Thanks Greg. I’ve set up an online business because of your videos. The products I’ve been making fall under sub niche. Gonna keep going over the next few years.
Right on! Sounds like you're going to be in the right place at the right time. Good luck, and let me know if you run into any questions as you're going forward.
i have been watching your videos since March of 2022. They just keep getting better and better. I am not doing a great job yet, but I am now able to devote my time and effort to reach my goals. Your tutorials are really helpful and very detailed. Thank you!!
Nice! If you haven’t already, I’d upload them to the other big POD sites (my favorites are Amazon Merch On Demand, Teepublic, and RedBubble). They are all non-exclusive so you can upload the same designs onto multiple sites at once.
So I love this tutorial! You made it look so simple. I can’t ever get a list. I don’t know the right way to ask for the list. It gives me sayings and activities and then when I type those in Merch informer it tells me that phrase does not exist
Hi Greg, Been binging your channel haha. Love you style and straight forward content! Easy to follow. I created my Merch & Placeit subscriptions! I used a design (on Merch) that didn't have a background option to remove. If I see this again does this mean this would not work because you cannot remove the background?
That's awesome, I appreciate that! Hmmm... I'd look at a couple things: Was the template a social media template or other design template instead of a t-shirt design template? Was the transparent background checkerboard in another tab within background colors? I'd have to see it to figure it out but I haven't run into that on t-shirt design templates before. For me they always allow the background to be made transparent. I know that's not the most helpful but hopefully it gives you a place to look and hopefully figure it out.
It is the most specific and easier tutorial what you provided! If I am using one slogan but created with different templates, is it would be copyrighted or not ?
Hi Greg, I have a question. I sell jewelry, necklaces and bracelets awkward styles have; my question is, how can market it to sell it more? I see a lot of generic stores and I wanna make something different.
Hello Greg I was wondering how much money do you need to start a T-shirt business with Amazon merch on demand? My credit cards are maxed out at this time. I do have a PayPal account and I was wondering how much funds would be needed to start the business. Thank you
hi greg, New subscriber, very impressive, can you please help me how to choose the best match when it comes to find the KEY FINDER SEARCH on merch informer like as the completion is low of a particular keyword/phrase then what to look next is it the AMZ Search Volume Google Search or CPC???/
I followed your course a couple of yrs ago but got discouraged with coming up with different designs. I managed to do about 6 designs but I have yet to get a single view... I would like to try again using AI as that would speed up the whole process...I guess my question is, can I use AI designs and also, wouldn't a more updated AI engine like Bing Chat or Google Bard be better options than chat gpt since chat gpt only has information up through 2021? It would mean that the niches chat gpt provides could have changed within the last 2 yrs.🤔
Hey no worries it’s still a great business model now so you haven’t missed out on the opportunity. I wouldn’t be discouraged at 6 designs because I think you should aim for at least 50 designs in sub niches on multiple big pod sites before expecting noticeable sales. As for ai design tools, I don’t recommend them because of copyright issues. As for ai search engines, yes you can absolutely use others but the general niches that we are using ai to breakdown into smaller niches won’t change from 2021 to current. It’s the merch informer tool that breaks them down into the sub-niches and checks current competition levels. I hope that helps and I hope you crush it this time around!
Hey greg, I had a confusion in the merch informer step, We are searching for "hiking" in your case and we found out that adventure hiking has low competition, So what does that exactly mean adventure hiking tshirts are in low competition, or people are just searching adventure hiking for other purpose.
Following this, As mentioned in your video, one of the big niche can be education, When I search for mathematics in the merch informer, it's showing low competition, but the same problem i having confusion whether mathematics is being searched for a “book“ or a tshirt design.. Your response will be very helpful as I have already purchased subscriptions for design website and I am running out of time..
I'm just getting started with POD, I watched your video 3 times. I'm an action taker. I created an account with Merch Informer, and it's like finding a gold nugget in the mist of all the UA-cam trash. This has changed the game for me!! What a treasure. 😻Thanks so much for sharing this and all of your other practical tips. I'll definitely be taking your course soon. Appreciate you so much.

Just got merch informer after watching this video but the layout looks different… it doesn’t show just amazon at keyword research, it has a second column of the google most trending and doesn’t show the competition of the amazon column… 😢
@@GregGottfried Awesome, thanks so much!! One more question if you have a minute… If instead of tshirts I wanted to go into a different print on demand product, would a good way of analyzing competition be to type in that type of product instead?
Hello Greg, could you elaborate on using keyword finder on merch informer please. I select a niche, i then niche down using keyword finder, but alot of the low competition niches on KI are unrelated to tshirt designs. A simple amazon search bar search shows no one is searching for a tshirt with that phrase. What is your criteria for selecting one of the low competition sub niches please?
