Pro-tip when you pilot a Hutet: The single phaser firing mode is automatically on. You need to manually turn it off in the tactical interface to unlock the ship's true firepower. Once you do so, you fire like 7 beams at once on the forward axis.
😳That is one massive ship the Cardassian Hutet.. wow... and the Excalibur ouff .. yes Battle of the Titans for sure... amazing.. and of course at 3:53 Brex or Felix said '' Sir'' and boom.. lol... just looked it up.. that ginormous Cardassian ship has 80 decks and crew 2500... the Excalibur has 52 decks and crew 1000... wow lots of room to get lost.. ouff... First time for everything Brex lol...😨I loved that Excalibur .. eeh was hard to watch ouchy.. again great battle Captain.. and that last battle , quite the Cardassian way of tactics. well done Captain... !! 😊🖖
Clash of the Titans lol Fun Fact in the Sins of a solar empire mod ST Armada 3 the Excalibur and the Hutet are the Titan ships for Cardassia and the Federation😁
It's hard to believe that even a Hutet could defeat an Excalibur class. Or that the Cardassians would have the resources or technology to build them. I have to imagine that they must have really gotten a lot of help from the Dominion for the Hutet class to come into being. It's a bit like a 'Star Destroyer', big, tough, lots of weapons, but kind of dumb. Still, you led it to an easy victory over a colossal Federation starship, so this is a dreadnought that can't be so easily dismissed. Also, Cardassian ships are forward-heavy in shields and armament, and seem to do best in multi-ship formations, you used it well to pull out a victory.
I think the Hutet was likely a response to the Federations Galaxy class ship line (given the time frame of when we were introduced to the Cardassians and how long it takes to develop and build such as ship) , they wanted something that not only could match it but beat it 1 v 1. The biggest problem I see with it is the 'Tiger Tank Paradox' where if you ask someone what was the best tank of WW2 they would say a Tiger or Panther tank but those tanks were not suitable for Germans as they required a lot of resources to build and when one broke down it was a nightmare to recover and fix, the same could be leveled at the Hutet IMO. The Cardassians should have developed and improved their existing line cruiser lines which would have been much better fit for them strategically given their position.
Okay, here's a good one. The Excalibur and a fleet of Federation ships (Galaxies, Sovereigns, Akiras, Centaurs, Intrepids, Defiants, Nebulas, etc) vs 3-5 Hutets.
Sovereign class alone can destroy hutet.sovereign class is very powerfull in kobayashi maru.more powerfull then excalibur class with right tactics. IT Has very strong shields.stronger then excalibur...
In the star trek comics the Hutet had a very powerful spiral disrupter lance also called the "Big Wave disruptor" it would fire from its wings that obliterate federation ships. it had alot of victories during the dominion war. i could be mixing up this video i watched a few years back though and not the actual comics. ua-cam.com/video/vZf3NPcq11s/v-deo.html
I find the armament questionable on the Hutet. It looks like a ship that should be broadsiding its enemies, not trying to line up a bunch of frontal weapons with its terrible engines.
It's apparently an artillery ship/ carrier. Vs anyone other than starfleet it'd be able to sit at the back of a fleet engagement allowing the rest of the fleet to soak up damage while it just deletes lesser ships.
@@RetroBadgerGaming The Hutet was completely disabled by the energy drain weapon, I gave up eventually as I couldn't finish it off. It's not just the firing arcs, there's something wrong with the ship. It was working great for my first couple of fights then it just stopped firing
@@RetroBadgerGaming Did some digging. There are definitely disruptors labeled in there... But they're tied to the main fire button, and yes theyre tight. The arc is above and fore to the ship. The Hutet can out ram the Excalibur by a long shot though.
isn't the Hutet supposed to have 6 massive spiral wave cannons on the front? this is a seriously undergunned version. also, the fact that it can only fire one beam at a time is STUPID and kinda defeats the entire point of being a mobile starbase, which is the entire point of the Hutet. be nice if you could launch its Hedeki's as well at least have them act as decoys.
That cardassian dred sucks in ever way compared to the Excalibur. Think you should do like some type of bracket fights all dreds aginst each other like in battle bots till theirs a winner. I wonder who will win
Both ships are a bit dumb, to be fair. I know you wouldn't see a lot of ship classes on-screen, but the idea that the Federation, and particularly the Cardassians, built gigantic warships in such a short space of time is a bit OTT. Nothing like creative licence!
both these ships are clearly absurdly OP or Underpowered. the hutet only won in battle 3 because of insanely lucky shots and the Excaliber seemingly being asleep.
I'll never understand why the Excalibur class is so popular. It's too big for its own good and it's ugly as hell. If it were half it's size it wouldn't be so bad.

The Hutets will probably collide with each other quite soon after spawning.
lb for lb cardassian ships are no match for fed ships.
we saw the achilles class destroy a hutet by itself in that dominion war game cutscene.
Starfleet almost always has plot armor.
SWEET! Thank you so much Retro.
1:21 they were only defeated because Gul Dukat was in command and was an overconfident pompus twit.
Well said Crikey!!!! 😊
It seems like the Excalibur didnt even fight back at all. You went completely unscathed. I demand a rematch!!!
Interesting how the staying at range helped so much. Try it from the excalibur side again but without using those phased quantums
That 3rd fight I didn't see the Excalibur move or fire at all

@@codyraugh6599 Ah that makes sense.
The Excalibur did not fight, befor you knocked out the sensors it did not move …
The Hutet should have monster spiral wave disrupters. Its the whole point of building a ship that big. Without them the ship is really pointless.
I tried doing Breen battleship vs Hutet. The drain weapon works great but the standard weapons are a nightmare! Just can't get them to fire!!
The Breen weapon firing arcs are a nightmare.. Did the Hutet end up winning?

not firing the Cardassian ship's disruptors?
@ Retro. It looks like the Hutet has a Disruptor Style weapon. Try G/Middle mouse. See if it does anything.
I will do next time. Wandering if it has a tight firing arc like the breen ships.

Like the big sea-cow Excalibur. Too bad the Prometheus beats it down.

I somehow beat the hutet with the defiant. No idea how I managed it (it was years ago).

If the Excalibur class fires back I think there is no Hutlet that could beat it.
