Thank you, dear Steve Hume, for uploading (part of) this wonderful series onto UA-cam; I'd actually only heard of these, before. Since I was born in 1978, I fortunately grew up listening to great 70s and 80s pop/rock/disco music and also
watching lots of television programmes, series and movies (esp. 're-runs' I guess) at the time; I'm especially very fond of the mystery/detective (eg. Agatha Christie) ánd thriller/horror genres (eg. Hammer Studio productions); but somehow strangely, I never got to see this
well-made 'classic' series (for myself); yet I am now truely delighted to get the chance ánd pleasure to watch it for myself - first hand; all thanks to you, Steve! I'm sincerely grateful to you, for giving the 'younger' generations ánd me as well, the opportunity to be slightly 'mesmerized' - for a while at least! - by these marvelous, somehow 'enigmatic' psychological thriller - stories!... So much obliged, dear friend!👌 Greetings from 🇳🇦!

Everyone here is assuming it wasn’t ‘her’ Don. It might not have been but it equally wasn’t confirmed to not be… he suddenly had a space free for her on the Munich trip after cutting off his gf/ her getting killed? The watch symbolising he is hers again after the end of that relationship? Also the coincidences of the Paris and Scotland trips. I don’t think we truly know if it was Don or not.

When would he have had time to travel from wherever he was at the time, have {somebody} remove the watch from her wrist, take it back home, put it in his wife's suitcase, AND get back to his office to telephone her though??
This was between lunch and the end of office hours when the murder and the telephone call took place, was it not??
And surely somebody's personal effects aren't just automatically given to those closest to a victim so soon after a fatality... There are formalities to see to first.
And if the watch was removed from her wrist at the scene - which, with a large audience and inevitable subsequent intervention from police thereafter - that would have to raise eyebrows, and THAT would affect his position at work if it came to light.
He'd surely had to have made a trip to the coroner's office to collect it first, which would be quite a feat, considering the only person to have planned her "murder" was his wife - how would he have been able to know about Louise's death so soon afterward??
Perhaps his details were written in her diary I suppose one might argue, however, with *_that_* being said, how would he even know to replace the watch in the first place???
And even getting in touch with those nearest to the deceased would have to take a while.
And if there were no suspicious circumstances surrounding the death, then why would he be so willing to remove her watch in the first place, if there was nothing to suggest that his wife was somehow involved??
The only person with the awareness OF the watch being on Louise's wrist was Moira, was it not??
Her husband wasn't there to physically see Moira actively noticing the watch.
If he knew Moira was on to Louise - or even somehow *_suspected_* - then he'd have reason to be more inclined to "overact" pleasantly towards her to compensate for it.
His behaviour did nothing to suggest he was searching for evidence of suspicion on her part.
Another factor (not really shown), was - how soon after the murder, did Moira arrive home?
One trip for her, two trips for her husband.
Moira would inevitably have gone *_straight_* home after killing someone (which wouldn't be far away one might imagine, if it was a regular place she went to), whereas her husband, would've needed to have gone (presumably) to his office to actually BE contacted by the police to both inform him of her death, AND inform him of where the coroner's office was situated - which would take some time IF have witnessed the murder (somehow) and had prior knowledge of it, AND then go to the coroner's office, AND then go home - all before Moira made it back without knowing in any way that he'd been there before her.
If this were some sort of court case to determine whether or not he *_was_* having an affair with Louise, then I think he would be acquitted, as the circumstantial evidence against him would be weak, but also, the logistical evidence also appears flimsy.

It's healthy to have twin beds if it means that underlying problems in a marriage can be amicably resolved without relegating one partner (usually the husband) to the sofa.