Thanks! Noted, and I'll keep it coming! I've got some more helpful topics that don't seem to be covered much so I'll see what I can put together here soon. As always, thanks for the comment and input 🙌
That's a great question. In my experience, there's no way to 'really' know. There are tools out there that will tell you estimated sales numbers, but they quickly lead to paralysis by analysis. The way I see it, it doesn't take long to create designs and upload them into a sub-niche, so it's only going to diversify you more by getting into as many as you can (especially while they are low-competition). Hope that helps shed some light on this, and I appreciate the comment!

Great video Greg. Lots of great tips. I have a question. Does this method apply only to Merch on Demand or can I use it for other marketplaces such as Red Bubble, Zazzle, Tostadora?
Absolutely the best tutorial I have ever seen. This is so straightforward and clear. I’ve been researching POD for nearly 6 months. This is by far the best information thank you for the content.
Hi Greg, I was wondering if I can use quotes from movies. For example I want to use the qoute “you’ll float too” from the movie IT on one of my designs, but I’m struggling to find out an answer.
Thanks for sharing this awesome content as always Greg! 👌 Just one request, please also do a video for basic level artists who can design original design content which could be unique. Also, please provide your view on this that would it be actually efficient to make hand drawn cartoons and characters that represent those slogans or would it be a waste of time since the market is saturated with those readily available designs on a single click? AI art is also saturating the market, so would AI be more efficient? Or would the audience even want it? For me as a medium level artist, your point of view is extremely impotent since you are the expert on the subject and I can't find this answer anywhere, any tip or advice would be helpful. I dont want to waste time, so is designing unique stuff from scratch and hand drawn designs and characters even worth it? Thank you for your time

wow. easily the best video on this subject that i've seen. im just getting into POD and been doing A LOT of research. and you're the first one to make me feel like its possible. clear, concise and you move slowly and so thoroughly through each step and subject. huge fan. and hugely grateful. you got a sub.
No worries! Absolutely agree.. Often overlooked, but if you nail the research stage you can build a massive business by being in the right place at the right time 👍
Hey Greg, this is the first time watching you and I'm so glad that I found your video bc it's just what I needed. I have been watching UA-cam videos for almost a year now and guess what I haven't done a damn thing yet. Overthinking everything too much information along with the shiny object syndrome. Your video and the other ones that I am going to watch now, may just get my ass motivated I hope, LOL. I have a quick question all the UA-cam videos on digital products selling on Etsy all that say you should go with one particular niche or sub-niche in your shop. I don't want to sell on Etsy because they charge for each listing and that can get pretty costly. 40, 80 or 100 product listings that gets expensive.. Could you possibly give me some ideas where else I can sell the products I'm going to design and sell. One of my thoughts was to sell on my Website, but I don't know how to set that up. I plan on starting a Newsletter in the Health & Self Care Niche, bc that's what I'm really knowledgeable in and its my passion. Any ideas or suggestions you may have I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you and have a good evening
Hi Greg, would it be possible for you to make a tutorial on how to highlight the product on Amazon by the merchant, and also how to upload it so that we are not canceled by Amazon
Hello Greg, i am new to print on demand and was wondering why are you searching on merch informer with the "keyword finder" instead of checking with the "competition checker". I searched "hiking" on merch informer and although it says low competition on keyword finder it has an F for ranking on the competition checker which is a bit confusing. Would love to hear your take on this or if you can explain how this works. Thanks again and keep up the great work!
@@GregGottfried awesome! if you don't mind me asking, sometimes the tshirt design templates on placeit are really limited. do you have any other recommended sites to find good copyright free templates?
@@akiljackson8119 Great question. When there's a niche I can't get much on Placeit with, I usually first search a more general niche and then tailor it to the niche that was limited. This way it stays efficient, and cost effective, to stay on Placeit. Also, simple text layouts with a graphic are customizable to any niche (more on that in this video: ua-cam.com/video/qilfHBz3y9U/v-deo.html ) But a good second tool beyond Placeit for more template options is Kittl. More on that here: ua-cam.com/video/d-MHolo-LIc/v-deo.html I hope that's helpful and saves you some time!
Hello Greg, i really enjoy your videos. Your very clear and concise. I would appreciate seeing a video of you talking about how you manage your time and your process, as it is very easy to get burned out from all the work involved in a print on demand business and lose motivation i.e research, designing, listing, advertising. It is alot of work sitting at a desk for endless hours, which i struggle with.
Thanks for the comment! Glad to hear the videos are helpful. Here's a video i made a while back showing what my usual day-to-day looks like (still currently). This wasn't a POD specific working day, but it's the same schedule when I'm doing niche research, designing, and uploading. ua-cam.com/video/OzCBAgh2j9o/v-deo.html Hope that helps to see!
thank you for this! Quick question, I downloaded one design to my computer from placeit, and I did click the transparent background button before, but when I look at the file on my computer it has a black background. Is that normal?
