Ricardo, I've been watching your channel since early this year. I was an inliner and boarder, as we called ourselves, from back in the early 90s. I don't often comment. I feel the guys that were there when this incident happened are probably watching your channel. To everyone that was there, I'm sincerely grateful and happy all of you made it through that situation with very minor injuries. I never tried downhill because of the dangers. You guys are great. Would never do this on a public road especially with that much traffic. You not only put yourself in immense danger but also completely innocent motorists that have no clue you are speeding downhill. Really irresponsible.
I 100% understand where you are coming from and respect your opinion. But this is not something that happens commonly. roads are not done just for cars. And downhilll skaters, at least in South Africa always use a safety vehicle that goes behind them and they “try” to stay on their side of the road… also usually this is an activity that it’s done usually very early where the roads are most of the times empty. And also most times. There’s someone on the bottom of the road checking for traffic or informing the car drivers going up. At the end of the day we can not say that’s it’s bad to skate down a road, but ok to drive down on a bike on run down the road.. but this is off course my biased opinion and I understand that there is people with a different vision 🙏🏻❤️ Lots of love Lino
@@RicardoLino it must also be said the goal of yours was to achieve 100 km/hr which is extremely fast. I agree that other vehicles can be on the road such as bikes and even pedestrians walking on the shoulder but again to achieve those speeds your reaction time is very, very narrow. It was a lot of traffic cars constantly coming by and that one gentleman was right in my opinion to want to report your actions to the appropriate authorities. I don't say this to make you feel bad or to be negative just saying imagine you swerve into oncoming traffic lane and cause an accident in which someone is seriously injured or killed that would be on you for the rest of your life. Please be safe you are too precious to the community and I know you mean well. 💚
Come to Rockland Lake NY and skate the hills above it. The hills are on the top of the Palisades cliffs. I used to run the lake as a warm up, then skate 30 miles doing a loop. Some fun blind curves. Don’t worry, not many cars up there, so bring your friends. I was much younger in those days 😂
Ricardo man the other day i have a crash on an small down hill and i wos locky i have all the protective gear also the crash pants and i only get some scraches but i have to keep the skating in my last week to the minimum and get some rest becaous of the scrash wish is not a bad thin ri? best of luck to you and i am wating those vidios of down hill 🤘🤘🤘

I'v been practicing since child SKI then Rollerskate downhill with the crazyest parisian riders you could find around 2000. We would catch cars to go to the suburbs downhills, we even all went together to Lausanne twice. I'd love to transmit my memories like Spoke does in Star-Trek.... almost died several times. Near death is easy to achieve, now talking to the viewers : If you want to start going extra fast with rollers, practice on smooth downhills how to BREAK and control your speed. Use protections and slim clothes. GLOVES, KNEE PADS, and a motorbike JACKET. TWO JEANS one over the other. Tighten your rollers at the maximum you can, to avoid WOBBLE. at a certain speed your feet can start to make SINUSOIDS trajectories which are almost uncontrolable, depending on your frames size and number of wheels.. In those cases stand up, open the arms and slow down while you keep your legs muscles at maximum contraction. I like you very much Ricardo, TAKE CARE. ttyl in Sines !
Glad everyone is safe too. But how irresponsible! As your colleague says in the video: you should have arrived much earlier. And therefore put off the downhill for another day. I suppose it might not have been possible for everyone; but sometimes you have to make the right decision for everyone's safety.
Love your videos, but man, if the car had to swerve off the road off a hilly narrow road, it could’ve killed both the lady and the man in the car. There were so many cars on the road and watching this puts all the fans who try to do the same in danger. At least with a bicycle, they are more visible and usually grouped together VS a few human bodies hunched over on a board or on skates, all moving at different speeds. No glorifying any of this.

Where should downhill skaters practice? Crashes can happen in any sport, so labeling us as irresponsible is simply your opinion and shows a lack of understanding of the sport. No one wants to crash.
May I know the background music? It's hard for me to find so many good songs for rollerblading. It's all about live and learn. People get different opinions from the incident. I will show this video to my kids, and they will get a lesson, too. Thanks for sharing your experience. You are a very good teacher.
A week ago I crashed due to lack of signage warning about a steep hill and sharp turns on an asphalt bike trail. Got covered in scratches and wounds. even had a concussion. i’m perfectly fine the CT scans came back normal.
