+Black Lightning ⚡ One of my favorite things about Spider-Man is that even though he's not physically tough (he heals faster than normal, but he's as fragile as Tony Stark), he can hold his own in a fight with the biggest, baddest baddies. And we got to really see that in this movie, perhaps better than any other movie we've seen.
I didn't say he was weak, he's stronger than most of those guys on the field, and they showed that. But in the comics he never seemed that durable, not like Cap and the others. His spidey-sense usually allows him to duck/anticipate blows, so he's really hard to hit. I wish they had played that up more, but maybe that would've made him too overpowered in this fight.
+JojoChampion yeah! several years your junior but exactIy same reaction! tbh that many characters fighting aII coming to Iife on screen - could u ever have predicted we would see this awesomeness when u were young? or even when the cap movie with matt saIinger (cringe) or even Iundgren's punisher (which i have a soft spot for) were out? mind blowing really. :-)
It gets overshadowed by the airport fight, but the close quarters fight scene in Bucky's apartment building was also a fantastic sequence. It reminds me of the elevator scene in Winter Solider.
Watching all these back episodes on UA-cam really make me appreciate how amazing Kevin looks these days. Really great work, brother, and thanks for being around for basically my whole life making awesome movies and podcasts and enriching my world in general.
Another amusing part of this movie: Tony goes, "life signals detected." Cap goes, "How many?" Tony answers, "One." Then we see Zemo. Then we see Black Panther behind them all. Tony's suit didn't detect Black Panther!
+Phil Corrigan Indeed. Wakanda is Marvel's counterpart of DC's Gorilla City. Very advanced civilization hidden in Africa. Something else that is cool is in the comic books Black Panther is the one built the Quinn jets.
+onetruegentleman Very quickly, when Zolof is explaining how Hydra grew within S.H.E.I.L.D Widow states "Shield would have stopped you" and Zolof follows with "Accidents do happen" and a quick newspaper headline of Starks parents killed in a car acccident
Tony was aware that Bucky was victimized as a brainwashed Hydra assassin but once he found out he killed his parents, logic turns into rage. I loved that.
Rewatching this and found your comment just wanted to add. Tony hit Steve first, I think he was more angry at Steve for not telling. And then Bucky jumped to protect Steve so it went 2 v 1
Andjelka Tony wanted Bucky off jump and Cap stopped him. Hitting Cap was some anger, but more to get him out the way. Only reason him and Cap ended up going at is because Tony was trying to kill Bucky and Cap wouldn’t let him.
After two 5-second scenes, I want a Bucky/Falcon buddy movie directed by Shane Black more than anything else on Marvel's upcoming slate. Also, loving that Buckeroo jersey.
+Kyle Semenoff i'm not sure if the whole strength is how they are supporting. it could get too much over a whoIe fiIm - admit that shane bIack would be the dude to write it but after iron man 3 not directing, pIease!
The airport scene, final fight, Vision and Wanda scenes, Spidey, Ant Man... man you know what? EVERYTHING in this movie was just so good. might be the first time ever that I want to rewatch a movie in the theater again.
You guys are the 1st reviewers I've seen who's actually mentioned the young Stark part and how good the CG looked. I was waiting for someone to say something about it lol.
As MGM was to musicals, Universal Studios to monsters etc. Marvel is to super hero movies. This is truly Marvel's cinematic golden age ( with literary silver and bronze age books). They have developed a winni g formula that we should all enjoy as like all great things it will eventually end. Let's all enjoy this remarkable level of creativity, consistency, and excellence. Hard to believe that Iron Man was almost ten years ago, they took their time, built a great brand, and put their faith in the fact that these movies appeal to nerds and non-nerds alike. Amazing really.
Spider Man was so different in this movie! He fought differently, he slung his webs differently, all of his movements were different! He also felt like a kid! "You have a robot arm! That's so cool!" "Guys! They're not stopping!" They made Falcon (worse Iron Man in the movies) into a really fucking cool hero! They introduced the Vision + Scarlett Witch romance!!!! They changed my favorite superhero to Black Panther!!!!
This movie is a big achievement being able to cram so many superheroes into one film...make it serious, humorous, and fun the entire time. All characters get a chance to shine..all while directed beautifully.
Paralyzed Rhodey was definitely a consequence of the events in Civil War. His speech about running 138 or so combat missions knowing each time that the mission could be his last really hit me hard.
