Front: 14x6 225/70R14 Cooper Cobra G/T Back: 15x8 275/60R15 Cooper Cobra G/T Lifted the back about 3 inches and it created the exact look I wanted and does not hit the fender trim when I drive. Back when I was in school it was the only way to go and it's what I wanted recreate.
I’m usually with you, on my Nissan 300ZX I have them flush with the fender. Old school muscle car I like a little bit of a tuck. Totally depends on the car.
Very strange, I also have two sets of tires and rims. I have both the Mag 500's and the American Racing Torque Thrust D's. Of course the tires are the same size as mentioned below. Both setup are killer and you cannot miss with either set. I wish I could upload pics of my 68.
Man I absolutely love Magnum 500s on a Mustang, in fact the only reason I didn't go with a set on mine is because I already have a set on my Challenger! Figured I should change it up for the Mustang and get the Torq Thrusts.
On my 67 I have 235 60 14s on the back and I did have a 225 60/14 on the front but I had issues with alignment and ate up the tires but I did have to put spacers thin spacers on the front so that the tire would clear the upper control arm because it was rubbing on it
@@noboltsleftbehind I don't know the offset of the wheels I have are so that can play a role into it. But I have the 70s Ford Magnum 500 with the trim rings.
I have also had one of those ball socket linkages break. It broke a on silverado 2 hour from home in the middle of nowhere. I had to reach under the truck and put it in gear and roll out and jump in while it was barley moving. I drilled it out did a split pin with washers as well. Looked like a death defying circus act im sure. The e brake wouldnt work in the thing either.
New wheels look great. Do you think the 255s would fit with a different backspace? I'm running 275s on a 9"wheel the rear my 67 Cougar without the "roller skate" effect. 235s on the front
I’d say yes, there seems to be a enough room for a 255. Those 255s in the video are drag radials and they’re noticeably bigger than my 255 street tires.

Way too tall, and your wheels are too narrow for those tires.

ive made linkage from flat stock and a split pin and pin rod with washers. Cheap but worked fine. Was a 4wd tc linkage. Kinda same process you did.

ive got the same rims for dads 77 regal in 17x9. Still waiting on him to buy parts so we can get it on the channel more.
I like my tires flush with the fender lip, as wide as possible, but its all personal ecstatic choices :P

Interesting, good to know. So far my front 215s seem to be ok, I guess we’ll see when I start driving.

I got them from a website called Autoplicity, they’re Vision Wheels Legend 5 Series 15x7 Inch
What size are your front spindles? Original 67 mustang v8 or newer?
They’re the original ‘68 drum spindles.