Hmm... It should be transparent if you downloaded it with the checkerboard background, so I'm guessing it is just how your computer displays transparent backgrounds. If you try uploading it to a POD website and see that it's still transparent background (as opposed to having a black rectangle background around the design) then you are all set 👍
When you say 10-40 t-shirt designs do you mean completely different designs or can I just change the colors and images like you did with the hiker to climber?
The print on demand websites do it all for you 👍 We just need to upload the designs and they literally do it all from there and we just get a split of the profit from each sale. More on it all here: ua-cam.com/video/oWh4PP68RsE/v-deo.html
Great question. This video should be super helpful in answering that: Full Print On-Demand Tutorial For Beginners (2023 Version) ua-cam.com/video/oWh4PP68RsE/v-deo.html
Greg how many designs do you recommend to upload in certain niche? For example i found niche.. how many designs are you making for this one before you go to search next keywords?
Can you give me an example of a sub-niche of geographical nostalgia or environmental or at least how to combine these topics in a question for a chatGPT?
Hey no worries! Use chat gpt to give you tshirt slogan ideas for specific states. Then further it down to cities. And then popular attractions (that aren’t copyrighted, think like national parks etc.). Chat gpt will be able to come up with phrases unique to that location. For each topic you can check for competition levels on merch informer and you should have a bunch of good ideas to work with.
Great question. My usual go-to is 'names' for this one, and my understanding is they get bought as gifts for people. 'Birth years' are also a good one here. Some sites allow the customer to customize the design before purchasing, that's a huge opportunity as well. Hope that helps!
Hi, Merchize allows you to manage all of your different print-on-demand (POD) website shops in one place. You can create and manage multiple stores from a single dashboard, and you can easily switch between them to view orders, track inventory, and manage customer data. It also provides a variety of tools to help you promote your stores, such as social media integration and email marketing campaigns.
Hi @GregGottfried , I like your content. Would you please do a video that expounds on the local/regional aspect? I tried looking around for local stuff and ended up in a rabbit hole of local ghost stories. Interesting, but not overly helpful. How do you find local niches?
😂 my favorite comment today! Yes absolutely though. I’ll see what I can put into a video but in the meantime use chat gpt to give you tshirt slogan ideas for specific states. Then further it down to cities. And then popular attractions (that aren’t copyrighted, think like national parks etc.). Chat gpt will be able to come up with phrases unique to that location. For each topic you can check for competition levels on merch informer and you should have a bunch of good ideas to work with. Maybe some will even be ghost story related lol
@@GregGottfried You seriously are a wealth of information! Lol! Love your 'abundance attitude' (plenty for everyone to go 'round) - thanks again for sharing your knowledge! :)
I notice you mention a lot about uploading anywheres from 10-40 different tshirt designs to websites a day but you also mentioned in one of your videos if you upload to many in the beginning certain websites could flag your store (I think is was your video on 10 mistakes beginners make). Whats your advice for someone starting out and who wants to upload a lot of different ideas?
Great question. The 10-40 is total per niche, not necessarily per day. I’d pick as many sites as you are up for (Teepublic, RedBubble, Amazon Merch On Demand, Zazzle, Spreadshirt, etc.) and upload 1 per day then gradually work up to 2 per day, then 3, etc. until you are maxed out. For each person it will be different as to how much time they have to spend. Starting slow and working up is key. Hope that helps clarify a bit!

Wow, thanks! Glad it was helpful, and if you run into any questions just let me know!
Hi Greg, I was wondering if I can use quotes from movies. For example I want to use the qoute “you’ll float too” from the movie IT on one of my designs, but I’m struggling to find out an answer.
How many trademarks can I check per month or per day with Merch Informer's Newbie Plan?
Thanks for sharing this awesome content as always Greg! 👌
Just one request, please also do a video for basic level artists who can design original design content which could be unique.
Thank you for your time
Hello Greg, could you elaborate on using keyword finder on merch informer please. I select a niche, i then niche down using keyword finder, but alot of the low competition niches on KI are unrelated to tshirt designs. A simple amazon search bar search shows no one is searching for a tshirt with that phrase. What is your criteria for selecting one of the low competition sub niches please?
Do you have a way to email or contact you? I have a few questions. Thanks for all that U do bcuz you give Great info!💜

Hi Greg, thanks for a great video again! Will the same rules apply Etsy as well?
Merchinformer is only for Amazon, or Etsy well for finding sub niches as you showed?
Excellent video! So clear and concise! Thank you
If I have a couple of unique ideas, how can I protect them from copiers? Or is something that it is done automatically?