I was happy that you two liked Zemo, because a lot of people didn't get how brilliant he really was. The fact that he did all of this by himself without any outside help and that he had a plan for every single eventuality was really great. He was also the only villain (aside from Loki in Thor 2) who ever _succeeded_ in their plan.
PushinSince93 He was actually part of the Sokovia special forces. So I reckon he has some intelligence gathering and combat experience. Just nothing that compares to super-heroes.
Another part I love about this movie is of how Spiderman has a bit of both young Steve Rogers qualities and Tony's smartass geek talking. Spiderman is EXACTLY like this in the comics. He gets on his enemies nerves, he is simple and righteous. He is really strong and a geek too. They also didn't stop there with the parallels of him with other heroes. He stopped a car in the youtube video, something that amazes Stark (who did the same in Ironman 1) and fought Captain, then losing and lifting the big airport thingy a feat that amazes Captain (who fought Winter Soldier, then got hurt but still lifted the big metal pillar) and then they exchange info about their hometowns Queens and Brooklyn with Cap saying the kid got heart. (which is a parallel to Cap's and Erskin's talk in First Avenger) I probably exaggerate things a bit (I also don't speak the best English sorry) but I really thinκ these specific interactions where placed there on purpose by Russo brothers (who also are Spidey fans) to introduce a hero that is part of the new generation to come, after the Infinity Wars. Oooh God I love this movie!
Took the words out of my mouth! I'd like to think that my French is as good as the poster's English, but I doubt it. Haha. Interesting analysis of the flick & The characters, too!
Tony: Peter Peee*burp*ter you have to do me a real solid, I want you to go to the bathroom and put these seeds inside your butt Peter : In my butt? Tony: waaaay up inside your butt, as far as they can fit.
+chris200830 Yeah, all too often in trilogies, the first 2 films are great but the 3rd instalment tries too hard and falls short. And that applies to non-superhero trilogies too.
Best scene for me is when Steve finally kisses Sharon then looks over to Sam and Bucky and they give him the approving nod. No words exchanged but it said so much!
yeah Ross asking them about Thor and Hulk and comparing them to Weapons of Mass Destruction (which they are ABSOLUTELY capable of) was pretty damn clever
It seemed like a bit of foreshadowing that Ross and SHIELD could be considering a plan to take down Hulk and Thor. If this is true, it would strengthen Cap's argument that this type of authority would eventually manipulate the Avengers into performing missions that include going after their own, even without provocation.
+Randompost we absolutely know that Ross has already been doing this with the Hulk in this continuity. The fact that he is the guy making this pitch to control the superheroes is VERY apt and telling. I love it and it just made my choice of, "team Cap," very easy.
Me too. He had some of the funniest lines/reactions, and Paul Rudd played him as a eager to please puppy dog just happy to be around Captain America. Perfection.
+Kristen ingram I think the Giant Man reveal definitely had more of the "wow" factor since we already had the Spider-man in the trailer. Definitely think Tom Holland is the best Peter Parker/Spider-man we've had yet though.
I watched it 2 hours ago and I can say definitely without no doubt, the airport battle was one of the best fight scenes in any superhero movie. Civil War was more than a superhero movie, it was another political thriller and was directed and choreographed perfectly. The performances too were grounded as well of the introduction of the new characters. Spider man, Black Panther and Antman were the stand outs of the movie. It also has some issues but other than that I would give it a 9/10.
+Michael Balsamo Yup, Arnim Zola shows Cap and Natasha while they're in the bunker. So that also means that Black Widow didn't let Stark aka 'Stank' know either.
The reveal of Bucky killing the Starks is actually hinted at in The Winter Soldier when Zola is showing Cap and Widow of all the assassinations Hydra was involved with. They show a quick picture of Howard Stark.
I know this is an old comment, but your comment relate to the scene where Iron man asking Captain "did you know?" which is brilliant continuation. Yes Captain knows, Zola told him, but he kept it from Tony.
Nugget91Gaming The file Widow handed Cap was a KBG file about all the stuff they did to Bucky, not his missions. That’s why Zemo has to decrypt leaked files, interrogate the guy at the beginning, and make it to Bucky to get the info. It’s been implied that Cap had a suspicion Bucky did it, but choose to not investigate because he didn’t want to find that out. That’s why he never mentioned anything to Tony.
