I'm so glad you covered rejections. Ever since I started new programs and graphic downloads I've gotten like ...gosh...I think 15 rejections. I'm always like thinking I'm going to lose my account any day now. My fault tho, I get so wrapped up in everything we have to do Sometimes I forget to check trademarks. I am going to be super careful tho from now on! Every time I get a rejection my heart sinks, and I panic. Lol....funny but not funny!
Thank you for being detailed with your explanation about spammy words. A print-on-demand company canceled my account due to being spammy 😔I corresponded with them and asked what made my descriptions spammy. Never heard from them. I'm in my 50s and being a newbie, I didn't know. Now I know, because of you. Thank you!
Thanks! would love to see a video about writing productive descriptions, like you mentioned. Features and descriptions are the most stressful part of creating and listing on Merch for me. Love your contact!
I live on USPTO because I'm paranoid and feel like I need to be checking the database daily. I want to write a program to do it automatically, because this is nuts to me. Just found you today, grateful!
Thanks for the video - very informative! Still the content policies are, imho, overly strict with huge room for interpretation and explanations given after the design rejection are too poor to learn on mistakes. Descriptions cannot contain certain WORDS like 'naked' as in 'naked bike' which is nothing related to sexual or adult content. I have no idea if there are actually humans scouring through all these or just bots.
Question... There is a LIVE trademark on the phrase "dogs and books" but if I created a design that said "dogs, books and coffee" ...would that be safe?
The First disegn was ok the second One no they tall me there's something wrong with my design but they don't tell you exactly what's wrong 😢 i always check trademark and copyright so i think the problem Is with the image but I'm not sure... Can i send you my image so you can tell me?
Hi, thank you for.the tutorial. Can i ask? Just been on.the link for TESS. Message read with caution as ciuld contain melweare. Is this safe to use? Please
The TESS site looks so complicated and not user friendly at all - don't really know where to and how to start a search there. Do you happen to have a video on how to use it? If not, could you please make one on how to use TESS for POD content creators?
Yes! I have a couple other videos that share some live screen recording of how to use TESS, but actually my video coming out tomorrow is all about trademarks so I’ll be showing that in detail too!
@@hannahebeling Thanks! You mentioned you have hundreds of rejections. It'd be nice if you could share the reasons (or possible reasons if you have to guess) for those rejections.
@@shinewu7738 that’s a great video idea! A lot of my rejections just come down to something slipping through the cracks. Sometimes even though my title and shirt are all using “safe” phrases, something in my bullet points triggered a rejection. Another one that has happened to me quite a bit is something was safe previously and then either someone filed a trademark later or a policy changed, so when I upload additional designs in that niche i got rejections.
@@hannahebeling Those are some really valuable info in your reply. It'd be super helpful if you could make a video to elaborate more specifically on those words/phrases that trigger the rejections to yours, but, of course, only if you feel comfortable in doing this, I don't wanna sound too pushy.
thank you for the informative video! I just got a rejection on a design and realized after that the brand I tried to use was trademarked (it was a basic 2-word phrase: Artist Unknown. I assumed it was a kind of throwaway phrase not much different from just using "Unknown") I feel stupid for not checking the brand first. In your experience/opinion, is this something that could lead to termination? I am also deleting my ukraine t-shirts (most didn't sell anyway ha) ... I did have a Puck Futin one that did sell some. Do you think that designs counts as "profiting off of tragedy"?
Thanks so much for watching and commenting!! Like I said at the end of my video, I wouldn’t stress a few rejections too much. It happens to everyone. For the next few weeks, maybe just focus on only uploading designs you know are 100% safe. The Ukraine and Putin shirts are tricky ones. There’s some people who got rejections and terminations right away, but I know some people are still selling in this niche and doing well. It may not hurt to leave one design that makes sales and delete others, but it also doesn’t hurt to be on the safe side either.
Another Great video Hannah! Thanks! One of my designs has been rejected and I asked Amazon why because there was so many similar designs already selling and the answer was pointing towards this phrase: "father's day gift" because this is as they said "only describe the design and refrain from using qualifiers or describing the use or fit of the product" so I think this is all about word gift and even if I used this word so many times it seams that this super highly ranking keyword is also banned. Well almost all my designs contains this word but maybe they are used in different way so like "great gift for fathers"? The software like Merch Informer is actually showing "gift" fort as a banned word but like I've said I'm using it all the time and all designs are live, so I thought this could be Merch Informer error. Do you think that all my designs could be rejected at some point if I use the word gift or gifts? Are you using this word Hannah in your listings?
I used to use the word gift in listings before it was banned. I haven’t had any problems with old designs being removed because of it, but if you ever edit or change the price of them, make sure you take out the word gift at that point.
I think you still have to be careful with saying defamatory things. Etsy is much more lenient than Amazon though. Also be sure to check for trademarked phrases. I’m not 100% sure on this but I think things like the popular “maga” phrase have a trademark.
I know there are sellers from Africa, but I don’t personally have experience with accounts outside the US. Might be a good idea to look up videos of getting accepted from Africa.
I wish amazon would be more transparent about things like this, but they like to keep a lot of their cards close to their chest. Sometimes it has to do with the country you're in or time of year you apply though.
Hey Hannah! Just found your channel. New loyal sub here :) QQ: I noticed you mentioned in an interview with Kittl that you could upload the same design for multiple products and it´d count as only one. In my case, for the same design if I choose for example pillow, t-shirt and iphone just in USA, that will be counted as 3 products, not 1. Also, if I repeat both in USA & UK that´d count as 6 products. Not sure if I am missing sthing here? That´s what happens to me at least. Thanks for your help! Appreciate it.
Yes please do make video on how you do descriptions. Everything you share is of value!
Hannah, yes, would like a video on titles and descriptions.
Thank you so much for the feedback!! I'll start getting one in the works to come out very soon!

I'm after my first design rejection. I kinda freaked out that Amazon will terminate my account.

What do use to check trademarks since TESS has been terminated?
Great video. I just subscribed and am binge watching your channel today. 7:17 should write : YOU WILL GET REJECTION" not "Regection."

Can we get a video of you letting us know what you use for your tags and details in your descriptions when you post your designs

Go to uspto.gov now. They updated the website recently.

Does that mean tshirt designs about mental health is also not allowed?

will ww2 related to tragedy, like a bear in ww2 outfit, or ww2 tanks, planes, etc 🥺
Good question! This probably would get rejected on Amazon at least.

Unfortunately, no. You will get emails if your designs are rejected or removed, but no termination warning.
