t stand up to Chris needs to watch this one. One of the most powerful episodes of D&D I’ve ever seen, on a par with the best moments of adventure zone balance. Bravo, Jeremy!!
this episode was insanely awesome! my favourite yet. and I hope now Jeremy gets the recognition he deserves as a DM. I love Chris, hes the og after all, but I always felt like a lot of fans didnt give Jeremy a chance and always sorta pushed him into Chris' shadow. But I hope now those fans recognize that Jeremy is a fucking awesome DM. not that he wasnt before this episode. he always did an amazing job. but theres something really satisfying about Jeremy being the one to deliver that emotional blow and creating one of the, in my opinion, most meaningful and soulcrushing scenes in the acq inc games. both Jeremy and Chris are seperate DMs and deserve appreciation for their amazing work and not always be metaphorically pitched against each other by the fans also HUGE props to Jerry for building on that scene and helping creating that emotional impact of his vision. I see a lot of people complain that he interrupts too much and tries to take the wheel too much, and I get it, but if the group is fine with it (and I expect they are or they would discuss it with him backstage), it's not a problem imo. Im also kinda like that when playing dnd without even intending to, until someone tells me to slow down. it's the enthusiasm and excitement of the game, and I think it's kinda nice to see the passion for it. But imo Jerry has an amazing talent for getting a feel for how to improve a scene and make it hit just right. He always delivers great lines, knows where to take it to make the scene and story work, how to keep perfectly in character while also not hindering the others by that (I f.e. once when I was new-ish to the game fucked over my group because I wouldnt help them because it went against my characters convictions, and in hindsight that was a dick move and I shouldve found a way to make it work), and to heighten the impact of scenes. Genuinely all of the cast are amazing not only at playing and cracking jokes but also at convincingly playing their characters, making the game flow right and feel natural, and creating scenes together. I think the whole cast deserves so much love
this episode literally gave all of us player and audience psychic damage, and all we could do is say thank you. this was just so incredible and beautiful! i absolutely love all of this!
Two buds had an idea, took chances, did what they wanted, sacrificed and strived to do things right and now, as their reward, all of these years later, they get to play D&D on the reg for our entertainment and as a marketing avenue to boot. Awesome work!
I feel like Chris and Jeremy are going back and forth trying to outdo each other as DM. And we're reaping all the benefits....each set seems to keep getting better!
I absolutely love Jim’s creativity with spell usage. Especially when he killed the real him dark magic Though they did miss an opportunity to call Bobby’s factory “Zimmeruscheese”
Evelyn's story was a velvet gut-punch that left me vulnerable to Omin's unexpected emotional attack on my heartstrings. Bobbie's story delivered the final blow. Y'all made me cry. 😂
I haven't teared up like that since the end of CR's first campaign( "Sam's Wish"...iykyk.) You all are my absolute favorite D&D content, thank you for existing. 💔💔💔
I know this is a funny show but this episode managed to be deeply meaningfull somehow. That scene with Omin's family was like watching a really good drama that tugs at your heartstrings. Well done Jeremy Crawford. There's a lot of other very cool stuff in this episode but that got to me.
I seldom comment on UA-cam, but this episode/session needs the recognition it so rightly deserves. WOW! What a roller coaster ride of emotional content and like Mike Krahulik said, "Hit me like truck!" I was holding back the tears and then just gave in. Amazing job Jeremy, I salute you good sir.
All the best Dungeon Masters know how to hit their player's right in the feels, just like JCraw did here. That gut wrench feeling is sooo good, and yet sooo bad
I once read the argument that "happy people dont go on dangerous adventures that will likely get them killed" and I think thats a pretty good argument for why everyone in dnd parties always has the most tragic backstories and never gets to be happy
I’d like to believe that in Certainty’s dreamworld, Jim isn’t actually dead, but undead. Still, Omin talks as though he’s dead even when he’s right next to him. Archlich Darkmagic stores his phylactery in the safest place he can conceive- in his beloved nieces holding-bag.
While watching this, I had a football game on in the background, and while Jerry and Jasmine were talking about being called Bo, the TV showed an assistant coach named Mike Bobo. The world is a strange place sometimes
So am I the only one who gets giddy everytime I see "Omin Dran: Cleric of Asomdeus" pop up on screen? It's the perfect combination - a match made in heaven... er, hell, if you will. ^_^
Thanks Josh for shouting out the giveaways on Twitch yesterday! I watch these on my TV/PS5 so I never see the full description and never would have known! Also Crawford striking right in the feels this episode. A true Master class in DMing.
