What an excellent doco . I am a 63 year old Scot lived in Australia for most of my life and this is revelatory. There is always talk of AC DC being of Scottish descent but it is great to see where they came from and the influence of the musical culture in Scotland. Is there a cd set of this as a compilation ? Some music and some dvds , unbelievable.
Norm, you could check out "Old Grey Whistle Test" Whispering Bob Harris on youtube lots of stuff there and Alex Harvey stuff. All the best for New Year. Lucky buggers you have Taj Farrant now. ua-cam.com/video/xYiMjYgOFP8/v-deo.html Found part 2
Thanks Ken. Great work! After 37 years [I must have been gigging when it first aired lol] I finally caught up with Jock’n’Roll Part 1 and what an even more fantastic [if sad] piece of Scottish musical history it has now become as a result of the passing years. Why is this programme not being repeated by the BBC whilst some of us are still around to see it? I did of course play a major part in your [demolished] Picasso club segment which we discussed at length when you treated me to dinner in my local Kilwinning hotel in 1979 during research . . . and of course you made good on your promise to get B. A.‘s autograph for my 13 year-old daughter. Great memories indeed. Best regards Edward
Hi Edward, how nice to hear from you. Part II isn't on youtube because of a copyright issue but I might edit the offending bit out. I hope you are well and I'm now going to read your book. Ken
