Thank God I got the base EX Odyssey in 2024. Honda just wiped out 20% of sales by taking out the EX. Leather seats especially Acura and Honda deteriorate badly after 5 years. I have had the leather in my Acura replaced 3 times while my old 1989 Honda Accord cloth seat still look fairly new. I also do not need a sunroof and power lift gate. More things to go wrong, adds weight and reduces space. Love the 2025 instrument cluster. Classy and clear round dials. The bumper tweak is nice. Hope they improved Android Auto because in my 2024 it is unusable and constantly disengages. I am using a stick on Garmin instead. I wish they would offer Navigation as an option on all models. If they are doing a Hybrid in 2027/28 they better make it a V6 hybrid because the Sienna is way too noisy and has no power for people who carry cargo. Plus Honda cannot compete with the reliable if noisy Sienna 4 Cylinder Hybrid. The suspension on the Honda Odyssey sags badly under a load so I will put in coil overs and 19 inch wheels with 245/50-19 tires at some stage. Now if they could do a type S Honda Odyssey with navigation. I would buy it in a heartbeat. Even with the stupid leather. Many luxury makers are offering cloth as a luxury option. It is simple better.
Awd and a hybrid would be nice. A traditonal gear shifter or steering column shifter is better then the push button. Honda is being lazy. Had an 05 odyssey, now a 22 carnival. So disappointing on no redesign

I'm a die hard minivan guy but the new Traverse looks so appealing in design, standard features, and the turbo engine (even if it isn't too refined at WOT its good enough for daily driving).
Turbo engine from Chevy LOL, good luck with that. These are 2 completely different vehicles to compare. I was considering Traverse but ran away after researching about all the reliability issues, and how GM treats its customers.
Toyota World on UA-cam leaked a mid-cycle refresh for the ‘25 sienna w/ updated infotainment, digital gauge & facelift. That being said, how long til redesign? 2-3yrs? Getting a ‘24 XLE this week, but plan to hand down to Mrs & get a ‘27/‘28, hoping by then we see major changes (perhaps a Prime..!).
I test drove the regular and the Honda recently. Kia had nicer screens and cameras for sure but a less useful interior layout and it drove worse. They also really messed up the infotainment/climate control setup.
The honda oddyssey already has a long wheel base, they might as well make it an EV, its more practical than the Pilot and Ridgeline, it makes more sense too since the mini van isn't used much for towing and it's more low to the ground, and adding two electric motors gives it AWD 🙏🏽
Honda made a DOHC V6 that is compliant until at least 2030, and that replaces the VTEC. Hopefully that stays. Turbo 4 engines are terrible when compared to V6 smoothness and refinement. Honda has made the J engine since 1997 so it would suck if they stopped making it.
It seems like minivans don't get redesigned that often. The last generation Toyota Sienna was in production from 2011-20 and the Chrysler Pacifica has been around since 2017. But I do feel minivans are the best road trip vehicles due to it's space and ride comfort.
Just purchased the Elite today. I would say they feel short in the tech and interior leather colors. I’m not thrilled with the tires Bridgestone. Having them replaced with Pirelli Weather Active. It seems like the storage areas go smaller. I’m glad to see the vacuum cleaner gone and still miss the refrigerator. Still have a lot of exploring to do. Even so not all of us have kids to carry around I would like to have seen an Odyssey Type R. If I really would have gotten my choice I would have chosen the CX 90 Premium Plus
We have a 2019 Odyssey & nothing else is practical for a family. It looks like Honda is buying time with a 2nd (mid cycle) refresh to come up with a hybrid?!
we have four kids. So ya mini van is a must. However the prices of them are just way out of wack. The prices here in Canada when we bought a 2016 Odyssey base lx was 36000. Now a "base" is in the 50000 range. Just too much.
Honda missed the mark on the 2025 Honda Odyssey. Instead of a refresh they should’ve given it a whole redesign with a new 4 cylinder as the first gen model had. But of course now with a hybrid/ pev powertrain with awd as option to compete with its competitors. Hence marking 30 Years since its introduction.
They’re so lazy they haven’t redesigned the odyssey since 2018 which is almost 6-7 years ago. It’s already so dated compared to it’s competitors like the sienna or carnival
I say this as a Honda guy (I have 3 right now) ... did Honda address road/wind noise at highway speeds?? Loud interiors seem to be a 'feature' of Hondas.
When I went van shopping last year it was and still is here impossible to get a sienna. The odyssey was (still is) very expensive, only top trim available anywhere doesn’t help. The Pacifica I didn’t want to entertain as it has some reliability issues. Ended up getting the Kia Carnival. It’s not perfect but it has been more than sufficient for my needs with 3 (going on 4 kids). Step up from base came with all I wanted besides adaptive cruse. For the $20k I paid less than the odyssey would have been, it has been blissful.
A few sources have described minor 2025 Sienna updates, including updated infotainment and MID, colors, but still TSS 2.0. Have you gotten confirmation of those details?
I would think the next gen Odyssey would get the next gen hybrid system. Honda has invested too much in that system to not incorporate it into a vehicle that currently has 1/3 market share in its segment. If they go exclusively EV with it, they will lose most of that market share. The only reason for going EV only would be if minivan sales tank over the next 2-3 years - then you have less to lose. But those decisions need to be made sooner than later so I would think they'll incorporate the new hybrid system into the Odyssey.
