Gratulerer Brandon!
Congrats brother. I am a radiographer in Pakistan. I applied for x-ray nurse there in Sweden, my education assessment was passed a month ago. Now i will go for knowledge/proficiency test. I have zero command on swedish language but all tests are taken in swedish. Can you guide me about how can I prepare my self for language. Or any opportunity there in Sweden for language preparation? Or swedish language courses available?
Exciting! Yes it is very important to have good command of Swedish to be able to pass the exams. Each person has their own style to learn. For me, I needed something more structured. I paid out of pocket to study Swedish levels A-C in 11 months or so. It was really tough but I managed to pass and get my first job in home health right after that. It was quite expensive though. It was about 12,000 USD for the whole program. If you have enough self discipline there are books that you can buy and start learning yourself at home. I think the easiest thing to do is come to Sweden as a student and look for work while you are here but that cost a good chunk of money.
I would say to check out the nursing exam website as there are practice test there. Look at Quizlet as there are many practice questions there. Look at the socialstyrelsen website for more practice stuff and recommended books to buy.
I think for me the main challenge was the language. Also the expectations of nurses here. In Sweden the focus is more omvårdnadsåtgärder while in the USA the focus has more focus on medicine and higher level of care for very sick patients. So for example, nurses in Sweden need extra education to work in the ICU while in the USA, we are educated on a level sufficient to apply for jobs in the ICU and ER. I know my first job in America was in the ICU. There was also a lot of questions in Sweden about documentation but in the USA you learn most documentation on the job. In Sweden there is a lot of memorizing of specific international protocols like how much oxygen can be given in each type of oxygen device. There is a lot of focus in palliative care in Sweden too. We did not have so much education when I was in the USA for palliative care. That was more of an on the job training type of thing.
I only purchased one book and I did it towards the end. I did not use it much. It was recommended on the socialstyrelsen website for applying for your license. I recommend taking a look there as there is good supplementary material there which could be subject to changes.
We had urinkateterisering, v-sond, blodtransfusion, odling, PVK, olika injektioner, blodprov, drop med tillsats, sorry if I spelled something wrong. I am doing this on my iPhone and writing in two languages in the same thread so…
I hope and look forward to being like you and can say I can speak Dutch and be understood in two years.

So you passning 6 after 6 month. Did you get a feeling that lerning more about your field, got you to a better state of nursing?

How can you help someone on the process
I am offering coaching. Check out the link in my bio. I also have a video in shorts about it.
What are the books You had to purchase to prepare?
I only purchased one book and I did it towards the end. I did not use it much. It was recommended on the socialstyrelsen website for applying for your license. I recommend taking a look there as there is good supplementary material there which could be subject to changes.
Sir nurse has any age limit in sweden
I am not sure if I understand. To clarify, are you asking if there is an age limit to become a nurse in Sweden?
You can be my nurse anyday, still hope i wont need you though.
Hello! is there any chance that you remember exactly what the "14 different things" are on the practical exam? Thanks in advance 🥹🙌🏻
