- www.RoadTestTV.com Civilian owned 2019 Dodge Challenger Hellcat RedEye makes three (3) impressive 1/4 mile passes at Palm Beach International Raceway on January 9, 2019.
The RedEye's Demonized 6.2L Supercharged V8 makes 797 Horsepower and 707 lb-ft of Torque. The RedEye has the same 2.7L supercharger as the 840 HP Demon, but has a few less horsepower as the trap speed and ET show. This particular RedEye was bone stock except for Weld Wheels in the rear and Mickey Thompson Drag Radials.
The Redeye with the drag radials pulled a stout 1.47 60 foot which led to a solid ET. However, the horsepower advantage of the 840 hp Demon is clear as most well driven stock Demons are running 9.9 - 10.0's and trapping 135-137 mph, whereas the RedEye trapped 127 - 128 mph. Trap speed tells horsepower.

I'm a lifelong Mustang fan/owner but I've been a big fan of the new Challenger ever since it came out and they just keep getting better. I'd love to own one if I ever have the means. Keep up the great work Dodge, I hope you keep kicking ass, leading the horsepower wars and building these incredibly awesome cars.

How many miles on the car?
I have one that I ordered in July and took delivery late November; it is an awesome car. For those talking about him leaving late, he is doing that on purpose as he is not racing against anyone just himself trying to get a good launch and time to see what the car is capable of. His runs are good and clean, good job!

Quality oil and fuel makes the difference. I ran my RT hard from day 1 with only 7 miles out the lot. Never had any issues other than water pump failure once. Gave me a solid 300K miles

I'm sure this car is a little over 800 at the crank. Dodge like to understate there cars. Hell alot of car brands do nowadays.
It makes more power, dodge is known for making more than advertised
128mph at 4500lbs is about 728whp. 10.57 at 4500lbs calculates out to about 754whp. Add about 100hp for drivetrain loss. Car is underrated at 797hp but Dodge wants to protect the Demon

The Demon was supposed to get it's ass kicked by the Mustang Gt 500 , Ford had yes longer and delays to do just that. The top 1000 runs at the track from the Demon and the Same number for the Ford showed just how much Ford dropped the ball by having all that extra time, all the delays and then BIG MOUTH employees talking shit ( the Demon killer?)
Anyhow the top 1000 runs averaged out looked like this.

My Demon runs 129-131 on the same track in the same weather on 808 tune. In the HEAT of summer it ran 128 & 129 traps at PBIR... now its 131 in this weather

Not using the transbrake or launching on boost.....So, if he had 350 lbs removed and used the brake to launch on 8lbs of boost.... that was definitely a 9.90 run....
I’ve seen the 808 tune run 10.0-10.3. The 808 demon should be faster either the suspension and 3.06 gear not even using the trans break

That is incorrect, I have a Redeye and the standard ratio is 2.62:1, you can look it up or go to www.dodge.com and build a vehicle and see that the 3.09 is an option.

Yeah, you can't deny what a beast this car is, especially with all of the weight it's hauling down the track. This is a blunt force trauma muscle car through and through that bruises a lot of egos. I always tell people who hate, just put this car on a diet and you'll really get your feelings hurt. Fast is fast, and you get a nice factory warranty to go with this performance.

Greatest HITS on my Demons stock Nittos at 17psi I was able to cut 1.47 60’ times, the redeye should be extremely close or equal with Nittos. I bet you’d see his mph go up by 1 as well.... 12psi is really low IMO (I run the same tire @ 18)
Southflorida Nick the demon is 14psi, and the nittos are able to run 9.90 with 93 octane and with 100 9.65 but since not a whole lot of track are that sticky for the nittos then that’s when you get some mickeys or Hoosier.
Greatest HITS 17psi was referring to tire pressure, not boost.

Michael Cass it was driven by a UA-camr who had never been to a drag strip before. He was inexperienced and got a 10.6, so that means a professional probably can maybe get 10.5 out of it on stock everything. Shelby won this round.

Ray Rocco Speed Phenom was the first to get 10.6, Revan Evan got his later on. The problem that you’re not bringing up is the packages. All the GT500s that motortrend and such were getting had the track package, which is much slower in the 1/4 mile but excellent on the track. The ones Speed Phenom and Revan Evan don’t have the track packs, which is why they’re getting faster times. It’s also the reason they got their cars earlier that most consumers.
Ray Rocco Ray Rocco I mean speed phenoms first vid was pretty legit, you can see the camera track the whole sequence. Also drag times clocked in a 10.6 as well. In terms of the redeye times, the 9.8 was done in a modded redeye, and the 10.2 and 10.3s are done with drag radials, I’ve yet to see a 100% stock redeye (with factory tires) break the 10.8 barrier, but if you have links I’d love to see them.
Edmunds actually just did a review of all three cars together (Redeye, GT500 and ZL1), and the GT500 won every drag test they ran, despite having the worst launch of the three.
Also another plus with the 500 is that it was track tested against a Porsche GT3 RS and was 0.2 seconds off it’s lap time which is insane for a 4,200lbs car.

They all had to be factory stock down to the wheels and tires

Actually, track prep is far more complex than simply spraying "glue" down and making it feel (and sound) sticky... PBIR isn't known to hook that well compared to others (Orlando). If you walk on the starting line at PBIR you'll see all the rubber missing / scalloped. I have HUNDREDS of passes at PBIR over the last 2 years at Test & Tune / private events, it's good but definitely not amazing. I have never been able to launch my Demon very aggressively there (more than 1500 rpm or use the transbrake) or it blows the tires off... I have MT ET Street R....

That is hooking very well. On the street it most likely won't hook up at all so it'll be useless there just like the Demon. Stil impressive what they can do now with these big motors. It almost seems effortless for it to haul itself down the track with all that weight it has.
My bosses hellcat ran a 10.4 with catless mids, i3 tuner, unlocked pcm, and a 285 upper pulley. A lot of potential in these cars. That was with et street R's. 1.5 60 foot.