Has anyone been able to sell good amount of tshirts after following Greg ???? please comment !looking out for some real time feedback

wow. easily the best video on this subject that i've seen. im just getting into POD and been doing A LOT of research. and you're the first one to make me feel like its possible. clear, concise and you move slowly and so thoroughly through each step and subject. huge fan. and hugely grateful. you got a sub.
Excellent video! Thank you
Thanks for sharing this Greg! I am working on POD on Amazon KDP, high content books. Doing the correct research is key!
Thanks again and keep up the great work!
super useful and easy to follow. Well done!
Glad it was helpful! If you run into any questions just let me know 👍
@@GregGottfried awesome! if you don't mind me asking, sometimes the tshirt design templates on placeit are really limited. do you have any other recommended sites to find good copyright free templates?
Hi Greg, would you spend any amount of time on digital products, or stick to pod ? Mainly T-shirts?
Hi Greg a question, what is the difference between Merch informer and EverBee regarding finding these Sub Niches and Low competition keywords
thank you for this!
If only Placeit had more scuba diving templates 😭
Just take some pictures of yourself in the bath with goggles on 😂
When you say 10-40 t-shirt designs do you mean completely different designs or can I just change the colors and images like you did with the hiker to climber?
Great question. These would be 10-40 different designs (a different slogan and design for each). Hope that helps 👍🏼
Absolutely brilliant advice Greg...thanks.
Hi.
I have a question, don't you need to find a t- shirt supplier first? What about samples?
The print on demand websites do it all for you 👍 We just need to upload the designs and they literally do it all from there and we just get a split of the profit from each sale. More on it all here: ua-cam.com/video/oWh4PP68RsE/v-deo.html
Very informative!!!!! Thank you so much for sharing this vital information!
Glad it was helpful! Thank you, and if you run into any questions just let me know 👍
Thank you for this very helpful video, Greg. You never fail to deliver value!!
I appreciate that! More on the way!
If you just got started and don’t know where to start, which POD site would you recommend?
Great question. This video should be super helpful in answering that: Full Print On-Demand Tutorial For Beginners (2023 Version)
ua-cam.com/video/oWh4PP68RsE/v-deo.html
Greg how many designs do you recommend to upload in certain niche? For example i found niche.. how many designs are you making for this one before you go to search next keywords?
I always aim for 10-40 designs per niche before moving on to the next 👍🏼
Can you give me an example of a sub-niche of geographical nostalgia or environmental or at least how to combine these topics in a question for a chatGPT?
Hey no worries! Use chat gpt to give you tshirt slogan ideas for specific states. Then further it down to cities. And then popular attractions (that aren’t copyrighted, think like national parks etc.). Chat gpt will be able to come up with phrases unique to that location. For each topic you can check for competition levels on merch informer and you should have a bunch of good ideas to work with.
Do you know any free tool?
Great video. Do have one question. Not sure how to sub niche Personalize/custom. Any pointers?
Great question. My usual go-to is 'names' for this one, and my understanding is they get bought as gifts for people. 'Birth years' are also a good one here. Some sites allow the customer to customize the design before purchasing, that's a huge opportunity as well. Hope that helps!
Greg question about placeit, is there a way to change the font modes, can't find any font editing tools on there.
Hey no worries! The fonts are on the left side under the text boxes as a drop down menu. Hope that helps!
Is there a site or app where I can manage all of my different p.o.d. website shops in one place?
Hi, Merchize allows you to manage all of your different print-on-demand (POD) website shops in one place. You can create and manage multiple stores from a single dashboard, and you can easily switch between them to view orders, track inventory, and manage customer data. It also provides a variety of tools to help you promote your stores, such as social media integration and email marketing campaigns.
This was just super sweet!
Greg, this is by far the best video I’ve watched on this subject and I’ve watched hundreds of videos! Thank you!!!
Thanks for the very useful tip, Greg. Maybe I can slip you a few bucks and we can make this our own little secret! 👍😉🤣
😂 😂
Here in Brazil nobody talks about PRINT ON DEMAND. thank you, Greg! ;)
Glad to help 🙌
:) and that's a good idea. I did get a few possible blurbs using Chat@@GregGottfried
@@GregGottfried You seriously are a wealth of information! Lol! Love your 'abundance attitude' (plenty for everyone to go 'round) - thanks again for sharing your knowledge! :)
So genius man, so genius, that's why you are the only guy I'm watching. 👍⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Thank you 🙌🙌
As always, a smashing lesson from the master Greg, thanks, pal!
Thank you 🙌 If you run into any questions give me a shout!
@GregGottfried - Amazingly helpful content here!! Wow!! Thank you SO MUCH for sharing this!! 🙏 I've been wanting to get started in POD for awhile now, but ran into so many obstacles along the way, I was on the verge of giving up. Seriously - can't thank you enough!
Nice! Perfect timing then, glad you didn’t give up. If you run into any questions as you’re going along just let me know!