I figured out where the movie was going... when I was trying to figure out what the point of showing Cap, Bucky, and Tony a home video was. And knowing that SOMEHOW the three of them were going to wind up fighting, because of the trailers. So literally about 20 seconds before the reveal proper.
You see the Shakespeare resounding heavily in the Thor films-with all the family drama between the brothers, and tension between the sons and the father.
I love seeing movies, especially ones I'm excited for, on my own. The experience is more personal...b/c I'm alone...but I prefer it! Great movie btw, worth the cinema fee.
Never commented on any video before in my life. But Kevin freaking Smith just sang Bowie/Labyrinth and my life has forever been made just a little bit better for it. Thank you!!
Great job! I'm happy to hear Kevin defend Iron Man 2. Was it a perfect movie, NO. But it had a lot more good than bad. Sam Rockwell as Justin Hammer was amazing-- his "Ex-Wife" weapons demo monologue is one of the greatest comedy scenes in all of Marvel's films. Also, I dare anyone to say they didn't geek out watching Iron Man and War Machine kicking arse at the end of the film. The mix of humor and action is perfect. It's a highly entertaining film even with some of the slow world building plots in the middle.
It's almost as if Black Widow was on caps side the whole time and knew he would benefit if she pretended to be on Tony's side. Am I right or am I right?
Well not really. The only reason she sided with Tony is because if she sided with Steve, then that would split the Avengers futher. But when the chips are down, she's on Steve's side.
I like how people got scared of and got careful around Scarlet Witch the same way they did in the first Avengers with Bruce Banner as if they're too unstable when that's the exact environment they shouldn't be in. And how part of Team of Cap was to defend her as well, the way Tony treated Bruce like a human. It was a nice parallel.
They've established Winter Soldier killing Howard Stark in Captain America: Winder Soldier. Arnim Zola says "Accidents Happen" and the pictures shown are Howard and Bucky. That's how Cap knows that Bucky killed Howard.
I read the implication as having been that the Starks were hit by Hydra, and Steve didn't connect the dots that Bucky would have been the one to carry it out. Perhaps through sheer willful ignorance, Cap just didn't want to face the possibility, which he confesses in his letter to Tony ("I see now I was really jut sparing myself" or something to that effect). To be perfectly honest, it never sank in for me either. I watched Winter Soldier many times, never occurred to me that Bucky was the one until now.
this is my second episode of this or so, but can i just say i think mark bernardin is a fantastic cohost? he riffs off of kevin so well, and he's not obnoxious, but still funny and uplifting. while also having knowledge of comic books and writing. just seems like a nice dude who has good hosting skills.
When Tony and Peter had their conversation I nearly cried. It was just the feeling of completeness, the Marvel superheros TOGETHER. I swear to you Kev and Marc, if Fox comes to the table and the X-men make any kind of appearance in Infinity War, I will weep like a baby. I loved this flick for so much but that moment, where he was there with Tony, it was euphoric!
I think if they do a Black Widow movie they should do it as a One Shot movie. I'm thinking just how she broke off from her brainwash assassin days and also put Hawkeye and nick fury. It could be a good movie
+Felix “FIGGS” Figueroa yes that would be amazing a black widow movie where they explore her past in the red room and how she ended up with shield also they need to tell us what the hell happened in Budapest!!
+rey skywaka exactly, just give her a shot. One movie to get in depth of her past and Hawkeye. Cause idk if people know this but she does have the super soldier serum in her, but it only makes her age slower and some super agility, another reason she supposedly can't have children.
I could still be nerd high, but this was the best comic book movie I've seen. Have to see it again tomorrow morning. Every character was handled properly, the plot was really well laid out, you knew why everyone chose which side, and the action omg. I thought they were going to do the shakey cam thing all movie so I was worried at first. The fight scenes were amazing and they used Black Panther so damn well, thanks Marvel and Chadwick for that, it really meant a lot to me.
Kevin is easily within the top ten people ever. you could chill with that dude and not get bored. it could be the end of the world and a hangout with him would have you wetting your pants laughing. jesus could be depending in the clouds and a few remarks from this man would force him to ascend back up let the laughter out then come back down. completely down to earth. respect.
You guys can go in so many directions in your 'casts. But the fact that you reach into the depths and mention Strikeforce Morituri, AND Marc says "We who are about to die...". I love you both.
