UPDATE: Mark did end up purchasing JR51 from Landon to put in his Batesville Museum which you can see in this video! ua-cam.com/video/XXFIwkkZd5U/v-deo.html
Something you may see on tv for 45 seconds before the race may have a huge awesome story behind it like this. We’re super grateful for NBC and NASCAR for allowing us to use the on track footage. Just an awesome day. If you haven’t seen the other videos we’ve done with Mark you should check them out!

Thank you so much for this. Mark Martin was and is my favorite driver . I never missed a race he was in. When I finally got to see him win in person in the 5 car I cried. It was that overwhelming. I have this die cast as well. Now I know the full history of it. This is the NASCAR I miss so much. I no longer watch it regularly because of what it has become but your channel brings back memories constantly. I’m from Mississippi so I’ve always kept up with Lake Speed and have met him more than once and getting to see him again is wonderful. So thank you for your hard work to bring all these memories back.

That is so cool that you have Mark Martin subscribed to your channel and giving you props for your work. It was awesome to see the look on his face when he climbed into JR51 and sat down. You could see the wheels start turning. That must have been an incredible few moments for him driving that car around the track. Mark has always been a class act in and out of the car and one of my favorite drivers. I can't wait to read his book. Like man himself said, you're knocking the lights out. Keep up the great work and bringing this excellent content on early Nascar history. Continued success to you and Logan.

I was a Mark Martin fan since the Folgers T-bird days. in 1994 he was going for his 4th consecutive win of the season at Dover. He did an autograph session at the Pep Boys just outside of the track. I had my wife and 1 yr old son with me and when we got to the table and Mark was signing my son's t-shirt I remarked how I'd be with him in the car the next day for #4. He got that huge grin , stood up and shook my hand, and said "thank you, man" He then held my son in his lap for a few minutes while signing the next few autographs. Mark deserves all of the accolades he's received. A legendary racer, and just amazingly wonderful and humble human being. Thank you for this video, and thank you to Landon and all involved in making this moment happen!

Landon is keeping a true piece of history alive and I don't blame him for giving Mark first right of refusal when he if/when wants to sell it!
Mark was like a little kid climbing into the car and driving it again.....to talk about it as well, he really enjoyed it, one can tell he loved this car!
It should be noted that Dale Sr was also a friend of Mark and Jack Roush, Jack gave him the opportunity to drive one of Mark's cars......
Dale said about that experience "Its a really nice handling car, it just lacks the power compared to ones I run!"

Mark is the MAN, if you gave him a vintage race to run this car, that "racer switch" he talks about would flip back on and he would slay the field. This guy had a talent that came from above. You can tell he didn't miss racing when he left and has another life, but boy when he threw that thing in gear, it was ON.
