Dimash sang this song for the first time in September 2018 in Sochi, Russia, as a special guest at the New Wave Festival (organized and co-owned by the famous composer, producer and music tycoon Igor Krutoy - after the song we see him rising to applause, in white shirt). Dimash sang this song at a special concert by A'Studio (accompanied by him). Composer of the song (which was written in 1998) is Baigali Serkebayev, who plays the keyboard. Dimash created a new, amazing version of it.
Dimash took second place overall in the Chinese TV (Hunan Tv) I am a singer (The Singer) competition in which he participated (14 weeks - 14 episodes - 14 songs) in January-April 2017.

This wasn’t the same competition as before which was The Singer competition in China. This is a performance in Russia and he’s singing in Russian. The audiences there tend to be more reserved. The guy standing in the white shirt at the end is Igor Krutoy a famous Russian composer who came out of retirement to work with Dimash. He’s composed many songs for Dimash and often accompanies him on the piano. They are great friends. Loved both your reactions btw. ♥️

However, he had an audience (on Chinese national tv) of about 2 BILLION people---and they all fell for Dimash and his wonderful voice. That night, he went to bed in his hotel room, a singer. The next morning, he woke up a star. When he went down to get coffee or something, two big. husky guys fell into step beside him. He was confused, and they told him, "You don't walk alone anymore." It was because he was too valuable, after the performance of s.o.s.,a to be allowed to take a chance of going anywhere without guards. That was the beginning of his real career. About a year later his first record album was put on the market and it went platinum in 37 SECONDS!

Not true. He made a poor song choice in the final - a dodgy MJ medley - and the winner, Sandy Lam - is a fine vocalist, and made an excellent choice of song. I'm sure Dimash learned from the experience, and more importantly, would not wish to make excuses, or deny his competitor her due. In 2018, Singer was won by the British singer Jessie J, who actually came first in six episodes of the season, a record for the series. So, respect to the producers of the show, and all of the competitors.

Sandy Lam won the Singer competition in China. She is the woman with the asymmetrical haircut that is always watching attentively and applauding generously. She's a Chinese national treasure with a long established career and many, many fans. (She was about 48-49 at the competition) Keep in mind, it's 13 episodes. Dimash won 3; SOS, Opera 2 and Adagio. He placed second over all. The audience does the judging. Dimash started as an unknown, but the morning after SOS the clip had had millions of views overnight and he was literally an overnight superstar in China.

I did. I took the time over a couple of weeks to familiarize myself with the other performers and to understand what they were actually did at this contest. They were good, very good. And as much as I love Dimash, it's no surprise to me that every one of his I Am Singer performances doesn't get the same level of attention as SOS, Opera 2, Adagio, all 3 of which won him first place.
Audiences also go to an event like this with pre-existing allegiances. They already love certain performers and intend to vote for them. Sandy Lam is really good, and a national treasurer. It doesn't surprise me that her fan base - loyal for 30 years - supported her.

He was singing in russian in that one (since he's from Kazakhstan, you guys will see him singing in kazakh and russian a lot! haha)
This performance was from a competition called "new wave" in 2018, that took place in Sochi, Russia. But Dimash performed as a guest in this, he was invited by Igor Krutoy (the dude that gives him a standing ovation at the end of the song and the one who created the competition).
Dimash came in 2nd place in a competition called "I am singer" in 2017 and it was in China.
About new wave, he had amazing performances in this event in 2019 as well, such as "know", "passione", "love of tired swans", "love is like a dream" and "mademoiselle hyde". You guys should check those out, they're also amazing ❤

Also in my opinion, Dimash got 2nd place because he was a last minute wildcard contestant pick and he was a foreigner in China so they didn't plan for him to win but they didn't expect him to be that good so because it's a Chinese competition, they gave 1st place to a Chinese woman who is a great singer but no where near the vocal master he is and he is so humble that he was fine with 2nd place but we Dimash fans know who really won that competition.