+Sean “DragonStryk72” McTiernan yeah who gives a shit about the comic version, this is a separate universe and if they did it exactly the same then we would know everything going in plus they couldn't physically do that comics version due to rights, and characters not being introduce so who cares it is one of the best superhero and just action movies to date
+Sean “DragonStryk72” McTiernan Yea the comics would bring of the same points over and over and over and over. It's like "We get it" but, it wasn't a great balance between the two sides. Like I could understand Caps side way more than Tony's. It was a great idea but, it was a huge event in the comics. Stretched thin as fuck. This movie compacted and used what it needed along with working with how the MCU is now. I was wondering if people that seen the movie were greatly tight lipped on Caps death but, it didn't end that way at all. After seeing the movie I'm glad it didn't follow the comics closely. The brothers handled this story, movie, and turning point in the MCU better than I've EVER would have thought.
I doubt most people complaining actually read the comic, just complaining to lash back at people that justifiably complain about what DC is doing when they change the comic. The two differences is when Marvel has changed the stories it's usually for the better where as DC has done it for the worse, and despite changing aspects Marvel keeps the essence of the characters strong in their films where as DC has changed huge aspects of who there characters are. And the problem with that is that the DC characters are in essence already do good and no need to change them.
I didn't the ending coming either other than when they were going to Siberia and I remembered the trailer with Cap and Bucky fighting Iron Man. That's when I started to think something was up but even still I didn't see it coming until the flash back. I totally agree with you in that I was on Cap's side until the big reveal. Suddenly I was feeling it for Stark. Dudes, I loved Iron Man 2 more than Iron Man. I agree with you. Mickey Rourke going nuts with a bad Russian accent is gold, man.
Didn't they reveal in Winter Soldier by Zola that Hydra killed the starks implying they used Bucky to do it? So its news to Iron Man but not to Cap or the audience?
GREAT REVIEW!!! I have to go and see this movie again! It's like this movie went so fast and great that my emotions haven't caught up with me now! I absolutely loved this movie! Favorite parts 1) Ironman/Cap/WS end fight 2) Airport fight 3) Black Panther- everything about him 4) Spiderman- Everything about him 5) Falcon and WS banter back and forth- Falcon is perfect, seems like he's saying I'm Cap's new #1 and your stealing my thunder
Well i thought the reveal at the final third wasnt all surprising as Armin zola alludes to it in Captain america winter solider on the screen when he is distracting cap
By the way, the assassination of Tony's parents is seen in Captain America: The Winter Soldier, when Cap. and Widow are in the basement with Armin Zola or whats-his-face he shows them some microfilm with that info.
i cant believe you guys didnt talk about Sharon carter speech, 'compromise when you can but when you cant DONT. . . .even if everyone is telling you to move, plant yourself like a tree and tell them to move". . . .made me want to suit up. . . .
***** He can probably self regulate. I got the sense that they portrayed Peter with an ADD type caricature. Even in the film he mentioned that it makes it difficult for him to focus. So, he most likely can function fine; but the excessive sensory stimulation is probably highly distracting. All the more reason why he would wear devices to narrow his focus. I wouldn't be surprised if he also wore earplugs.
39:51 I honestly didn't think it was so surprising. During Winter Soldier when Cap is talking to Zola, he shows a picture of Howard Stark and says something like "sacrifices had to be made" stating Hydra killed Howard Stark. And in every shot they showed the Winter soldier killing someone in flashes. It seemed like a easy connection to jump to that Bucky was ordered to take him out. I also think he killed Kennedy apparently lol
Well ya. Super soldier syrum is from Howard Stark. And those packs were the Stark Industries blue. If you thought about it you could've figured it out, I didn't, but retrospectively it was obvious
+nytolstoy They clearly show that Bucky killed Howard in Winter Soldier. Zola says "Accidents Happen" and the picture on the screen are Howard and Bucky,
Grayson Myers Well actually no, the super serum was made from another scientist, a German one, Stark used his machines to make enough power to use the serum. I'm guessing over the next 40 years or so, Howard Stark was able to almost duplicate it.
