How was that even a split decision? Yea i guess HUGE's wheels are a little warped, but freeshipping was almost upside-down and smoking itself out from the fire
Because FS Never stopped aggressing.. he controlled a coupla times.. and through all the damage never even imagined slowing down. Of course Huge won but let's be honest and give FS their flowers..
If FS turned the flame-throwers sideways, the it could cook the tires longer when it gets underneath. It would have to take a blade hit, but probably worth it. The heat made the tires weak.
People questioning the split decision don't understand how the scoring works. Huge's main weapon stopped working at the last second so damage was either 4-1 or 3-2, and I'd give both control and aggression to free shipping at 2-1, so basically it just means 1 judge gave a damage score of 3-2 and FS won the other two categories outright.
@@WatermelonNoel when I read that guy's comment, I was in disbelief that he actually thinks today's scoring system was the same as in s3. Unbelievable, this is why sometimes casual fans piss me off cause they just make themselves look stupid to make us look stupid as well
Honestly I think the point is the casual viewer just thinks that it's the bot that does the most damage that wins and don't realize there's a scoring system involved. Doesn't matter which system was used, it's that people comment like it doesn't exist.
Only real example I can think of is Complete Control vs Bombshell where Complete Control was holding Bombshell up and blasting the flames into its internals. EDIT: Corrected the bot that Complete Control beat.
lol what are you people talking about, warhead absolutely destroyed complete control and put it into retirement, it was bombshell that complete control burned, don quarnstorm they are saying false information
Long story short, flamethrowers are more centralized around damaging soft interiors, not hard exteriors. Might be an interesting combo with a hard hitting blade
I don't know if I'd have used the word "Dominates". I mean it seemed like it could have gone either way a few times -- and it DID end up being a split decision.
He's a pretty good driver but he/his team don't build serious contenders mounting heavy, demanding, complex weaponry so they drive pretty well. For a point of comparison, Hypershock is supposed to be good at handling but for multiple seasons it routinely died or suffered reliability issues after a hit or two. Free Shipping despite not being a machine with real killing potential, does tends to last the fight. Kind of like Duck.
Fire has got to be the most useless weapon ive seen on these battles. Its a very limited resource and takes a lot of time under direct contact to do any damage.
This new version of BattleBots is pretty cool but I miss the original that was on Comedy Central when flamethrowers were not allowed it was a different style of Robot Combat and a different atmosphere and I loved it
The meta definitely seems a lot faster now. Personally, I like most of the changes. A more well-lit box, faster and harder hits, more carnage, better bots. But I also kind of miss how Robot Wars always felt so experimental, and now it feels like "just slap a vertical spinner on a vaguely box-shaped bot (maybe with a wedge) and sit there on defense with your spinner pointed at your opponent." I tend to root for the more unconventional, off-meta bots.
Awesome fight and great commentating "it's the forklift that will not die" had me in tears lmao!
“And he’s going against a forklift with a flamethrower “😂😂😂 what is this sport
this isnt a sport, its a battle.
That vertical spinner on Huge hits hard

@@brockn7878 Yep. Huge didn't get much for aggression, and never really racks up any control points because it just cant push.
Huge only won by damage. He lost or came to a draw in the other two categories.
Love that this is Kenny Florian's gig
The dipping that HUGE has in the middle always makes me nervous it might shock itself in half but it’s one of my favorite robots ever

Well that year the judging was 2-1-1-1 (damage-control-aggression-strategy).
Dude, this fight took place in s3, it was a different scoring system back the compared to today's season

@@WalkerRileyMC so why were so many upset over bombshell winning over duck in the last chance rumble?
Huge need to find a way to put sum rubber on them wheels.
The newest version does. This fight is from 2018
Oh how far HUGE has become. Its now a second place winner
Huge seemed a bit sluggish near the end. I guess his battery was starting to run low?
one of the biggest bots vs a forklift with a flamethrower.
That was intense!
Ladies & gentlemen the 3 judges at transited have turned in 24-21 decision for the red square, HUGE!
Awesome fight
EPIC battle! Battle Bots servin' up another heaping helping of electromechanical carnage,. buffet style.
Y’all need to not spoil the battle with the title
Yes 🎉
Frank was on "Face Off" on the Syfy Channel!
I miss robot wars.
just wait, theyll be back, and next time the opponents will be human.
No you don't, because battlebots is wayyyy better than that mediocre nonsense
Why?
A s3 fight, the first season on discovery channel and the first to implement the fight card system
Yeah, free shipping is a great miniature forklift. ...Cool model and all, but forklifts weren't meant to take a hit (or several) unfortunately.
Fire never seems to do anything...
Unless you’re complete control
The main thing isn’t to cause external damage. It’s to fry the insides. Most of the components do heat up quickly, hence why most bots use fire.
Huge is huge
I have never seen a flame thrower do any substantial damage. It remains the case.
Only real example I can think of is Complete Control vs Bombshell where Complete Control was holding Bombshell up and blasting the flames into its internals.
EDIT: Corrected the bot that Complete Control beat.
you havent seen complete control? he won by burning warhead and disabling it

@@irradiatedanky1780 You're right. I got it mixed up. If I watch one of those fights, I usually end up watching both.

Why do people always say Gary Gin is such a good driver? I've never seen him win a match

"gaming industry icon Naomi Kyle"
Me:.......... Lol who???
Thumbs up to The Announcer, he does a Great Job
Fool fire
If he had more gas maybe he wins
"Dominates"
I like carnage >:D
Anyone else get here through Chris Rose?
huge is too slow and unwieldy to win control and aggression all too often.
I don' t like ISIS beards... good fight b.t.w.
Spoiler Alert
Fire has got to be the most useless weapon ive seen on these battles. Its a very limited resource and takes a lot of time under direct contact to do any damage.
Well that was the wrong decision.
How? Free Shipping got torn up.
I'm 100% certain split decisions Are only there to eat up Air time you can even see faruq looking at his watch before saying the winner
LMFAO you mean the card he was holding that said the winner's name on it?!

Huge is such a boring bot. Honestly not interesting to watch.
Lame. These designs are from the 1930s
Combat robotics didn’t exist in the 1930s. How is it lame?
Ah yes, the classic 1932 miniature flame-spitting forklift
so is your grandma, but you love her all the same.
One of those "1930s designs" is HUGE, and it's one of the most difficult bots to face BECAUSE of its design.
OP is just a loser lying for attention
