- Join us for a day out on the water around St Pete Beach, Madeira Beach, and Treasure Island on Memorial Day weekend of 2024.
We brave the crowds to see what it's like on John's Pass sandbar on a busy long weekend. Along the way we see lots of dolphins and way too many boats!
This weekend our deepest gratitude goes to the loved ones we have lost. You are forever in our hearts and minds.

What a day full of adventures! I love it! Sky Beach is my kind of place for listening to music while the sun is going down.
We were pleasantly surprised with Sky Beach, the view of the Skyway is so cool!
So fun!
Thanks for watching, we hope you enjoyed your weekend as well!
Fun!!
We hope you were able to get out and do something fun too!
That Secret Garden area is amazing! We went over there last year after we met up with all of you for lunch...a fun day!
I think it was Willy's Burgers where we had lunch too.
Cool seeing things from the view from the water side of things
That was a fun day, you are right, it was Willy's! It is cool to see the area from the water, since we more frequently are on land, looking out toward the gulf.
Would you venture out on a busy holiday weekend? Or would you wait to get out on a day without the crowds?
I love pho! Yummy!
It is soooo good 😀
We are just at Madeira and reddington! What a great time. We got out there by 1115 and somehow it wasn’t slammed. But it was by noon
That is great it wasn't too packed when you arrived at least. We had family who went out to Madeira in the afternoon and said people were everywhere 😆
I would have been exhausted after your day. Growing up with the greatest music from the 70 seventies and espeacially the mid eighties, the grudge 90's? That was a tough time for me in music history. Ok, I love your videos and will give you a pass on this one. Keep on rockin in the free world!
I think most people particularly enjoy the music they grew up listening to even as adults. We both grew up in the 90's, and even though grunge basically killed the hair bands (which I (Skylar) also really enjoy), it will always be one of my favorite genres of music. I'm thankful to have grown up in a home with parents who listened to a lot of 70's and 80's rock also, so I'll always have a love for that as well!
honey, wake up. Jamie and Skylar have posted.
😆surprise! The episode came together quicker that we anticipated 😊
where did you rent the boat?
Freedom Boat Club ☺️
Muwhahahahaha Skylar looks like he's had a right skin full 😂 (I'm only jealous because I worked our May bank holiday weekend). Great little video, love 3 daughters....esp their cider flights.
😆he did (btw we had to look up that term, we've never heard that before!) he enjoyed several delicious beers between the two breweries 🍻so sorry you had to work on the holiday, hopefully you can visit a good brewery and enjoy a few yourself soon 😀
Jamie or Skyler
What was the name of that fish market and where is it?
Thank you
Joe
Hi Joe, I don't recall a fish market in this episode, do you mean the marina, or the fishing charter? If you give us a little more info, or even a timestamp of where it is in the episode we can try to find out!
@@JamieandSkylar Jamie was in front of a big market then he went in front of a fish counter
@@JamieandSkylar where he bought the Salmon
@@joecoletti7970 ooooh, I totally forgot we included our trip to the store in the episode! The fish market was at Detwiler's in Palmetto, but they have locations in Bradenton, Sarasota and Venice too.
@@JamieandSkylar Thank you and keep up the good work!
Okay...I've bookmarked the Pho place on my Google Maps now too.
We found a place a half hour south of us in Marshalltown that is pretty good (Jack's Pho House) and Buya Ramn in St.Pete has been our go to while in that area. The other place we've had Pho was at Saigon Noodle in Orlando...very good and the owners are fantastic.
Looking forward to trying this place now!
We would go there every week if we could 😀thanks for the suggestions, we have been to Buya, but not the other two. Good Ramen and Pho spots are hard to pass up!
Cool video! Yeah, My late Dad and I went on a casino boat at John’s Pass back in 2000 I believe. John’s Pass is cool. I had memories at St. Pete Beach as well.
That sounds like fun memories with your Dad 😊even though John's Pass is quite touristy, it still has the old fishing village feeling too.
I think if we knew someone with a boat, I think we would. That looks like a lot of fun. How deep is the sand bar area?
It depends on the tide and where you go on the sandbar, it can get very shallow.
We were on that same sand bar Monday and it was awesome. We will definitely go out there again.🤙
Was it as crowded as it was on Saturday?
It was very crowded! We did have the most awesome boat neighbors all around us. Everyone was friendly and helpful. We usually go to crab island in Destin but we loved how spread out everyone was here. Plenty of room to navigate and anchor. We had a blast🤙
@@FlipCouvillion that is even better when you have good boat neighbors! We've only seen pics of Crab Island but would love to check it out for ourselves one day :)
Y’all should definitely make the trip to Destin.🤙
@@FlipCouvillion we've had a lot of recommendations for the Destin area, so hopefully we get up there soon
Hi You are so right. The bands we grew up with, we will love. I hope you caught my last comment. The Godfather of Grunge, Neil Young. I know I would have a had a great time listening to that band. Got to give you a little bit of a hard time. I'm going to Even Flow and have a cocktail.
Love Neil Young! Always nice to wrap up an evening with a drink and some good music!
Bonus Jamie and Skylar! I'm really enjoying the vlog style content! 👍 We are heading down to FL soon and our first stop is always Delosa's pizza at John's Pass....can't wait! I would definitely head to this sand bar! Looks like so much fun!
We were surprised we were able to get the episode ready a bit early to post it last night. Thanks so much for the feedback, it has been fun to film a different style for this channel. We hope your next FL trip is here before you know it! We will have to go back to Delosa's ...i THINK we ordered pizza from there years ago once, before we had moved to Florida, I don't remember what we tried, but I do remember the building.
I would do both! How ironic that you guys just did this Saturday and posted it. I will be taking a boat out from the same marina and club in the morning
The sand bar is fun when it is relatively empty AND when it is packed! How funny you will be going out of the same marina...to the same destination 😆 maybe you are already at the sandbar by now! Have a great time today!
John’s Pass sandbar is really fun. People also drop anchor on the north shore of Shell Key for a less busy, and more relaxing time.
That may have been the better choice this weekend, the sand bar was crazy!!
What a fun weekend adventure you had! I just returned from my first Virgin Voyages cruise and it was SO MUCH FUN! I sailed the Valiant Lady to Costa Maya and Bimini. What a wonderful ship that is. I know y'all love to cruise so you'll have to put VV on your list. The no kids thing and gourmet dining with top shelf cocktails absolutely makes this line the best one ever...at least for me. I'm loving this channel, guys, so much fun keeping track of your local shenanigans! 🙂
Ahh that is so exciting! We've talked about hopping on a VV cruise, but haven't done it yet. I can imagine it is quite a different experience. We are so glad you had a great time! Have you sailed on Celebrity before? I am curious if they are at all similar. From our experiences so far, Celebrity has had the best food and drinks. While kids can sail on Celebrity, we haven't seen too many on our Celebrity sailings.
@@JamieandSkylar This VV cruise was my first cruise ever so I have nothing to compare it to. Honestly, I don't think I'll try another line unless I can be convinced to do so. Virgin was the ultimate for me. No kids, gourmet dining and the most delicious cocktails and beer! Skylar, you will love all the beer choices...be sure to check out the Draught Haus as the selections are yummy, for sure! 🙂
@@rhondalyn100 there is nothing wrong with sticking with what you know you enjoy! The Virgin cruises do sound great, I am sure we will experience one, hopefully soon 😃 Skylar would love the Draught Haus 🍻
