So glad I came across your channel. I'm scheduled for a crochet install on Tuesday I'm embarking on a cruise on Saturday. This is my first crochet. In general, I'm a novice with using extensions of any kind. However, I took your advice and washed the new hair. I followed your instructions and the hair came out beautifully. It was worth the risk to rid the hair of the chemicals and "gunk". I chose Afri pre-stretched Caribbean Water Fall - T1B/30. Will keep you in the loop. Thanks for your time and effort.
Thx sis will start doing this i wondered y my head itches so in certain spots in my head after install i literally thought it was bc those spots were super dry
Exactly. Some people don’t realize all the film and coating they put on the hair. My scalp is super sensitive so nothing touches my hair unless it’s cleansed
Thanks for sharing! I believe you said in one of your videos, that you don’t leave anything in longer than 4 weeks.. My question is: How long do you allow your hair to breathe before doing another protective style, (such as a crochet style)? Thanks!
@@AliciaGettys I love your videos! You are beautiful and your natural hair is to die for. I have to say though if someone is allergic (like me) rhat the acv method plus this works. If I just do this method I'd be in the hospital 😆. So I just wanted to ad the acv helps tremendously to remove the film especially for someone that is allergic. You've helped me with the conditioner part. And fyi the smell actually goes away once it dries. Keep up the good work. Love ya😉
I still wash every single hair that I put close to my scalp! My organization isn’t YT worthy. Take the wig tag from the box, put that and the wig in a satin cap, put in box I have holding my wigs
Did you ever figure out what you were doing wrong or did you get a response? I was wondering this is well. Because when I wash the crochet hair when it's still installed in my head a lot of times it makes it frizzy and dry. Thus, I was hoping someone responded to your question.
I think this is a great idea to do...i never thought of it. What if the crochet hair is silky, would you still recommend this process? I tend to have a problem with the hair staying in bcuz its silky....I dont want to do this if it will keep the hair silky.
Hi! No this is specifically for silver hair textures. I have another video coming this weekend on how to wash your coarse hair textures (Jamaican Bounce). Thanks for watching!
I learned that from you on your Go Go Curl install video. It does make a big difference to prewash & condition. The one question I have is how do you get so much volume in the top, mine always seem limp?
LivinFearless87 can you help me 👏🏽 I purchased 100 percent braiding human hair wet & wavy ( bulk) I’m installing micros in my hair. I did one braid and noticed a little smell of chemicals and braid was a little itchy can I use this method 🙏🏽
To give it extra time to sit out in the elements. Because I didn’t apply conditioner or wet the hair, I like to give it more time to be exposed outside of the packaging.
This does not make sense because the hair products are made from plastic. Your just putting grease on plastic. Better to place conditioner on your scalp. Plastic can’t be conditioned.
Can we talk about her natural hair 😍
My thoughts exack'ly! ♥ Wow!
Yess, it’s beautiful. I was getting ready to ask what hair is it 😍
It's gorgeous.

I've been watching your crochet tutorials for the past few months and I love them...I'm definitely trying this out before I install ❤❤❤❤

@@AliciaGettys omg thx I finna try this too.
I do this also except I boil my water to get warm that way the conditioner melts and is easier to absorb-then air dry
I’ve never done this but I will from now on!!
Oh my goodness, this helped so much! Thank you. I'll be using this technique very soon! 💜
Thanks for the support!!
Your natural hair is beautiful!

How long will it take to dry? Great video❤. Also what are your tips on cleaning synthetic braiding hair? Thanks ☺️
THANK you for sharing. You're so nice and professional. 🌹
Thanks for the great tips🙌😘 Have you the hair in this video before?
Do you prefer this over the ACV soaking method?
I do strictly because of the smell. It feels like I have to do double work just to get the smell off the hair.

Thanks for the info! What hair did you use for your hair style please?
Hi! This is my natural hair
Is this the same thing you do for your synthetic wigs?
Hi! Can you share the link to the hair you’re reviewing. I’m sure I can turn that wefted hair into clip-ins.
Or can you please give the name of it?
Thank you. I'll try this.
It really makes a difference in the knots. Especially for silky hair textures
Thank U, I will start doing this!😁💖
First! I absolutely love your hair in this video! Is your twist out?
Thanks for watching! It's a Wash and Go.
I have in freetress deep twist right now & it itches so bad, & is breaking out my back & face omg
Yeah it’s definitely prob the hair
Omg so am I.. I knew the hair was the problem because my face has never broken out before
Is this your natural hair in this video? If not, which brand is this, please?
Can I use leave in conditioner?
Do you still do this now 2021 and wigs too? Also need a wig organization video, so many but need storage ideas. Thanks
I still wash every single hair that I put close to my scalp! My organization isn’t YT worthy. Take the wig tag from the box, put that and the wig in a satin cap, put in box I have holding my wigs
Love your hair 💖
Thanks! Ole fashion wash and go
Mine came out super frizzy and I have no clue how to fix it

Oh ok...I have questions for the Jamaican bounce hair but I'll wait for the video...you may answer them in the video😁. Thank you for responding.
What is the hair that you have in??? Gorgeous🤩
Hi love! This is actually my natural hair.
@@AliciaGettys your hair is gorgeous! Thanks for all the helpful info 👌🏽 quick qurstion: How long does it generally take for the hair to dry?

Great question! I have the same issue and would love to know as well.
What kind of hair do you have on in this video?
It's her natural hair. Wash and go.
Can you use that as crochet braids if you cut wefts off?
susan johnson yeah , you should be able to
Is that the hair you have in your head currently?
Hi!
No, this is my natural hair
LivinFearless87 It's beautiful!!
What kind of hair is that?
It’s in the video love 🤍
can I do this with lulutress hair?
Yep!
Ty😊
do you do this with straighter hair? Or just with the silky curly textures? do I need to pretreat Kima Ocean Wave?
I would pretreat any crochet hair before installing. All hair is coated with that film that needs to be removed.
LivinFearless87 can you help me 👏🏽 I purchased 100 percent braiding human hair wet & wavy ( bulk) I’m installing micros in my hair. I did one braid and noticed a little smell of chemicals and braid was a little itchy can I use this method 🙏🏽
Why not shampoo
Just a preference in how my hair feels
Which curl pattern is this? #Thanks
this is my natural hair...just a simple wash and go
@@AliciaGettys Wow!! sooooo beautiful!
is it for human hair or synthetic?
It’s synthetic
Why do you wait so many days before you use it for the coarser hair?
To give it extra time to sit out in the elements. Because I didn’t apply conditioner or wet the hair, I like to give it more time to be exposed outside of the packaging.
This does not make sense because the hair products are made from plastic. Your just putting grease on plastic. Better to place conditioner on your scalp. Plastic can’t be conditioned.
Try it to see if there is a difference. I did for the first time. Made a huge difference.
