One of my favorite childhood places to visit. I would ride my bike all the there from the Indian rocks beach area. Long ride but it was fun to hang out.

@@bas4116 Yeah, it was nice to live next to the beach and get to surf after school if there was waves(which was never lol) so we would always just go skate. I spent a lot of time skating at the skatepark of tampa.
I loved hearing Sloop John B by the Beach Boys in the background at Bubba Gump's. That was my father's favorite song and John's Pass, Maderia Beach and Treasure Island were some of his favorite places. Lots of memories!
Wow, dolphin jumped out of the water as the pirate ship pulled out. I went there in 1989, thanks for the happy memories. Cheers

Our Florida beaches are so beautiful. They smell wonderful too. Lovely day. Too hot for me now, but I'm visiting in a couple of months. I only live 30 miles away but it's like a different world. Pure paradise 🌴

The sands is a great little place to stay. We love johns pass. Hopefully when we go back we’ll be able to check out the gator attractions.

If you ever decide for a day trip or 2 day trip to Key West try the Key West Express ferry out of Fort Myers. Nice 3.5 hour boat ride to Key West and saves a lot of driving.

Cool area. Can't wait tell you go back to that upstairs wildlife place. It sure has the gaudy Florida touristy vibe I like so will . I think that was Punch from Punch and Judy's old puppet shows. Cool flamingo shirts.. Hopefully you-all will be wearing them at the Comic Com.....
We stay at Sunset Vista over the bridge in Treasure Island… Couple times a year from the Midwest.This is where we hang out and eat all the time when down there. We love to eat at Doc Side Dave’s in Madeira also great grouper Reuben’s… we love this whole area…can’t wait to return

I imagine that John's Pass Village was once a nice quiet little hidden gem like Siesta Key Village. Now...at least it looks like there's a lot more room to move about at John's Pass; Siesta Key not so much! I could put that wave sound on and just drift off to sleep...no melatonin with a Tylenol PM and Whisky chaser!

We went to the alligator place years ago. Super fun. I don't know what it's like now but would recommend based on the past experience. Didn't know about the duck tour, might have to venture that way again ..thanks for sharing!

We were just at John’s Pass a week ago feeding the gators with family that came down from Indiana. When we did it a year ago they used sticks with hotdogs attached , but they stopped bc ppl were hitting the gators with the sticks. 🙄. Ppl always ruin things. Now it’s just pellets you throw. It was still fun to hold them.
I was wondering what jumped out of the water as the pirate ship was heading out. I thought it was either a dolphin, manatee, or a mermaid-lol! It was so cool to know that Summer Rental was filmed there. I love John Candy movies.
I need to check out that John’s Pass. I’ve only been to that area once but it was a job I was doing and didn’t get to check out the local scene.

i know the hubbard family that started johns pass. we were friends for many years. had hubbards pier in pass a grille went to maderia beach jr high i grew up with hubbard kids and one of the girls owns friendly fisherman

It looks so cool, thank you for sharing it. We tried to go in October when we were down filming in Florida but just did not have the time. We made sure at least to drive over that drawbridge so Joe could at least lay his eyes on the worlds largest chicken wing. Was the wood jester Punch based from Punch and Judy puppet shows?

Is Madeira beach crowded? My boyfriend, his parents and I are wanting to go somewhere that isn’t crowded. We were going to go to Fort Myers but unable to due to the hurricane.
