How to Make a High Quality Tutorial Video! (workflow, camera equipment, and software tools)
Вставка
- Опубліковано 31 тра 2024
- In this video we look at how to make high quality instructional content on youtube and other platforms. We specifically look at a workflow to plan out, record, and then edit picture-in-picture tutorial videos. In addition, we overview some camera equipment that you can use as well as the screen recording & video editing software tools that I recommend.
Thank you to Kylie Ying for providing some useful input for this video! :)

General strategy to record video:
1. Write out an outline you will follow for your tutorial
2. Implement reference code for project
3. Record tutorial in ~10 minute segments
4. Sync video/screen recording, cut out pauses, fix volume, add effects
5. Make professional thumbnail
6. Give video descriptive title that includes keywords users are looking for
7. Upload!

Hi Keith ... please make more tutorials on data science real-time end to end projects + deployment of the project on a cloud
Precisely presented! GG Keith!
Keith - Thank you for all your videos and tutorials. You should also make a video about the subjects you took at MIT and what you learned in them, which would be really helpful. Especially now that we can follow some of them on edx and OCW. Thanks! Big fan
That’s really the nice of you trying to help others in anyway you could, and contents of your channel DID help me a lot . To show you my appreciation I’m gonna subscribe to your channel .
Thank you! I appreciate the support :)
Keith Galli you’re such a nice ,smart and handsome guy and Your channel is the best educational channel on UA-cam so in my opinion you deserve to be a super famous UA-camr.Wish you the best.
Very informative as always: also looking forward to seeing some tutorials on pyspark..
Hi Keith. Awesome!!
Hey man glad you are back 👍😀
Glad to be back! :)
Hey Keith, I had been using SnagIt for years until just recently switching over to OBS. You should check it out, it’s great for screen capture.
just know your vids are used to teach several classes at my school for Computer science
haha no pressure :D
THANK YOU GEITH
😁
wow, very nice content as usual.
def needed this lmao ty
Hi Keith ... pl make more tutorials on data science real-time projects ...
You're back! I was worried about the covid thing.
Yep I'm back! Doing well here with all that is going on, but just have been busy with startup work.
Thanks I am going to start a channel...... This information is really going to be helpful
Thank you very much for this tutorial. I recommend you try using OBS
BRO CONGARTS ON 69K !
what is the ideal learning path of data science through python.i will be extremely greatful if you help me begin with data sc keith.
Hey bro, how can i be a data analyst, what topics should i cover?? Please reply cause i can't find a way or path
Thats a great tutorial about making tutorials huehue. Good job
Haha thank you 😊
If you plan your video in advance (i.e. the code you are going to program or present) when you do «errors/mistakes» and get stuck then figure out the solution ... is it something that has happened in the planning phase and you keep it for its instructional value or is it something you catch on the fly while recording the actual tutorial??
it's a bit of both! If I got stuck somewhere along the way in the planning phase I might keep the solution that I found in the video for instructional value and then sometimes I run into a new error during the filming of the video I find a solution/debug it on the fly. I would say it's like a 50/50 split.
I will either instal MS Windows on a separate drive just for that or find options for linux which I feel could be limited
Yeah dual booting is never a bad option. I would not worry about making videos to perfect to start out with so you will probably be fine with the Linux video editing options when you're getting into it.
Great video :D
Thanks for your help with it!!
Hi Keith, maybe is important say about tags. How can I know what is ok according my video subject ??
My approach to tags is to list the terms & phrases I think people might search up when looking for a video like mine. I always use up the 500 character limit when creating tags.
@@KeithGalli thanks 🤝
Hey it’s me!!!!
hi, Keith Galli, are you from MIT University because your banner behind you at the previous video looks like MIT Banner
Yep I got my bachelor's degree and master's degree from MIT :)
oh my god it was my dream to go to college there, but my age is still 11 years old, maybe you can make a video for tips and trick for getting into MIT University
I want to be a UA-camr since so long... over the years I equipped myself with best products known for that task and I am still incapable to make it a passion and publish my video... Now that I am on Linux I can’t even use after effects or Premiere Pro ...
I wouldn't worry about not being able to use After Effects or Premiere Pro when you're starting out. Even on linux you can find ways to edit your videos. I would just focus on just trying to publish something. It might not get many views or be the highest quality, but just uploading is the start to building a channel. Each video you post try to make a little better than your last. Try to find a way to provide value to your audience. You got this!
Given this comment is a year old, I thought I'd ask. Were you able to get off the ground?
What do you guys think of a tutorial of just the screen and not my face ? Also about a micro tutorial ? Like 2-5 minutes in length. I'm trying to land my first job in data analysis and I'd like to turn around some videos quickly to get my name out there and not take time away from job searching/studying
I work on being impulsive, who has time to set all this up. Congrats
This would take me month to make a video
Great information ,
I’ve recently started a Software Tester tutorial channel 👍 might be worth checking out 😉
I’ll apply what you’ve mentioned
It's a meta-tutorial!
Lol just wait until my next tutorial, "How to make a tutorial on how to make a tutorial" 😉
Hi keith how are you?
(Please reply)
Hey I'm doing pretty well right now. Just finished playing some golf! :)
@@KeithGalli NOOOO WAY YOU REPLIED
You still made time stamps DEDICATION 100
Haha yep :)
do you ever code with JavaScript? I would like to be like that Christian knocking at your door too early in the morning to bring you the Word of God... Which instead of god (JavaScript) I am here to talk about his son (TypeScript) haha :P
