I wish I could pay for the "too close to home" membership. My city(or cities, as it's 3 cities in one, called Tri-Cities Washington) has 2 true crime cases that I'd love for you to cover, not to mention the Hanford power plant is located here, it helped build the atomic bomb. The first one a husband/father just snapped and killed his wife and kids. The father/grandfather of the wife and kids came to check on them, only to look in the window to find the husband just sitting down watching TV not answering the door. So he checked the other windows and found his daughter and grandkids in a pool of blood.
The second story is even more gruesome. A pregnant woman went with another lady to look at baby items she had to sell. Well later that night the lady selling the baby items went to the hospital with a newborn baby saying she had just given birth. When the Dr's checked her, they found she had never given birth and questioned where she got the baby. They called the cops and that's when they found the actual mother dead in the park. They're 2 very sad stories that haunted tri-cities for years. I'm sure there's more stories here that you could find. But those are the 2 that always stuck with me because of how horrible and sad they were.

My parents are buried in the Cemetery Belt in Queens, in the Middle Village section. Locals there call it the "City of the Dead."

I'm fascinated by old cemeteries they are a part of history after all that contain real bodies that once lived lives on this planet and many of them still have descendents that are living today

Ooh, thanks for talking about Queens! I live here between two of huge cemeteries and love walking through them. I haven't been to Houdini's grave (that cemetery is quite a distance away), but I hope to find it someday :)
I'm sure, if you googled it, you could find directions to it online. Unless, of course, you're rather just search for it on your own and come upon it one day. I understand this.
My hometown got picked!!! I live next to the castle grounds in Antrim. Brought up with the stories. Never seen anything though.
I grew up in Glendale! I’ve been through those cemeteries. Never knew.
Houdini's appendix was already inflamed by the time he was punched. The punch just pushed it over the edge.

Cypress Hills Cemetery in Cypress Hills Queens encompasses miles of land. Mae West & Harry Houdini are both buried there. Yes, I'm from Queens. It is literally built right up to the wall of the Franklin K Lane High School in Woodhaven NY.
11 years for murder, that isn't justice. I thought Queensland was soft on murder, but WA takes the cake.

Man if I were Houdini I would arrange to have a regular grave plot and then pay off a mortician to secretly cremate me so if for any reason someone decided to exhume me they would just find an empty grave, one last hurrah.

St. Ita's Hospital, Portrane, Dublin. Opened 1903. If it ever comes up just hit me up. My Great Grandad, Grandad, Nanny, Great Aunt, Great Uncle, Mammy all worked there along with countless family friends and it's still open albeit on a much smaller scale, although they've opened the new central mental hospital on the grounds for criminals and I hate using the word, those found "insane" are sent after conviction. My Nan bless her when she'd get a fright she'd shout "oh jaysus Laura" I asked her one day who's "Laura" she told me it was a patient that was cared for in St Ita's and she used to hide and sneak up on nursing staff, and when Laura passed people did feel eerie where her bed was or where she'd sit in the communal hall doing activities etc. I've more stories if interested, an I know a handful of people that still work there.

The 1st story shows my Great Southern Land's disgusting justice system. To move away from our convict history we went ridiculous into having the most lax legal system in the world if not near enough. As much as i don't wanna joke about the poor girls horrific murder, we have a joke here in Australia when a married couple celebrate a wedding anniversary. People ask, how long youse been married? No matter the amount of years they say the response is, You'd get less for murder & unfortunately that's true, even tho it's meant as a joke. In saying that at least he was deported so Aussie taxpayers aren't paying for his luxury stay in our nowaday 5 star prisons, just ashame the poms didn't lock him as soon as he arrived in a deportation to be put in prison in Pommyland type situation

I was born in Waterloo IA in 1968, the same year that John Wayne Gacy was convicted for sodomy. In 1987 I moved to Wichita KS, A few years prior BTK commited his last murder there and was loose the whole time that I was there. In 1996 I moved to Tulsa OK where I still live. Wonder if there is anything else I need to know about good old Tulsa?

How many people are on that tier? They do one too close to home video every one to two weeks. Only five people get chosen each time. I'm sure more people are joining all the time too.
Also, perhaps others home towns have more stories, or stories that the creators are more interested in, or are easier to find. YOU chose to spend the money knowing that you might not get picked. I'm sure it says somewhere that you don't have a guarantee to get chosen. The people at Top5s work SO hard to bring us all this amazing content, and you're having a cry because YOU chose to spend money on something?
