Nice new podcast
Hi
Can't believe you got Tommy Emmanuel. One of my all time favorite guitarists
Dude! Thank you for making a legit guitar players podcast! Your the man huge fan!
villains aren't cool. they are responsible for all the shit people hate.
We want Guthrie govan in season 2!!
If he brings Guthrie it'll be the best lesson we've ever watched
God himself.
Yes!
Guthrie - Emmanuel jam
Hearing "Those Who Wait" changed my life more than 15 years ago.
hey, I really like "Floating Free", great vibe to that song.
Paul Gilbert seems like a slam dunk for this podcast.
I think kiko loureiro would be very interesting for the podcast
Yes!
Two words: To ta lly!
Y E S.
i want it all and I want it now
yeah! Kiko is such a down to earth and inspiring person!!
I could personally never see Tommy as a villain, the man is simply too kind and humble! Nonetheless, such an awesome interview as always!
Tommy Emmanuel is such a great man. Such a gift, it’s like his music is literally from heaven. Such beauty.
"your technique should be invisible"... Wow! Gratitude... It's about the music; not the ego :)
Haha, I was the guy with the big heart sign in Russia. Great to hear Tommy mention it from time to time!
I hope Tommy will live forever. Just one of the greatest players ever to exist.
lol.. I just had a John Petrucci moment: Hearing the story behind "Ruby's Eyes" had tears welling up in mine. That's one of the best things I have ever heard in all my life. What a humble man! Great interview.... very well done.
Thank you for this awesome series Tyler. This guy dropped by jaw live in Perth in the 90s
Tommy Emmanuel is such an inspiration. The most beautiful thing about our instruments is the certainty you will improve with dedication and a focused practice routine. He is a shining example of this.
Not many things in this world are so free from the whims of luck and circumstance.
Great interview, and great questions. Great job listening and letting Tommy answer without interrupting.
Amazing! One of your best shows. Thanks.
Thanks for inviting my favorite acoustic guitarist!!!!
What a fantastic interview! I almost never watch guitarists interviews but I love Guitar Villains. This is my favorite so far!
Guitar Villans is Win :-)
Every episode has been great, thanks so much.
Wow, I'm impressed with all the cool guests you've already managed to have on this show. Keep it up!
Nice work switching it up for the segments and such! Tommy is a treasure and glad some younger players are gettin hip to him - he's really the gold-standard for harp/cascading harmonics too
This Guitar Villains thing is really great!!! Can't wait for the next one!
Thank you for interviewing my favorite guitar player. Fun interview! Music is Win for sure!!
Love this podcast, good job
Great format Tyler. Your guests are pleasantly surprised at your original approach to interviewing, taking everyone including the audience to an unexplored place. Well done !!
This is a great series brother, totally enjoying the podcast 😀
And I agree, villains do sound cooler than heroes 😎
Excellent interview with an amazing guitarist. My face scrunches up like I'm singing the notes in my head when I listen to him. He's the most amazing, most emotional player of the acoustic guitar I've ever heard. Thank you for including him in your podcast! What great stories too! I mean, not just one but several "wow" moments.
Tommy and his instructional books were a huge inspiration for me since I was a kid. Thanks for bringing him on Tyler!!! Such a treasure this man is.
Another awesome interview great show.
really nice work. It takes so much time to prepare those interviews and you do a great job. I would love to see Tomo in a future interview
Awesome Tyler....loving all your interviews .. Tommy is my fav acoustic player, and as you said "His playing always puts a smile on my face" :)
Tommy Emmanuel was the one to inspire me to pick up guitar. Loved seeing this kind of candid conversation with him.
Thx for this Tyler! Tommy is amazing!
Man you really are turning up the heat with this podcast
Great format. Very inspirational...
Very excellent interview!
i find everything todo with these podcasts to be inspirational
Wednesdays are Mondays for me. Nothing like listening to Tommy even just talking. He's one of those guys that's forgotten more than we'll ever learn. Amazing way to start my work week
Goshhh this podcast is seriously awesome!
Yes Perfect!!!! Those transitions!!! much faster and not awkward anymore!
Tommy makes me feel happy whether he's playing guitar or just chatting. He's magic. Love him endlessly and I thoroughly enjoyed this. Thankyou. The Mystery is my favourite Tommy song. Just thought I'd add that ❤️☺️
this mere youtuber now became big enough to have a conversation with legends... what a guy
OMG you got tommy on finally that you so much he’s so interesting and truly brilliant
man this podcast is so great
Brings back memories of seeing Tommy play live. Had the good fortune to see 3 of his concerts and each time I was mesmerized by his sound and skill.
The intro is so soo good... 🤘🏻
I was already sold on this series. Now you're just spoiling me.
We NEVER miss seeing Tommy when he comes to town !! (Clearwater Fla.)
Brilliant stuff Tyler 🧨
This was awesome!
Oh my god incredibly excited for this
I've met Tommy and seen him play many times. Very inspiring and genuine guy, and provided the soundtrack to the early nineties for me.
Tommy is amazing and a very distinctive player.
Dude's a guitar super virtuoso...Every player is jealous of his playing
Inspired* not jealous
Tommy emmanuel is my hero. Ive seen him play live and Jesus it was amazing. Never will forget.
This makes me so darn happy!