Ok I will tell you but to make a story short in I'm a singer in China 2017 there are so many who protest not only chinese people but those people all over the world asking why did he not won in the competition simple because that is not his country period look 2015 the winner a chinese lady name coco 2016 a chinese lady again name han hong now 2017 her name is sandy lin a chinese again. But... but never mind after the competition Dimash has so many performances schedule in China and if you are a followers as his DEARS Dimash have more awards in China when he stay for 3 years to have more appearances in all celebration of China, a big festivals in China. Thats why in 2018 in I'm a singer Jessie J won in the competition she is an American lady so that they would not say that its unfair if chinese competitor again will win the contest. But they should do that in time of Dimash bec. only Dimash sing more than 5 languages in that contest. Well thats finish already but now he is the greatest vocalist in the world. And Dimash is now No.1 in MTV of Kevan SB19 no.2 now. In my opinion the competition in China....Dimash won hands down and shouldn't have taken 2nd. However, because it was a Chinese promoted competition in China, I can see where a Chinese singer would have won over him for "optics" purposes.
Don't get me wrong, the Chinese singers were good, but not like Dimash. That's just my opinion though and well, him placing 2nd rocketed his career, so he still won in that regard. I was so angry how America treated him when he competed here in the U.S.

Here Dimash was invited to perform as a guest for the first time! And this year , Igor said he invited Dimash to perform once and be a judge of the summer contest!

Just an FYI, He quit that show as he wanted to give others a chance to win. He was in the Finals but had to compete against two children, whom Dimash thought wasn't right. Therefore he quit.
Russians generally aren't much for standing ovations, historically preferring to give flowers. Sandy Lam won Singer 2017. I hear a lot of theories, here's mine after watching. A) it's a tough competition, invite only to established acts. B) really all the acts used their best songs early in the competition, just to stay in it (just my opinion). C) Sandy Lam is a fine singer, still attractive in her early 50's and very well known, long career. I think as the end approached (13 episodes) and the songs from both artists "less shiny" and Dimash's early successes fading in memory a bit, that sentimentalism played a factor, as the judging was done by the audience. So no big conspiracy, just human nature. Dimash certainly profited, professionally, more than anyone though. You should watch the Moscow performance as well.

The only reason they didn't pick Dimash to be in first place because he doesn't sing in one genre, they thought people wouldn't listen to his style of music, since then Dimash has taken the world by storm, when he has concerts

This performance was after "I Am Singer". It wasn't even in the same country. This was performed in Russia.
This was early in the Krutoy/Kudaibergen relationship. Very early in fact. Dimash had studied Krutoy music much of his life. Krutoy invited Dimash to sing at his own venue, as well as being the invited guest of A'Studio to sing a remake of their famous song 'Sinful Passion' ... well, you see the result as well as the birth of a fruitful relationship between Igor Krutoy and Dimash Kudaibergen.

hey guys, Dimash didn't come first in the Chinese show only because in China don't allow foreigners to win on state run tv competitions, but in the hearts of many including his Chinese dears he did win. In fact apparently there was so much flack about him not winning, the following year Jessie J, who participated in the competition did win first place. Chinese Dears hold Dimash in very high esteem, so his fans are in the millions there.

Band's not phased because they haven't played this song in so many years because the original singer died in 2015. Trust me they're amazed by King Dimash but they're also trying not to break down. Dimashnt was born with perfect pitch, to 2 opera singers. His other gift was an intense, passionate love of singing, even as an infant. When he was 5 he got his dream, to go to Music Academy, and from that time on he has trained every day. He loves to work hard at training his voice, and practicing for performances. He has never lost his passion for singing. And you're right-EVERYONE should stand during the applause after he sings--yes, they should even bow down to him. His voice is a miraculous gift to the world. May I suggest that you watch "Love is Like a Dream"? About 2/3 of the way in, you will see him turn into an angel right before your eyes. And at that time, comes about 30 seconds of the most exquisite music ever known to human beings. Another incredible performance is "Adagio"--his most passionate performance of all time.

This is after the Singer 2017. The man in the audience in the white shirt that stood up is Igor Krutoy. He is very well known in Russia and surrounding areas in the music industry. He actually came out of retirement to work with Dimash.

Yes!!! It's 20 sec. without breading at all with runs and melismas..... This music is from the 90's from that band on stage, the "A'Studio" from Kasakistan but well known and famous in Russia. It was arranged for this special event, in that way by the pianist it's composer. The original doesn't seem the same. Dimash made a brilliant piece of art in this one. He's from Kasakistan and speaks 4 languages, but sings in some 12 different languages...(Go check his Wiki Info... at Music College they have to learn opera composers in Italian, Spanish, German, Russian, French and English).... That white-shirted man who stands ovation in the front row, is the world's famous Russian pianist, composer and lyricist Igor Krutoy. After this performance by Dimash, he decided to leave his retirement, and come back to compose for Dimash, as well as reviewing some of his works that still had no one to sing them... till today...
