Thank you for this teaching lesson. You sound like a teacher and you didn't talk to fast to where I would feel frustrated. I actually felt calm while listening to this and I learned something too.
Excellent video! I tried explaining ratios to my son for his Losi drag car and apparently I dont explain things well. This helped his tremendously. Now it is time to experiment and have some fun! Thank you!
This is really teaching me a lot! I’ve never been able to decide what I’d prefer, faster take off, better for a monster truck and bashing. Buggy/road car, I don’t want no acceleration but I also would like a decent top end too. So maybe a medium would be the best. And I’m running nitro, so I suppose the temp would be important.
I think that there is a little mistake in video! In the last example with the 18 t pinion gear and the 72 t Spur gear, the author says that the gear ratio(10.4:1) is higher and shorter compared to the original ratio of 9.36:1 ! It is shorter but isn’t it lower than the original gear ratio??
1 to 1 is the lowest ratio. If you go more than that you are getting a higher ratio. In other words high ratio you go slower low ratio you go faster. A ratio below 1 to 1 is overdrive
I have a 4s kraton getting 15th tooth pinion put in my kraton THE input gear is being being replaced my Question is is THE 15tooth pinion gear safe being up against spur gears and Differental gear my motor 2400kv Motor 120Esc SERVO not sure what the numbers r on my differental gears or my spur talked to my hobby shop guy about it he said it should be fine told not go stop and go just keep it running and check the temperatures so i bought a heat 🔫 Called dynamite with Built-in laser pointer for accurate target aiming Backlit Readout 2% accuracy Celsius or Fahrenheit auto power shutoff Automatic data hold Low battery indicator operates on included 9v battery
Fantastic video. Really laid the subject out well
Best gear ratio explanation and suggestions I've seen yet! Great charts too.

Great video best one have found explained so someone with no experience of gearing thanks
Great introduction to the Basics of RC gear ratios. Very well done.
Finally someone kept it simple but not elementary, thank you

Great video sir! Thank you for making this video
Excellent work! Thank you
Great explanation, exactly answer questions I have as a RC car beginner. Thank you!
So very well explained and documented! Thank you!
Best upload about this. Thank you sir. You've helped me figure all this out.

Thanks for making this videos. I got it backyards on the track that makes more turns.

This gives a good fundamental. Thanks sir.
Good explanation! Thank you
Outstanding vid! Thanks for the work.
Very helpful! Thank you
If my NPRC with a 2.6 trans is running 132 feet at about 4 and a half pounds. My final drive ratio should be about 12 to 13 final drive?
Tanks a lot.
Is high gear more torque or faster take off
The tires effect the final ratio
Jump to 1:16 in my opinion.

How fast does a 8.5 on a nitro go?

It should be fine, if your that worried about upgrade your motor fan, my 3s Granite came with with a 15t, I run a 20t I love it.
Terrible audio can't here him on max volume.
