I think finally understand what this song is about, and the video helped me figure it out. Kate, just wants sex, not love, she just wants the boy’s “kiss” as in, she doesn’t want a relationship, she even says in the song she’s “not in love” and that she just “wants to be touched” and she says “whoops I think I got too close, cause now he’s telling me I’m the girl that he likes most” meaning, the boy likes Kate and has developed feelings for her other than just having sex and hooking up. And the shot where Kate is wearing a wedding dress at the altar 1:49 proves that when she throws takes off her veil and throws it, she has no feeling for the boy. Also, I think the title “Pumpkin Soup” is representing Kate’s guiltiness because saying you feel like “soup” sometimes means you feel guilty and hopeless. Just a thought.

Dunno why her music career lost the momentum it had then (support from her record label waned perhaps?). Some other really standout albums from 2010 were 'The ArchAndroid' by Janelle Monae, 'The Family Jewels' by Marina and The Diamonds, 'Body Talk' by Robyn, 'Fire Like This' by Blood Red Shoes and 'Treats' by Sleigh Bells. It was a great year for music! :)
the record labels didn't support or appreciate her but the rise of Kickstarter and her role in Netflix GLOW means there are several new Kate Nash tunes out there - a new album coming very soon and she's done two great tours in the last year - go look for her!

Kate Nash Pumpkin Soup-This festive pop song is a terrific song to listen to and another song that I happen to know because for some reason I felt drawn to hearing this song more by after the 2011/2012 timeframe though I have to credit having discovered this song from the UK version of now Thats What I Call Music 69. The music video is very lively and the music narrator definitely draws a music listener to listening both the song and this music video in a fascinating way because of the way she is pretty much admitting the more casual approach she is taking with someone who is clearly in romantic love with her.
Kate is amazing and individual , people always compare her to lily allen which is untrue as kate has her versatility and almost subtleness , lily is great too but in a different way . BTW the guy in the video is a friend of hers which is why he is in a lot of videos :-)

Never seen this video, but it seems like Zoooooey Deschanel borrowed a lot of her persona from Kate Nash. Remember what Zoooooey looked like in Elf? Incidentally a lot of the images I conjured when listening to this song are accurately represented in this video, bright colors, flowers, etc. I always imagined Kate going through life and everything she touching bursting into flowers, like a flower midas touch or something.
