  • The first ever launch/test of the amphibious driving houseboat, "Beast Of Burden." A detailed documentation of the day's event, sharing the emotion and excitement faced, as Captain Theon Parseghian risked it all.
    Big thanks to everyone for coming out to the launch and sharing the experience. Sorry took so long to get this up.
    "You can do anything you want to do. This is your world." - Bob Ross
    The appropriately named “Beast of Burden,” is a merger between a 32ft houseboat (1967 Jeffboat Sunliner) and a 3-wheel tractor (Rickel “Big-A” Sprayer). Built by Theon of Theonomics. No rational reason why, he just thought it’d be cool.

    You should sell your plans to a french boat company that specialises in amphibious boats for oyster harvesting on the coast. Your house boat could be a most welcome Addition to their product Range.

    Do the wheels cause much of a drag in the water or do you have fenders or covers over the front to deflect it? Great design, should rent it out!

    This is the coolest thing I have seen in a while. Did you have to completely redo the boat? Most of these only houseboats seem like they are in terrible shape

    • @theonomicsbuilds6133
      @theonomicsbuilds6133  6 років тому

      Really appreciate that, thanks! The boat was in pretty bad shape overall, the biggest issue being rusted/leaking bottom. It actually made for a great candidate, because to put the frame/axle in place, called for lots of cutting and welding new sheet metal on. If you haven't seen them yet, you might enjoy some of my other videos documenting the build process.

    You know, if this was prepared for mass production and full time use, you’d basically be giving anyone with the space for these a car, boat and house for cheaper then what those 3 things usually are by themselves.

    Hi an amazing project and build. Going to be a lot off fun with your family. I was thinking would it move better through the water if the front wheels were driving so they would be like paddle wheels?

    • @theonomicsbuilds6133
      @theonomicsbuilds6133  6 років тому +1

      Thank you! So far everyone's had a blast on it! The front wheels propel it a little, but not enough to justify the extra slashing they cause. It's certainly not built for speed, but I think it'll be better if I can find a way to streamline the rear wheel/rudder.

    • @gazzasstuff9419
      @gazzasstuff9419 6 років тому
