Hi just a suggestion, use cuticle oil around cuticles and the polish will not adhere to skin
Gorgeous! Is there another way to stick the wooden sign on without making a whole in the arch?
You could try hanging the sign with fishing wire then use painters tape on the back of the foam board to hold the fishing line in place

Are nails a better way to go than glue?
We went with nails because it would be easier to pull off if they ever wanted to something different. You could use glue if you wanted to but you would probably have to hold it until it was dry which seem very time consuming.