47:27 Kevin Smith: The Russo Bros. used everything that went before. They let nothing be wasted. a very GOOD LESSON for these MCU directors of late, who seemed to just forget..or dismiss, or even think they can do one better than their predecessors and the stuff they left behind, like Cate Shortland and the writers (BW), Ann Boden and Ryan Fleck (CM) and Chloe Zhao (Eternals)... All these people got in common is they either didn't follow up what was set up or hinted at in previous movies (especially regarding Natasha Romanoff's past)..or tried to make a playful take on previous stuff but fell flat (Nick Fury's eye incident)..or repeated past mistakes and made even worse ones (overcramming Eternals with 10 NEW characters that the audience had no ideas about..with Age of Ultron..Whedon also worked with 10..11 if you count Ultron..but, at least, 6 of them were returning characters from the previous installment..and Joss was just in a league of his own as a writer). But, back to Kevin... clearly as a writer himself and a comic book fan, he recognized how the Russos and McFeely-Markus writing duo worked and what they did..which was following thru with the stuff Whedon, Favreau and they themselves had laid up in previous movies. but, most of all...these four guys nailed the movie's overall TONE.
"I can't go to Germany!"
"Why not?"
"I have homework"
Fucking perfect Spider-Man right there
That line single handily made me love this Spiderman
+BlackGod King1995 That 30 minutes he was in alone is the best Spider-Man incarnation.
+Black Lightning ⚡ One of my favorite things about Spider-Man is that even though he's not physically tough (he heals faster than normal, but he's as fragile as Tony Stark), he can hold his own in a fight with the biggest, baddest baddies. Adored it. 47 years old and gasped when Giant Man came on. Sweet times.

Reminds me of the daredevil hall scene

I lost my shit. Spidey was perfect.....

I'm glad to see others who liked the use of Zemo. I loved his role in the movie.

+Bruce Kent doesnt he also give cap a second shield
+Nate Robinson I think so
Awesome
Bucky killing the Starks was subtly mentioned in Winter Soldier.

+N Slater Wait when in Winter Soldier did they mention that? I missed it

"A delivery for TONY STANK!!!"
-Stan Lee 2016
LOL
hahaha
+Kevin Wu "..yeah...that's not going away anytime soon...."
reservation for Tony stank
I laughed during that scene but I just laughed waaaay harder reading it out.
I really hope they make Stan Lee the watcher.
My wife got broke down when they acknowledged Peggy Carter. That was perfect closure. And somewhat sucks if the series gets canceled now.
BvS: Stop fighting because of a mom.
Civil War: Keep fighting because of a mom.
You guys are the 1st reviewers I've seen who's actually mentioned the young Stark part and how good the CG looked. I was waiting for someone to say something about it lol.
I like how he mentioned Less Than Zero because that was exactly my first thought when I saw that scene.
52:48 ; called it on Sam taking up the Captain America mantle 😉

+Huboons See Dogma.
LOL!
not even he thinks that
I love Dogma, but clerks 2 is the funniest
Spider Man was so different in this movie! He fought differently, he slung his webs differently, all of his movements were different! He also felt like a kid! "You have a robot arm! That's so cool!" "Guys! They're not stopping!"
They made Falcon (worse Iron Man in the movies) into a really fucking cool hero!
They introduced the Vision + Scarlett Witch romance!!!!
They changed my favorite superhero to Black Panther!!!!
+Regis Bodnar Agreed! They made him seem powerful, yet naive, which is definitely an early Peter.
if this is what they can put together for Civil War, Infinity War is going to be like a Cinematic Event for the ages
Yep, and then they had the audacity to top IW with Endgame.
@@clarkbarrett6274 damn right
This movie is a big achievement being able to cram so many superheroes into one film...make it serious, humorous, and fun the entire time. All characters get a chance to shine..all while directed beautifully.
Yeah and for them to explain everyone's motivations without forcing it was amazing
These guys have such great chemistry together
+John Thompson they are so good together that it's hard to watch one of them alone.

He was actually part of the Sokovia special forces. So I reckon he has some intelligence gathering and combat experience. Just nothing that compares to super-heroes.

yeah Ross asking them about Thor and Hulk and comparing them to Weapons of Mass Destruction (which they are ABSOLUTELY capable of) was pretty damn clever
I love it and it just made my choice of, "team Cap," very easy.
yeah WE know... but Team Cap probably doesnt. nor does TeamIronMan i would say
+IH8YH likely true.
I know everyone loved Spiderman, lord knows I did too. But for me, the addition of Ant Man puts the biggest smile on my face.
+Joey's Singing Channel Very well put. He was so eager to please and impress, Rudd was so charming.
