Hows the transmission holding up?
@@jadedjay7861 I have flushed transmission twice, no more shutter, it has been 12k since the turbos. Just can’t punch it. Only roll into it. At first ran out money to rebuild transmission, but now that I have money don’t have the time. The shop is booked up.
Who were you going to take your transmission to? I am in San Antonio area and want to build mine before I put more money into my motor.
@@mingomtzjr6651 going to take it back to Steven (LMR) but they are booked. And now I don’t have the cash. But when I do have the cash, will be going to LMR.

Since helping my Dad build motors as a kid to now, I still find it amazing that engine stands and the back of the block are strong enough to support over 500lbs of engine off 4-6 bell housing bolts.
Its insane how much power and MPG these direct injected LT engines are capable of. Would love to see a video on recommended parts for the 6l80 to withstand the power.

I have this same set up on my 18 silverado. Been running 11psi for 60k miles so far on stock trans with no problems. Armageddon makes an amazing kit. Install was easy.

Are you running that on the 6.2 or 5.3? With stock internals? What numbers are you seeing if you don't mind me asking?

@@408_miguel_4 yes the kit will fit on both the 6.2 and 5.3's.
I have a 6.2 Litre. Transmission is 8L90. Had that “shutter” but after flushing the transmission via the GM memo and using a different type of transmission oil, no longer seeing the shutter. Initial transmission oil change was in August, mileage was 72 K, changed the oil again in first week of January, even though the shutter did not come back, I still went ahead and charged transmission oil again, mileage is 84K. From a dig, the transmission does not like the 600 horsepower at the wheels, transmission won’t shift for about half a second. But when I roll into the power gradually, the transmission shifts correctly. My boost is 7 PSI. The truck wants to keep on going but I left off the gas, scared the drive shaft will come apart. Motor has no problem providing the power, just have to get new torque converter, transmission re-built, drive shaft, differential and axles.

Truck is there now, going to pick it up later this week. Had head gasket blown.
got it back, very happy. Just got to make sure when I go to 13 PSI of boost, to be using MS-109 race gas.

Build a 4L80E, transgo2 , a few other mods, and stall converter, and it's a wrap !
Would probably need a stand-alone ecu to go from an 8l90 to a 4l80

Before being modified it has three transmission angle brakes, two upper ball joints, and the whole AC unit within 80k

Yes, looking into TK for rebuilding transmission, as long as I keep it 7 psi of boost, I’ll be ok. But I want to turn up the boost. Just gotta wait until a time slot opens up.

Awesome truck build. What's the best harmonic balance is best for 2014 chevy silverado 1500 5.3 z71 lt. Truck is still stock at the moment. Which balancer would take truck to next level stock and I can use on any upgrades. Thnx

Chromoly drive shafts are dope but expensive I would make my own though. Relatively easy. Tig welding
LT1 or L86? Or are you just interchanging the names since they are so similar?
Coming from someone who babied their 17' with the 6l80...he has maybe 10k miles before that trans goes. Mine went at 105k and the shop who rebuilt said that is about when they seen all the 6l80's go if not sooner
Just sold my 2012 Silverado with 6L80, had 196k miles on it and never gave me a moments trouble.
198k HARD miles on my BTR Stage 4 cammed FBO 2017 Tahoe PPV.
6L80E bone stock, the PPV does have more coolers but thats it. 412hp/381tq for the last 15k or so. Trans has been great. A lot of the issues can be remedied through the TCU. The 6L80 and 10L80/10R80 are another different animal just like DI compared to what all the Tuners are used to. They're plenty capable just not Ll tuners are up to it yet.
36,000 miles, transmission is still ok. Have changed fluids every 10,000 miles. Won’t have money for drivetrain until 2025.

I had a magnuson 2300, the turbos are much better.

Engine oil Temps good you say?,did you put a temp sensor on it, Stephen?Also no issue for drop ins for a 100k block? And you dont alway put miles on new rings,looks like most builds with new ring go right on the dyno,Stephen,what say you?

I had a lifter damage the cam, cam damaged main bearings, thus motor had to be taken out and sent to LME for a rebuild. So I am still not able to get new drive shaft and rebuild transmission. Couple of more years, should save up for drive train rebuild. But for now, it is hard not to stomp on it.

What does a set up like this cost and will the truck still be a daily?
Got 50,000 miles since installing the turbos, drive a minimum of 70 miles a day.

On something like this- a street vehicle, I don't understand the "Turbo" choice. Turbos are so much more complicated and so many things can go wrong. For this truck? Maybe a Magnuson blower and a few other little goodies? Enough. But, I'm poor. So....a comment is all I can barely afford.
Had a 2300 magnuson on it for two years. Also had gotten stainless works headers and cat back with x-pipe. Just wanted more power.
See, trucks can do it too!! Just makes me want to save up faster so I can supercharge my '13 F150 sooner!! Gona make my coyote howl!!
I might also want to give my brothers '86 Trans AM something to look at other than my headlights -_-

Its a 2017 so its a 8l90 all 6.2s came with the 8 speed starting in the 2015 year models.

Engine sounds good. Have stainless works x-pipe and dual mufflers. Got them when I had 2.3 Litre magnuson, which was five years ago. I’m happy the exhaust is still holding up. Now, that I say something, it will probably crack.
