I don't know what they writers of the show thought they were doing by having Alex basically abandon Jo so he can be with Izzie. It makes no sense whatsoever.

I know everyone rather Alex had died than leave but think about if Alex died then Meredith would be totally wrecked she loved Alex like the brother she never had and if he died then she would probably turn dark and twisty again and we all know we would cry our eyes out too
My favorite scene from him is when he was taking care of Rebecca and he told Izzie he had done this before. That made me love him as a character

gosh I miss alex so much, but deep down I always knew he loved Izzie and that he would always love her even if he loved Jo to. It's just sad bc he did what meredith did like he just left and he was the one trying to get her to come back, but at least when Alex left he gave Jo everything bc she deserved everything and like he wrote everyone goodbye notes. Yes he left for good reasons, but idk he married Jo and then just left for his kids and Izzie.
