  • What a WILD ride this DIY was!! But I am so proud and satisfied at how it turned out!! You can absolutely expect to see more fiber art from me in future videos😍😍 Let me know in the comments which color combinations I should do! Enjoy watching the process and also learning what NOT to do 🤦🏽‍♀️😂♥️
    -----------------------------------
    Materials:
    TAPESTRY
    36” dowel
    4mm cord
    www.amazon.com...
    Scissors
Rit Dye in whatever colors you like! We used Tan, Petal Pink, Tangerine, Cocoa Brown, Teal, Navy
    Salt
    Mixing bowl
    Dye bottles
    Gloves
    WOODEN FRAME
    (2) 1x2 wood
    (1) 1x3 wood
    (2) 1” blocks
    Wood glue
    Bar clamps
    Varathane Special Walnut Stain
    Minwax Clear Gloss Polyurethane
    Foam brush
    ✨MEASUREMENTS FOR DYING CORD✨
For every 1 pound (lb) of cord use the following ratios:
    3 gallons water
    1/2 cup salt
    1/2 bottle Rit Dye
*convert as needed based on the weight of your cord
**do NOT use Synthetic dye (this is what I used the first time around and it does NOT work on macrame cord)
This has to be one of my favorite projects to date! When I saw DIYers all over my feed making this beautiful industrial style grid mirror I knew I had to try my hand at it 😍 In comparison to buying something like this in a retail store, we were able to create the same look for a fraction of the cost. It is now the focal point and conversation starter of our living space🪞✨ I hope you love it as much as we dooooo 😊
Also!! Check out DIY Dalia’s video on YT as well, she was one of the inspirations for this design:

AND @Leloboho on Instagram, she introduced me to what fiber art was and I fell in love 😍

Thank you!! You know what’s funny is I had to do some math beforehand to estimate how many cords to cut to start, So I can definitely share! So for me, I used a 36” dowel which = 914mm. With 4mm cord and doing the larks head knot, I estimated each strand would take up 8mm on the dowel since I was pushing them so closely together, so I cut about 115 strands give or take. Hope this helps! I’m working on a design for a new one I’ll be doing in the next month or so, stay tuned! 😊
