    Hey mightymecanic im working on this same car for my grandpa did u depressurise the fuel at all? if so is there a fuse for the fuel pump or did you use a fuel preasure gauge tester

    Hey sir I have the same car, 1998 Lincoln Continental and I would love to know what points you jacked it up at and where you put the jack standa

      I jacked it up under the subframe across the front and put the stands under the drip edge.

    I have a 97 town car with a cylinder 7 misfire could it be from the filter? ive changed plugs wires checked injectors no milky oil so its not head gasket the distributor cap is firing., what else can i check

      If it was getting low pressure due to a clogged filter it would make all the cylinders act up. If the ignition system is all new then I would check the fuel injector.

      @@MightyMechanic thanks. Ill do that next. When i was driving home the check engine light started blinking i pulled over restarted the car and no more blinking car still shaking though.

      @@cyn1744 check your coils engine coils. My car use to shake a bit but I cleaned the throttle body and valves. Cleaned the mass air flow sensor too and now it doesn't shake. Hope this helps ya out.

      @@MightyMechanic hey I have 2000 Lincoln Town car and when im driving it and pushing on that gas sometimes it won't catch I mechanic look at it the other day and said it's the filter

    What was going on with the vehicle to make you have to change the fuel filter.....

      It's just a maintenance thing about every 50k, to be on the safe side.
      If your fuel pump is getting louder, it may be caused by a bad fuel filter.