Love this show. This keeps my dmmoral up and going. I often use aq as my insperation without copying it. My players love it when they kinde of recognize the flavor of the story and dming
Was it deliberate that Certainty never took a saving throw after her goo-vision to see if there were any positive effects), or was it simply forgotten about?

Free dice? Yes please!
This has been a delightful descent
This is a great series!
Congratulations to @dylanc1254 who has won this week's giveaway!
The "Do all mushrooms look the same to you?" Line was ao fast, and so perfectly timed. 😅
This episode was far and away my favorite work of Jeremy Crawford's. He absolutely nailed the impossible version's of every character. Genuine emotional responses from the whole table, and from me as a viewer as well.
“I know that it’s not true… but I’m living here until it hits.” Right in the feels

I think the whole cast deserves so much love
The difference between this episode's backstory and other episodes' backstories is that Jerry was OFFICIALLY given the floor. :P
He should be given the floor every time, because everyone else gets to interrupt to our benefit instead of being steamrolled by him
this episode literally gave all of us player and audience psychic damage, and all we could do is say thank you. this was just so incredible and beautiful! i absolutely love all of this!
I cried. I've been watching AI adventures for years now and those scenes hit me hard. Thanks Jeremy and all the table for such amazing moments!
We're spoiled with these new / awesome battlemaps for every single game. Nothing beats a good mini playground.
I was waiting days for this new episode but I was not prepared... Bravo Jeremy Crawford!!!
Two buds had an idea, took chances, did what they wanted, sacrificed and strived to do things right and now, as their reward, all of these years later, they get to play D&D on the reg for our entertainment and as a marketing avenue to boot. Awesome work!
Omin jumping into the goo turned into pure fanservice for Jasmine, and I'm here for it.
It's a day later, and I just cried again over what happened in this episode. Jeremy Crawford used precision strikes on my heart
Jesus christ this was a masterpiece of a session. Thank you!
I mean JEREMY CRAWFORD this was a masterpiece of a session. Thank you!
I feel like Chris and Jeremy are going back and forth trying to outdo each other as DM.
And we're reaping all the benefits....each set seems to keep getting better!
I absolutely love Jim’s creativity with spell usage. Especially when he killed the real him dark magic
Though they did miss an opportunity to call Bobby’s factory “Zimmeruscheese”
God, what is that song that plays when they're in the goo? It's so beautiful and really added to the moments
It sounds original, but reminds me of Orbital’s “Halcyon and On and On”
Incredible stuff from Jeremy. These sessions have been some of the best Acq Inc content in years, really enjoying the format :)
Evelyn's story was a velvet gut-punch that left me vulnerable to Omin's unexpected emotional attack on my heartstrings. Bobbie's story delivered the final blow. Y'all made me cry. 😂
Another week, another episode! I don't want this series to end
A World of Pure Imagination. You have been awarded a precious magic item - 💖. Keep it secret. Keep it safe. 🥰
Now this was a master class of DMing and story telling! Bravo!
the shadow council is pleased
Yes we are
I have been watching Acq Inc since its inception and this is legitimately the most emotional I've ever gotten over an episode. Bravo, Jeremy! :)
I haven't teared up like that since the end of CR's first campaign( "Sam's Wish"...iykyk.) You all are my absolute favorite D&D content, thank you for existing. 💔💔💔
A masterful performance J Craw! Absolutely wonderful to watch the table react to your narration.
Love that we get Chris and Jeremy, and this series lends itself perfectly to alternating DMs. The rest of the cast is fantastic too!
That was sublime… clearly shows that dnd is not just about dungeons and dragons
I know this is a funny show but this episode managed to be deeply meaningfull somehow. That scene with Omin's family was like watching a really good drama that tugs at your heartstrings. Well done Jeremy Crawford.
There's a lot of other very cool stuff in this episode but that got to me.
What a mastery of fun and emotional scenes. Thank you all for sharing this experience with us.
On a scale of 1 to Brennan Lee Mulligan, this is about an 8/10 in terms of emotional damage. I'm all for the Craw.
