I love how this bass still has that "Clank" Rickies are known for, it's all down to their all maple construction that gives them that concrete mixer rattle.
Listen to Chris Squire on "Roudabout" to hear that concrete mixer rattle to stellar effect.

I never really was a fan of Rickenbacker basses but this one seems very nice. but then again, for that price.... I rather get a Fender custom shop

jedw The pickups are some of the hottest humbuckers. I had one of these (in natural). Great sounding bass, but I preferred the neck on my 4003-I like a neck that's fat and fills my hands. I had a 2008-the neck wouldn't stay straight-something I heard about the 2008 Laredos. Can't speak about any other year though. Wound up staying with my 4003.

Your showcasing , demo-ing a particular model bass. Why in the world would you put an fx pedal on it? This only masks it's true tones and is more about what you the 'reviewer' likes to hear. Let alone the lack of mentioning how great this bass is for progressive rock. Rick was a key instrument for many a progressive rock bassist.