"I believe this is yours Captain America". "Yeah I'm ready arrow guy". "Aw man I thought that was a water truck". XD
@surfitlive HA! Yeah that's crazy right! That puts a smile on my face 😊
It also has some issues but other than that I would give it a 9/10.
they told you winter soldier killed the starks in winter soldier. thats why cap says i knew and didnt tell you
+Michael Balsamo Yup, Arnim Zola shows Cap and Natasha while they're in the bunker. So that also means that Black Widow didn't let Stark aka 'Stank' know either.
David Sykes yeah, it was just agreed its a bad idea to tell him haha
The reveal of Bucky killing the Starks is actually hinted at in The Winter Soldier when Zola is showing Cap and Widow of all the assassinations Hydra was involved with. They show a quick picture of Howard Stark.
+David Jordao That's how I knew it was Howard in the opening scene. The magazine article in Winter Soldier CLEARLY says Dec 17, 1991.
I know this is an old comment, but your comment relate to the scene where Iron man asking Captain "did you know?" which is brilliant continuation. Yes Captain knows, Zola told him, but he kept it from Tony.
John Doe I don’t think Zola told him but I’m sure he found out when black widow handed him the winter soldier file at the end of Winter Soldier.
U didn't give props to Bucky! I paid to see Civil War 4 times, and I'm still willing to go again
Bucky is the jar jar binks of the mcu
grafton2 How in the world did you come to that conclusion.
+grafton2 if anything, malaketh is jar jar
I figured out where the movie was going... when I was trying to figure out what the point of showing Cap, Bucky, and Tony a home video was. And knowing that SOMEHOW the three of them were going to wind up fighting, because of the trailers. So literally about 20 seconds before the reveal proper.
You see the Shakespeare resounding heavily in the Thor films-with all the family drama between the brothers, and tension between the sons and the father.
This is the best, most comprehensive review of the movie I've watched yet and I love it!
YASSSS!!!!
I skipped out of work and saw it by myself at a noon screening. Leaning forward, on the edge of my seat almost the whole movie.
I love seeing movies, especially ones I'm excited for, on my own.
The experience is more personal...b/c I'm alone...but I prefer it!
Great movie btw, worth the cinema fee.
I loved that little moment when ant-man said : "Here's your shield Captain America"
+sandra stevanovic Ant-Man was maybe my favorite thing about the movie. The way he fangirls around the Avengers just gave me pure, unadulterated joy.
+Daniel Arshad i love spoilers!!! why?? cuz that makes me even want to see it more!!! fangirling? yes please! cracking up just thinking about it
harley mama LOL I'm the same way. Luckily I saw Civil War before I got a chance to read any spoilers, but I still would've enjoyed it just the same.
Never commented on any video before in my life. But Kevin freaking Smith just sang Bowie/Labyrinth and my life has forever been made just a little bit better for it. Thank you!!
LOL!!! My favorite review of Civil War! I can't believe I didn't know this channel existed.
liked when Peter was going to explain his orgin and Tony cut him off
It's a highly entertaining film even with some of the slow world building plots in the middle.
yea i think IM 2 and 3 get more flak then they should. werent perfect but were definitely entertaining.
Nate Robinson I agree, as for pure entertainment I think the Iron Man trilogy may be my favorite.
Black panther/spidey show and Paul Rudd is just a delight
I stand with The Captain as my heart breaks for Stark.
It's almost as if Black Widow was on caps side the whole time and knew he would benefit if she pretended to be on Tony's side. Am I right or am I right?
+Moon SKeetz We all know Black Widow loves Steve ain't know way she's gonna betray him when push comes to shove.
Man, I wish I wish to be a guest on this show. Great review! Listened to the whole thing while shooting Hot Toys Ultron.
ShartimusPrime it's been a year on but I'd still love to see you on fatman on batman!
It's been 4 years and i just wanna see someone shart on this program
This is hands down the greatest most down to earth yet out of this world review ever fuggin LOVE YOU GUYS!
this is my second episode of this or so, but can i just say i think mark bernardin is a fantastic cohost? he riffs off of kevin so well, and he's not obnoxious, but still funny and uplifting. while also having knowledge of comic books and writing. just seems like a nice dude who has good hosting skills.
I liked how they used the Ant-Man post credit scene IN the movie. They should do that more. Gave me a smile when I realized what they did. So smart.