Good interview tommy emmanuel one of the best by far saw him a,few times brilliant makes you want to pack it in sounds very ill just talent 👌
Pretty stellar. :) Tommy again is one of my favs.
i went to a TE workshop somewhere like 2 years ago.. ended up being a musician & life masterclass.. what an awesome individual with such a wealth in knowledge and experience
Tommy's so inspirational!
Wow! Tommy has always impressed me with his playing and songs but I never knew he was so smart. He genuinely felt like a super smart guy and an adorable grandpa at the same time. I also love the fact that most of these "guitar gods", as we call them, are so humble in nature. These people are so down to earth and feel like normal people who you might bump into on a sidewalk. Mainstream popstars, rappers and DJs, take notes!
Such an Australian as well. Very pragmatic. Get on with it!
Tommys inspirations are amoung the greats jerry reed chet atkins etc.... he always aspired to have the multiple guitar sound but take that and run off and create his own thing. Hes amazing
A great player. A stupendous moment with one of the greats. Thank you. I never post stuff either...
The most inspirational guitar gigs for me was seeing Tommy and Phil play at the Armadale Hotel in Victoria Australia throughout the 1980’s.
Everything from Vangelis Chariots of Fire to ZZ Top to their original music… full band and bawdy jokes that can’t be repeated here. As a young guitarist I was floored completely and they made me work hard on my craft for the next 35+ years. They were and are to this day the most entertaining and talented musicians I’ve ever seen live. Terra Firma is a masterpiece of interplay between the brothers and funny as hell too. Check out the first solo on Terra Firma by another Aussie legend, Jack Jones aka Irwin Thomas, I believe a Bogner ecstasy was used in that session? I was lucky enough to play at Tommy’s world record attempt with a few hundred other guitarists in Melbourne Victoria back in the nineties too. He was also shredding on his Tele as well as his acoustic back then.
Long live the Emmanuel family legacy.
Tommy Emmanuel, a great guitar and a wonderful human being. I still hate myself for missing his show in Perth
last year.
The first time I heard classical gas was on a film. I waited till the end credits to try get the name and found it, went online and the first search result was Tommy's cover version, melted my whole head. Still does to this day! Awesome
This is awesome, TE is me favorite!
Just saw Tommy play Annapolis. It was simply fantastic. He’s in a league of his own
Legend has it that he can kill a man with just a finger.
"I can kill a man with my thumb." -Greg House
I can kill a man with just one finger too, my trigger finger that is. 😁
I was around16 when I read about Tommy in a guitar mag. I wouldn't hear his music for years, but the article and tabs inspired much harmonic awesomeness!
Saw the thumbnail for this and actually yelled a tiny bit. Tommy is the man!
You might be able to get Robert Fripp, he's basically on an equivalent of cameo and making videos on UA-cam.
I think he'd enjoy the premise of the show, and you'd enjoy his....eccentricities.
Yess love to hear Tommy listening to Union Station, that's such an amazing country album
if only this show was created earlier. we'd have the best guitarist on the best episode, we might've gotten an evh episode. I'd be happy with a Jimmy Page one too lol.
you wrote my favorite intro song ever I guess
My acoustic guitar hero
Tommy is a dead set Legend.
Going to see him in May.
He is an inspiration and one of the best Guitarists I have ever heard.
Tommy is awesom! Great villains!
Can you do a guitar villains video, with herman li??
He will be on the show soon :)
@@MusicisWin okay thanks
@@MusicisWin awesome!
Great call on Abe Laboriel!!! Fantastic bassist!!!
I mean, you're starting out with the cream of the crop from the get go...That's dangerous for longevity isn't it? :D Anywho, my requests would include Brent Mason, Johnny Hiland, Billy Strings, Molly Tuttle, Daniel Donato. Tommy is without a doubt one of my all-time favorites, with Chet probably being my all-time favorite. These are awesome, keep on rockin'!
I got to meet both Tommy Emmanuel and Brent Mason at Tommy's guitar camp in December. Both were not only incredibly talented but both are also extremely down to earth and easy to chat with. I hope every aspiring guitar player gets the same kind of chance I had.
Wow the story about ruby is so beautiful:)
Legend
tommy emmanuel's practice is unmatched
Tommy and his brother Phil Emmanuel are two of the greatest guitarists to ever come out of Australia. Tommy started out as the drummer and Phil the lead guitsrist of their band Goldrush. Tommy used to pull out his acoustic and do a great duelling banjos with their banjo player and Phil used to also get into it. Phil died a couple of years ago from an Asthma attack and will be sorely missed by all Australians that knew him.
Who doesn't love this guy. !
Excellent 👍🎸🔥
Absolutely loved this - but what's the music right at the beginning?
Nice interview with my fav guitarista! But c'mon that Ruby's Eyes chord story and you saying that sounded like secret agent theme... you had that planned and seen Tommy's interview elsewhere where he mentions the origins of that chord. No way you thought that up yourself.
John Mayer would be very interesting. Great video!
Tommy is undoubtedly the best acoustic guitar player of all time
I'd love to hear Brian May. He's my asbsolute favourite. Greta idea this podcast BTW
Classical gas made me fall in love with guitar
Finally TE my guitar hero
class act
cheers
🐐
Love it
Lincoln Brewster, played with Steve Perry's band at 19. Also, Linc has his own Aztec Gold Signature Series Fender Stratocaster.
Very enjoyable
Ayy I saw him in Hamburg, Germany
It was great
tommy is probably the best acoustic guitarist in the world
