I have always thought outside the box, lived and traveled around the world! I left the U.S. nine years ago, moved and bought a beachfront home in Costa Rica.🏖 I wanted to move to a peaceful, tranquil, and more freedoms country. All of my monthly utility bills are approximately $200.00. My annual property tax is only $450.00. My annual car insurance and road tax is only $45.00! There is no accumulating wealth in the U.S., between Federal, State, Local taxes, inflation, bills and fees.
Wow😯, am surprised by the difference…$45?for annual car insurance.Costa Rica must be tranquil…and less pressure.9yrs later your thought process must be that USA is so chaotic and so much pressure.Taxes be so high here especially with Federal & local. I must admit I wasn’t fully prepared for this
Absolutely, so many factors come into play including the side of town you live. I would say Seattle is definitely one of those cities with higher cost of living.
Sorry for the quiz I am about to ask coz it's not related to this video,it's a humble request, that's,could you please come up with a video telling us about the question(s) we should expect at USA embassy in Kenya during the Visa interview?
Hey Tony It’s actually a video that I have been contemplating on uploading…I recently just shot the video !Well,it’s not about the question but the DON’T during the VISA INTERVIEW )and it will be up on the channel next week on Wednesday .Hopefully you’ve subscribed so that you don’t miss out on that upload. And I hope once it’s up it answers afew of your questions & is helpful.
@@AbroadEyewithJenny thank you, after this I will also ask you about filling in of DS-260 form, most especially on the part of dates, coz on the dv lottery form, one is guided to begin with month, date and then year, does the same apply on DS form or we just use the Kenyan style of date, month then year...The DS form doesn't provide a guide.
Just a minute dear....You tend to 'say and think' that you are a minimalist, something that your friends and family would disagree with. Which would you rather have me (and others too, I presume) believe? Your opinion or your family and friends? From Nairobi with love.... Great video for monthly cost estimate
I am a minimalist for sure but I work so hard for the good things in life and plan around it…(I bet when you grow up inthe countryside you are programmed differently)I oftenly say I wanna give myself the best life has to offer and that’s why my friends/family would partly disagree. Either way I gave that disclaimer so that someone doesn’t assume that maybe the cost of living is higher because of my standards of living. And thankyou John for the love all the way from Nairobi ❤️
@@AbroadEyewithJenny minimalist or not I respect people's lifestyles and views even if they might differ from mine... Either way it's life we think differently. I got this feeling that you might not be a minimalist (I can be wrong) but it's ok either way as well. Call me Kelli, I'm used to the name than John. And be prepared to receive a request for hosting from me when I finally get my Visa. I'm a DV 2025 entrant!
As a tech hub, wages are generally on the higher side, just that not everyone gets paid tech type wages so some people definitely feel the pinch of high cost of living
Taxes are imposed by your employer meaning when you get your salary they have already deducted taxes. There are certain states that don’t impose State taxes on your salary but instead they include it in the price of products and commodities inform of a sales tax.For example in Washington we don’t pay state income tax instead we pay Federal income tax
Fst to comment... this gal anafanya kazi poa guys let's support her by sharing her videos 🤙
Thankyou …nashukuru for the support.

Wow your rent is high. My mortgage in NY is 1700 inclusive of property taxes and insurance. It's good to see the different costs.

@@AbroadEyewithJenny True. NYC is expensive. Upstate NY is fair.

My goal was for the video to be informative,I am glad it was an eye-opener ❤️
Gas $ 350 or was that the car payment? Or did you not include car payment if any.
$350 is an estimate of the amount I spend every month on gas…and no I do not have any car payments.

I think so too😉 if only I was so rich aki to just be on the move…so bless me Lord
Very helpful but I hope that the average jobs equally pays well there generally otherwise it would be very very demanding to live there

Nice content, did you win a Green Card?
No🥹 but that’s always a big deal
@@AbroadEyewithJennydid you file for asylum?
No but that’s one of the ways you can get a green card
Just wondering because you came with a B visa which is a visitors visa and it has a time limit. I’m a US citizen.
There are several visa categories and no I didn’t come on a visitor’s visa

hey gal
Hey
You either reduce the light or edit your exposure and white balance in your video . Your face skin over exposed
Cut down your exposures in edit before posting. Though your getting views but not good for your future chanel
If you read the description then you would extend some grace because I have given that disclaimer…everyday is a learning experience
