How can ppl take your designs pixel by pixel? They can take the idea but how do they steal the exact design? Also one more question, can you use Amazon merch on branded merchandise? (I am branded) or do you have to use “generic”?
Great question! It definitely varies by niche. If a niche only has 25 other designs in it to compete with, but makes 100 sales in that niche a month, I'd consider that low competition. However, if there's a niche with 900 designs in it, but it's making 10,000 sales a month, I'd also consider it low-comp too. So it really depends. I typically use the tool Merch Informer (linked in the video description) to check if it'd be a good niche to pursue. They have a tool called "competition checker" where you can look up any niche and get an A-F rating based on the ratio of sales and number of products live.
@@hannahebeling thanks for the fast reply! I sell on Etsy and use Sale Samurai, so I think it might work a little differently. I believe it just shows you search volume for the key term and then the number of competitors also using that key term. I will have to look into this more…
Maybe a stupid question but is there any issue with posting all the same products that you post on Amazon onto those other platforms? or do you need to make seperate lines of products when on the other platforms? thanks for the videos!
but how do you post consistently if you're a new seller and only have a set limit of products that you can post? And how on Earth are you supposed to post and upload 70 good designs a week??? I really need to know because, atm, I can only do about 5/6 designs a week in Photoshop but so many of these youtubers say that they make 50/60/70 designs a week and I have no idea how they do it.
Even though you are limited by your tier on Amazon, there are other sites new sellers can be on without those same limitations like redbubble and Etsy. To be able to design fast and get lots of uploads done each day, I’ve utilized a lot of different design tools and templates, so I’m not doing everything 100% from scratch. My favorites are Canva, Kittl and placeit.
Great video. My problem is that Amazon keeps rejecting me! Don't know why. I have good designs. I tried writing different things different times. I tried with a link to websites without. Tried it all. I know of other people who got rejected and eventually got accepted but hasn't happened to me yet. Any thoughts? Suggestions?
Ugh! That is so frustrating. I'm hoping to post a video soon on how I got accepted and some methods that worked for others as well, although sometimes it does seem a bit arbitrary who they choose to reject.
I am thinking that for one designer to be able to post 70 designs a week, these designs HAVE TO be really SIMPLE because otherwise, it will take more time to craft them.
You have some valid advice however, there's some that I disagree with. One is listening to Hogue. His royalties are not good with the amount of live designs he has. I've seen his designs and they are pretty shitty and infringing. HIs automation makes his designs off centered and sometimes half the wording is cutoff. Another, reporting copycats. I only report the top sellers. Once you get use to it, it only takes 15 minutes of my day to do this and it saves me THOUSANDS of dollars. It also helps terminate these people off the platforms. It would be nice if more designers would do this. Another is MI. (Yes, I know you are trying push your affiliate links) Personally, I found it and the likes of other POD tools are too distracting. It takes away of originality. Originality of good designs and branding is what makes you money not trends. Customers will most likely come back to your BRAND NAME once you established trusted products. I mean look at the major brands out there. This is what they do.
Thank you so much for taking time to comment and watch! It really means a lot to me. There are so many things I disagree with Houge on too. I'm not one to automate everything in my business like he is and love having creative control to create good designs. He is one of the biggest MBA "teachers" on here and I learned a lot from him when I first started a couple years ago, so trying to give credit where credit is due. As far as reporting copy cats, it's awesome to hear you've had good success with this on those best sellers. It sounds like you have at least a few designs that far out perform others, so that is probably a great approach. It seems like bots will pretty much copy any design these days with at least one sale and people can get really caught up in that (me included), and it ended up not serving me to pursue all of these.
To second what I said above too, I don't like that he pushes the low balling price strategy across the board. I think it does a disservice to everyone, newbies and more experienced sellers.
@@hannahebeling He stopped doing that on his own designs about a couple of years ago. Now he starts the listings at $19.99 or what's recommended by AMOD on other products
@POD78 I'm not sure what others thoughts are on this, but I like to use a different brand name for each unique design to protect myself from someone ripping off every design I have.
Thank you! You are amazing!!! Making my way through all of your videos!!!
Great videos!!! Thank you!!!

So glad you found some motivation from my channel! Thanks for taking time to comment!
Good advise, what's your tier by the way?
I can't get past tier 25, my sales are really slow. I look forward to your video on advertising.
Tier 10 and 25 are definitely the most brutal. Wishing you the best of luck and hopefully you'll start getting some more sales now that it's Q4!
Tee Public is keeping me in a status wear my designs are not searchable. How do I get my designs seen?
excellent info
Glad it was helpful!

Is it best to have designs ready BEFORE starting any free trials on the POD companies?
Not necessarily. POD tools can help you not waste time on niches and designs that there may not be demand for.
Hi Hannah! How do you define a low competition niche? Is there a certain ratio of search volume to competition that you are looking for?
Great question! It definitely varies by niche. If a niche only has 25 other designs in it to compete with, but makes 100 sales in that niche a month, I'd consider that low competition. Nice Video. I think a good mix between trends and evergreens is the way to go
Thanks for watching! Couldn't agree more. I get so excited when I hit a great trend, but try to balance my time out uploading those evergreens too.