FINALLY SOMEONE SAID HOW AWESOME VILLAIN ZEMO WAS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!FUCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
If only Tony's mom and Steve's mom had the same name.
The Scene where (not Spoiling) and you can see the anger on Robert Downey Jr's face as the rage consumes him was amazing.
I feel like Kevin Smith is the only person who can constantly cuss and I will constantly laugh
it's implied in Captain America Winter Soldier that Howard was assasinated by winter soldier. during zolas explanation about hydra
+Nero Angelo Yup. It's pretty hard to miss that.
review starts at 10:30
Thanks
Thank you
Not all heroes wear capes
+ArtificiallyFlavord I skip the loot crate stuff at first then after seeing what you said I have watched it nice job mate
+John Patton tbh i found the Iootcrate bit really entertaining! i kind of wonder if Iootcrate watch it! :-)
Stark said he wanted to go along with the guv'ment to look good in Pepper's eyes.
"When you can do what I can do...and you don't. And then the bad things happen...they happen because of you."
Loved it.
I hope the Russo brothers make a black widow because she's the best version of herself in their movies.
I shit my pants when Bucky grabbed that motorcycle omg
sheet I've done that before
I could still be nerd high, but this was the best comic book movie I've seen.
Hell Yeah, Nerd High!!!
"The simple poetic beauty of a boy" - Kevin Smith, 2016
... I fuckin love you guys, don't EVER stop.
Empire Strikes Back, you mean that really old movie?
"That thing just doesn't obey the laws of physics" that is the great moment with Spidy.
wow, it actually was the Bluth stair car. Didn't catch it, good one brothers
to the people arguing about how Civil War wasn't like the comic books version.... the comic version was nowhere NEAR as good as the movie version.
exactly!
+Irongolem101 well, moreover, they botched balance, and Tony went straight down the Super villain tree, and hit most of the branches on the way down.
12:23 "Mark, we don't have to lower any one to raise someone up!" Way to come to BVS's defense! Love it!!!
GREAT REVIEW!!! I have to go and see this movie again! It's like this movie went so fast and great that my emotions haven't caught up with me now! I absolutely loved this movie! Favorite parts
1) Ironman/Cap/WS end fight
2) Airport fight
3) Black Panther- everything about him
4) Spiderman- Everything about him
5) Falcon and WS banter back and forth- Falcon is perfect, seems like he's saying I'm Cap's new #1 and your stealing my thunder
Civil War was so good. Can't wait to see it again!
Didn't Bucky take the mantle of captain America before falcon?
i cant believe you guys didnt talk about Sharon carter speech, 'compromise when you can but when you cant DONT. . . .even if everyone is telling you to move, plant yourself like a tree and tell them to move". . . .made me want to suit up. . . .
I Lol'd at Tony Stank :P
"I'm never letting that go. table for 1 for tony stank by the restrooms"
C'mon Kevin, how could you not mention Spidey referencing Empire Strikes Back?
+Matt Dargis Too baked to remember.
+Matt Dargis Right?? They even mentioned Empire in the review and didn't reference that part haha
i love how peter explains why he has the goggles on his old costume
+Corey Rivera Super senses give him super sensitive eyes. That is a pretty good excuse for the innovation of the costume.
*****
He can probably self regulate.
Kevin is right, the Bluth stair car is seen right before Ant-man throws the "water truck" at Rhodey lol
While I missed this, it makes me happy that it happened. 😝
I love the last line YOU DONT DESERVE THAT SHEILD CAP MY FATHER MADE IT
yeah that part hurt me bad man...it's was like the shield was the main reason cap and iron man are friends.
Captain America: Civil War is the most creative superhero movie ever made.
HAHAHA THE BLUTH STAIRCAR!!!! KEVIN SAW IT! I knew I saw it but it happened so fast.
What's the bluth staircar?
+Eric Slater go watch arrested development
Zola says "Accidents Happen" and the picture on the screen are Howard and Bucky,
Yea that's why i said lol that kept showing flashes of Bucky's arm and body.
Grayson Myers
Well actually no, the super serum was made from another scientist, a German one, Stark used his machines to make enough power to use the serum. I'm guessing over the next 40 years or so, Howard Stark was able to almost duplicate it.
i listen to this like a lullaby to sleep at night
to see you speak with the writers of this wonderful movie was a true treat. bless 2018
RDJ and Marisa Tomei were previously in Chaplin and Only You together.
