The Seamaster family is truly as deep as the ocean. You could build an expansive, complete, and versatile collection, all without even acquiring a Moonwatch!
I was a Sophomore in college in 1993. Believe it or not, you did not see a lot of 200m Omega Sea Masters on the market. Keep in mind Techniques d'Avant Garde Heuer was being sold at every Macy's/ Federated department stores in most large markets. The 2000 and S el (sport elegance were being pumped out in large numbers when Mansour Ojjeh owned the company. In many ways the "The Bond" 300 re introduced Omega o many of us who were not yet born when man landed on the moon. When the "Bond" 300 came out in the first Quartz edition it was available at select Macy's stores such as the West Coast flagship store in Union Square SF. The 200M is one of THE most underrated watches of the 80's!
Exactly the one my father had only with gold parts. Looking at yours wearing it bring me many memories. my father was driving with the window down and arm outside cuz he liked to smoke. Watch got loose and another car run over it. I want one to keep the memory.
Thanks for sharing the memory. These watches are thankfully still around (particularly the quartz variety) in decent numbers including the two-tone versions, so you could definitely locate one if you wanted.
I literally did the same thing! I originally bought a seamaster 200m 40mm with a gold bezel, thought it was too nice, and then I found a 36mm “beater” that I wear often.
Vielen lieben Dank für diesen ausführlichen Beitrag. Die minimale Struktur dieser Form, gibt der Omega pre Bond, „ gelungensten Uhren in Raum und Zeit unsere Welt „. Prädikat unnormal zum Quadrat.
These always interested me. Nice to see them on a decent size wrist. BTW - your channel is pretty much responsible for the fact that I know have three Seamaster Professional 300m in 41mm :). My next one: plongeur de luxe Seamaster 120 worn by Jacques Mayol. Do you have one of those? There are pretty much no videos regarding this watch - hint :)
Thanks for the comment! I hope you enjoy all the Seamasters you have collected. They are a bit of an addiction for me I must admit. I do not have the Plongeur De Luxe, but they are great looking watches with real history as well. Similar to the 200m, I believe they would be a hit if they were ever reissued by Omega.
Great video! I’m interested in getting a Seamaster 200. It ticks all the boxes for what I’m looking for in a watch. However, I’ve had no luck finding one in decent condition without scratches. Could you recommend any reputable retailers that currently have them in stock?
Are you looking for a particular version? I got my nice one at a good price from a non-professional seller (on eBay) after a lot of patient searching. I believe if you restrict your search to watch stores alone, you may end up paying too much. That being said, I have had a few good experiences on Chrono24 and would definitely include them in any search.
The 300 SMP is so worn out and dated. Omega desperately needs to refresh the Seamster Professional line. In all honesty, besides the integrated bracelet, I would take the 200 in your video over the current 300 iteration.
I just bought one that's 36mm..It doesn't look small in pictures but when I wear it, it looks small. I thought it was for Women but was told it was for Men. Is your watch 41mm?
I have the 40mm. I previously owned the Seamaster 300m in 36mm size and found it too small for me. But the Aqua Terra in 36mm was good. I think watches with a diving bezel always appear smaller due to the smaller glass.
What I like about the Submariner is that the design language is pretty consistent throughout the years, after they moved on from the 3-6-9 of the "king sumariner". You can't say the same about Seamasters. They are all over the place!
It would be nice to see some more consistency from Omega when it comes to at least one part of the Seamaster line. Similar to what they have done with the Speedmaster Professional. The first Planet Ocean was an ideal candidate for that in my opinion.
Thanks for doing this video. No one has done a decent in depth video on this fantastic piece.
Thanks! They really are special watches. I love the unique design and the nice slim case.

You're welcome and thanks for your comment. I really hope Omega brings back this design one day.

You like the consistency, other people might like the variety and that Omega tried new things. people different opinions
It's a quartz watch.
not all of them, some of the 200 are automatic, the one shown is quartz
