    • @bikerbruce1988

      Rabbgod ...imagine a world elite marathoner, or Ironman distance triathlete, or top pro road cyclist. These people are fueled by desire and adrenaline to exert energy expenditures well beyond their ability to do in training. Their recovery time needed from a championship race is much longer than is needed from a training session because, in the competition, they exert far more than they are capable of doing in training. Contrast those efforts with Usain Bolt running for nine seconds in a track meet, or Michael Phelps swimming 50 m freestyle in about 20 seconds. These brief efforts require massive, and very very difficult training. The effort and intensity of the performance in competition, although much higher than in training due to desire and adrenaline, is not nearly as difficult as their training sessions due to “volume” or brevity.

    • @thepigproductivity
      @thepigproductivity 4 роки тому +32

      Generally speaking, you train further distances then you actually have to run in competition. I’d imagine this applies to most sports. You train harder than you actually will be required when competing so when you actually compete, you are more than prepared.

    Usain never speaks too favourably about his training. He comes across as being this laid back dude who is just naturally fast. The reality is, you have to train EXTREMELY hard and have a disciplined diet to even sniff a medal on the world stage. Guys like Usain were training ALOT since they were young boys.

    • @SmurffNationn
      @SmurffNationn Рік тому +15

      I’m sure he has a disciplined diet, but maybe the most amazing part of his 2008 Olympics performance was he only ate chicken nuggets while in China! He said it was the only food he trusted to not upset his stomach. Somehow, he managed to put on a world class performance on fried food.

    I can't believe some people think Bolt is 'lazy' in training and in life. Those people should watch this video and sees how damned hard he trains on the track. Even though the 100/200 meters are relatively 'short' races, they are no less grueling of events, considering that elite athletes have to run multiple rounds to get to the finals.

    • @spencerbush1474
      @spencerbush1474 7 років тому +7

      The reason he didn't switch to 400 is because he's not that type of middle distance runner. The 100 and 200 are completely different races than the 400, but they require the same amount of effort and training. If the 100 and 200 were so easy, then every middle distance runner would switch to those races. I personally run the 400 and 800, and I am great in middle to long distance work-outs, but the speed work-outs absolutely kill me. You're a fool if you believe what you said is true.

    • @goodebening6564
      @goodebening6564 7 років тому +4

      Shaun Diebel did you just say that training for the 400 m and 800m is just as hard as 200 m and 100 m. Are you joking? You dont have to be a rocket scientist to see that 400 and 800 m is much more harder. Usain bolt also said that in an interview. You can try it your self. Do a 100 % 100m sprint and 200m and compare to a 400 and 800m

  • @KNOWHOPE72
    @KNOWHOPE72 10 років тому +415

    Anybody who has not trained for the 200 m or the 400 m sprints does not know the meaning of brutal training, as we witness with Bolt's training above. Training for the 100 m is considerably easier, since the element of speed stamina is less. Its the speed stamina training element in the 200 m and the 400 m that is so brutal.
