Excellent story about Todd. One of my favorite books is the Spider-Man 1 book he signed back in 91. I bought it from my LCS and kept the letter that came with it and still had the red stamp. I sent it to CBCS and got a 9.4 with it. Stories like yours make this hobby resonate for guys our age. Hope you get a chance to view my videos. Would love to talk to you sometime about the evolution of the hobby over the years. Thanks
I was fortunate to grow up at a time when Stan Lee, Jack Kirby, Ditko, and Romita were creating Spider Man's world. I was in early and Spider Man quickly became a part of my world. I don't remember exactly which Spider Man comic was my first but I was already a huge fan by the time the 3 issue arc leading into the finale of ASM#33 came out, I was 10 years old. I remember vividly after reading #32 which left Spidey apparently helpless buried under tons of machinery and with his poor frail Aunt May barely clinging to life in a hospital, it looked pretty bleak for Peter. How was he ever going to get out? and would it be in time to save his Aunt? I remember visiting the luncheonette every day after school for weeks looking for that issue #33 to arrive. It didn't disappoint. What a magical great story by Stan and a comic book masterpiece by Ditko. Great memories.
Incredible books, Bueller! Just really cool to see the history and hear about the cool stories behind all these. Nice Job! Great insight. Thanks for sharing the awesome story about Todd
One of the cool things about comic book collecting are the memories you have of when and where you picked up some of your comics. Usually they are happy memories, but they slowly dissipate after you sell them off.
Todd is such a cool guy, I met him at a con and we talked for so long one of his handlers had to come and pull him away. One of his unique qualities is connecting to people and making time for them, even when he had a million other things going on. He just has that unique ability to make people feel special.
Hi my friend 😀... WOW lots of awesome looking Spidey covers 👍👍... like that #46 cover..Got two of that Todd McFarland #1.. awesome looking cover 🔥🔥... Great covers 👍... Thanks for sharing ✌️ my friend and have a wonderful weekend...B safe out there and stay healthy 🙏🙏...God bless you and your family 🙏🙏...
A high grade book is just an expensive prized possession, something that you're afraid to touch. A low grade book is affordable so it can be bought but more importantly, it can be read and properly enjoyed.
I’ve been watching your videos for a couple of months now and just stumbled upon this one. I loved your McFarlane story so much I had to sign in and leave this comment.
Lovely video and a heartfelt story which was enjoyable. I agree that those moments are more valuable than the fiscal value of a book. I hope you can arrange an interview with him. With your previous connection to him and with your subscriber numbers climbing it should be possible.
It's brilliant that Todd McFarlane took the time to speak to you as a kid. You've gone on to play an important role in the comic industry and if he hadn't done that, then maybe this youtube channel may never have happened, and thousands of us follow you. It's good because I know that you are also generous with your time. I hope Todd does the interview (he should visit the studio and do a tour of your local comic scene and basically hang out with you and have some coffee) Nice video.
ASM # 33 is my fav comic forever! Steve Ditko plotted many of those early Spider-man books. Never again will comics be that good. Always great to see those classic books. IMO!!!!! Thank you for sharing!
That's an awesome McFarlane story! Thanks for sharing it, seems like a really cool guy. What a shame you don't have that art still though, I would have loved to see that.
Hello Bueller great video again really enjoyed your Spider-Man Books but I really liked your Todd McFarlane story that is really cool, thanks for sharing that 👍👍
Beautiful and cool story lots of history there when in truth no comic isn't worth thousands of dollars when you have such an attachment that's very personal to you that has such a story behind it and priceless. A really nice story beautiful.
I love how you talk about price to help viewers out with their value. Great job
I love the fact they're all raw in just bags & boards and you don't care if they're a little rough, a true collector that enjoys the books themselves!
