I remember thinking YEARS ago that a drummer is just a drummer. I was thinking like, a drummer is just for back-up, he/she's just there to complete the band but the more i watch these video's the more i realise how freaking necessary drummers are. The drummer is THE centerpiece of the entire band. Please don't stop making these pov video's, they are absolutely amazing.
It would be cool to see one of your band mates do this same pov for the show so we can see their perspective through the process. As much as I love your drum pov I’d love to see what these shows are like from your vocalists viewpoint
I'm so jealous! I got myself my first job to pay for e-drums here in Sweden 2 weeks ago, I had to work shifts about 7h per day after school and because I am under the age of 18, I legit only needed $500 and they fired me from the job by taking advantage of me before I hit the age of 18. Appearently it's perfectly legal here, and my teacher told me jobs exploit kids before they turn 18. It got me severely discouraged but I am looking for a new job now, I just hope it's not too late to learn drums and becoming hardhitting and fast with coordination. I have watched Eloy Casagrande and those guys for so long, can't wait any longer!! Wish me luck!
I'm 27 and have picked up the drums fairly recently and been progressing pretty quick you're good I've known drummers who are retirement age who can play with the best of em. You're far from too late haha! Hope you get a kit soon and remember never give up and never feel discouraged just practice hard and have fun!!

Gabe, I don't know if you'll see this with all the comments and things on the video, but I just really wanted to let you know how much your vlogs and I Prevail mean to me. They bring me so much joy watching what it's like touring from a band members POV, and getting to hear how you change fills in the songs for the live shows makes drumming that much more exciting from me. Thank you for everything you and everyone else in I Prevail (tour managers, techs, *everyone*) because you all are what make live music great.
Every time I see one of these videos I look at my drumset and regain all of the interest I had back when I first started. Thank you for being an inspiration to drummers everywhere!
Hey Gabe, I want to say i thoroughly enjoy these videos you upload, and while i know it takes some time to funnel through content, editing and managing it, i do love watching these. As a fellow drummer, you are living mine and so many other drummers dream that I could never make happen.😢 I am 35 years old and have played drums my whole life, done live fill ins, session/studio work but never got the opportunity to fulfill my dream career. I am blessed enough to own a restaurant and have a family that my time and attention are mostly given to; I get to watch these videos and feel that adrenaline and emotion that the stage brings. So whole~heartedly, thanks! You all stay safe out there and hopefully we might see you live if you all are near TN anytime soon! I hope this message finds you and your bandmates well and cheers! 🥂
The venue is called feidlers green it's one of colorado amazing outdoor venues i worked that show attitude sickness is real I see lots of acts get off stage so winded a thing that helps and I know this sounds weird take a cough drop or gum and chew it it helps
For those who are also curious as to why the curfew is so early: when Fiddler's Green was first built in Greenwood Village there were many, many fewer people living within a mile around the venue. Now there's people living literally a block down from the venue, so they voted in an earlier show curfew. Also, for people who come up to Denver: DRINK A LOT OF WATER. Like, way more than you think you need to. You'll get dehydrated way faster than you might think.
Hey gabe. I just wanted to come on here and say, as a Jazz Saxophonist, your videos have helped me learn how important it is to take care of myself (even if you are just a drummer), your lessons have helped me and others grow as a musician. Thank you. ❤
Thats so cool to see you druming from a POV perspective, that's really inspiring as a drummer to understand how you think in front of the kit ! It always give me new ideas on how I should aproach some type of patterns, and understand how it can work. Do you plan on releasing a full show from your gopro ? I would really love to see that !

Dude, I will say your subdivisions between beats is so clean, it's something I aspire to! There isn't really anytime where your double-bass or tom hits are "smooshed together" or sound like crappy flams! Keep it up Gabe!
Gabe, we're working on lawmakers to get coding on event venues updated. Severe weather is always a threat as a storm can go from nothing to tornado warned in under 20 minutes. What's the thresholds for these types of venues? Metallica had a few strikes on their towers this year saving what could've been a really bad event. My hometown in WNY is known for Darien lake, and I've been backstage with some bands during a mud fest. They never cancelled because there's a safety system in place and more than half of the field is covered. The people in the back didn't give a hoot. Mud pits everywhere. Now if the venue is outside and severe weather is predicted, what's the protocols? I'd think if the tornado risk is high, or even a derecho, they would cancel it. Because we sure didn't do that in Oklahoma when schools stayed in session and kids lost their lives. Much appreciated Gabe! Get active on x bro!
My most dangerous show was actually here in Denver! My GF's Ex threatened to shoot up our show and me and her specifically. (Blamed me for their divorce even though her and I didn't start seeing each other until after they had split!) Promoter paid for armed escorts for us both and had armed security around the venue. Worst part of the situation was the show was ON my birthday. We were direct support for THC and we didn't even get to catch their set. Ended up leaving right after our set and going elsewhere. The saddest part was guy eventually passed away from a single vehicle crash that we think may have been intentional. It ended up being a GREAT set, even though as the vocalist I was front and center on the stage.
I know this may not be read, but I lost my dad to cancer back on March 5th. It's been a roller coaster of emotions, but I want to say thank you I Prevail and BM for being the biggest motivators I have. Will I ever come see a I Prevail show? I really hope so, and maybe even a meet and greet so I can thank you guys for helping me out. From always wanting to play drums as well, watching these videos are just amazing!