Great work by Jeremy Crawford in this one, masterful in reacting to Jim's whacky spell use, and the visions for the characters.
Your labors have pleased us.
Easily my favorite episode so far! SO MUCH FEELS!!!
All the best Dungeon Masters know how to hit their player's right in the feels, just like JCraw did here. That gut wrench feeling is sooo good, and yet sooo bad
I was NOT prepared for the WAVE of emotion I got at the story behind Bobby's vision. Got DAMN.
Love seeing the Jim Darkmagic magic in action again.
This is the first time I sat through the credits just pondering what I had just witnessed. Amazing.
I feel like the new Jim is an impossibility
A jimpossibility.
That haunting music. Amazing.
This one was special. Truly, one of the nostalgia touching DnD sessions I’ve seen
Best use of the word, "centerfuge," ever.
A Doc Ock Omin would look awesome!
I wish more DMs would us backstory in such ways. Loved it
"Clicking our own ads" sounds like a really peculiar euphemism.
1:11:57 and cue the goddamm waterworks. My god that took me back.
Where can I get the music that was playing during the fantasy sequences???
Does anyone know where they got the background music used for this episode?
~38:30 The Birth of Miss Daisy (aka Beholder on the Clam Shell)
-Sandro Botticelli (probably). 😂
Its a big mood that even in D&D you only get to be happy in a fantasy.
I once read the argument that "happy people dont go on dangerous adventures that will likely get them killed" and I think thats a pretty good argument for why everyone in dnd parties always has the most tragic backstories and never gets to be happy
I don't know what took me so long to watch this incredible episode, but I'm glad I'm here now.
Yeah that was strong stuff. Been watching from day 1 and that was J Craws best effort as DM for sure
I can only hope that one day I will be able to DM something as emotionally devastating to my players!
BEAUTIFUL episode. Loved it.
Really liking the new effects and music.
Great episode, story, and music selection!!
I feel like Austin is my spirit animal. Not playing to type and blending so much to be a nuanced and unpredictable human being
Any chance we could get the soundtrack?
Seconded!!
Please excuse me while I cry about Jim trusting Certainty so much.
Very emotional episode if you know the backstory, i am loving this so far. Tears, laughs and all.
God I need that perfect reality music, so soothing and cool sounding
I never get tired of Jerry's explanations
I come back to 55:50 every now and again when I need to cry.
Y
I'm here!!
I am also here!
And I ! Well done 👍
Mu is here we can start.
I didn't cry, but I'm glad you felt comfortable and In tune with your characters emotions to let it out.
Thanks for the episode. These have been great so far!
10:28 that thumb cracking is intense, Jasmine.
I have hyper flexible fingies haha
I am loving the dueling dms! I can’t wait for the next episode&
10:29 Could it be called a "Fungal Grotto??" IYKYK...
It would seem, in the magic of the impossibility field, Omin Dran can once again cry.
While watching this, I had a football game on in the background, and while Jerry and Jasmine were talking about being called Bo, the TV showed an assistant coach named Mike Bobo. The world is a strange place sometimes
I'll just go and bawl a bucket now. Amazing show.

It looks like you guys are having a good time.
I need this episode animated.
Love this show. This keeps my dmmoral up and going. I often use aq as my insperation without copying it. My players love it when they kinde of recognize the flavor of the story and dming
What an excellent episode! ❤🥲
The season has been fantastic! Can't wait to see what they come up with next.
One of best episodes yet. Goosebumps.
Emotional damage! Loved it!
Best episode ❤
These are so good!
DAMN THIS EPIDOE GOT ME IN MY FEELS 😭 I love J-Craw. What a session. Damn.
Another great episode!!
Wow, this episode was nuts!
This episode is absolutely fucking incredible.
Epic vignettes, Crawford! Love it.
I am here for the "Far Realms" Evelyn.
Omin got Black Mercy'd. For the Man who Has Everything. Cribbing Alan Moore
Well, they certainly delved, all right.
Omin Dran with his kids has got me all fucked up.
Was it deliberate that Certainty never took a saving throw after her goo-vision to see if there were any positive effects), or was it simply forgotten about?
I don't mind having my heart broken by Jeremy Crawford... Several times in one episode. Nope.
I like the five second song you looped for two hours.
I assumed the Anarcho-Syndicalism reference came from the peasants opposed to King Arthur's rule in Quest for the Holy Grail.