We have a 2021 Odyssey and we do not like how when you lay down the rear seats that it has a dip down toward the front of the vehicle. Does the 2025 seats lay flat or do they have the little hump down toward the front?
The new J35Y8 has no performance nor fuel efficiency improvement over the Y6, and Y8 also ditched VTEC, this new engine is only built to be "cleaner" to drop NOx output. I think Honda is only fitting it in the Pilot so far, and the new Passport of course.
Is this a late April Fools joke? Aside from still no hybrid, how are the exterior changes an improvement? The new nose reminds me of a 2000 Nissan Quest. And what's with that ugly slot in the bumper? And the ugly vertical rear reflectors? FAIL.
Odessey has a more flexible interior with 8 seats in all configurations and a removable second row. Toyota has the more efficient power train but at the markups dealers in my area are charging, you might never make up the cost difference.
I feel the same about road trips in an EV . Nothing but horror stories ( Broken Chargers - Cars "parked " at Chargers , no Owner in sight - Range Anxiety ) . Dear Honda 3.5 Liter HYBRID please .
It still looks the same. I would expect a refresh like this 2-3 years ago. I will say this time and time again. Honda has always been a day late and a dollar short when it comes to design and technology.
if they made a trailsport odyssey....WOW. Honestly, I think i just hate how the new odyssey have such large wheels. I liked it when it had beefy tires and small rims.
I don't like the cluster gauge which is half digital half analog. Come on Honda, make it a 12" LCD screen OR a traditional dual analog gauges RPM and MPH.
Any difference that makes no difference, IS no difference! The instrument cluster is like my 2013! But wifie says to buy a 2025, so guess that’s what I’ll do.
Will Honda have an AWD option for the refreshed 2025 Odyssey, with better ground clearance? Will the bulletproof V6 be available in the Elite models? Great 👍 preview of what's coming out from Honda!
If currently Honda has not made any designs or have a hybrid Odyssey in the works then Honda should be skip the hybrid and go straight to BEV or PHEV. Even if they roll it out ten years from now. After 2035 automakers will want 90% of their line as PHEVs, BEVs, and/or FCEVs. It makes no sense to develop a hybrid platform for one or two model cycles.
Tbh the new one feels like a downgrade. The outgoing model has a full digital cluster. Now it only has half. The screen is an inch bigger but same software. The odyssey has become stale. Needs a full refresh and a hybrid powertrain.
Yikes, no 360 camera, no disappearing 2nd row seats, only new plastic facias on the outside, same power plant. I was hoping for these to be updated/upgraded by now. New higher price, though. Geez. ☹️
Honda is so lazy with this car. They haven’t fully redesigned it since 2018.. that’s almost 6-7 years. It’s been getting minor refreshes, but it’s clear that this is the most dated out of all the minivans on the market. Compare this to the new Kia carnival, the odyssey looks like it’s stuck in 2018 while all the other minivans are updated to 2024/2025 styling. This is disappointing
I test drove both recently. The Kia drives worse and has a less well thought out interior. Better glitz and tech for sure but attached to a worse vehicle. Kia also really messed up the climate/infotainment controls by going to that touch screen where you have to toggle back and forth.

NOT.... Don't think you know what you're talking about.
So they added NSX tailights. Weird flex lol😊
I don't care what people say, i love my odyssey. The space is unbeatable, only a suburban has more space and it drives like a pilot.
I say this as a Honda guy (I have 3 right now) ... did Honda address road/wind noise at highway speeds?? Loud interiors seem to be a 'feature' of Hondas.
I really hope toyota gets rid of the small screen they have on their van
Second gen was the best design wise imo
Thank you a lot !!
Hybrid Hybrid Hybrid. We want a odyssey hybrid!!!!
8 inch ground clearance?
A few sources have described minor 2025 Sienna updates, including updated infotainment and MID, colors, but still TSS 2.0. Have you gotten confirmation of those details?
Still no 360 cameras, sucks.
So, you don’t know how to drive a little minivan?
@@wallbangerzsportsover 200 inches and you think it’s “little?”
Why does the Elite not have the black 20-inch wheels 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬
I would love to see Honda make a hybrid Odyssey but not on the current platform it’s sitting on.
Well the Honda Odessey is out of competition, for me not waiting until 2028
No 360 camera??? This is my wife's list have for a family vehicle.
Same
Why don’t you just learn how to drive correctly
@@wallbangerzsports Why don't you shut up and get a life
It is a big miss considering they put it in the Pilot.
It’s like honda has to do update it based on how much the honda odyssey is mentioned in deadpool & wolverine.
Ody looks the same. Classic
Honda Odyssey FWD Hybrid 🎉❤😊 Next Generation PHEV (Optional)🇺🇲🇨🇦
The new Honda van needs to have a Hybrid engine.
Why
@wallbangerzsports why not?
@@byhsu6140 cause they're more complex. and have more parts that will break. Any more brain busters, Einstein??
@wallbangerzsports then why does the CR-V have a hybrid? As well as the Accord, and soon the Civic? Explain that Einstein.
@@wallbangerzsports Toyota hybrids last a really long time. Not sure about that new turbo-Kia hybrid motor though.
Lack of a hybrid is a BIG MISS.
No one cares TiteAnus
We have a 2021 Odyssey and we do not like how when you lay down the rear seats that it has a dip down toward the front of the vehicle. Does the 2025 seats lay flat or do they have the little hump down toward the front?
Why doesn't it get the twin cam V6 engine that is being put in other vehicles in the same factory? Should it?
The new J35Y8 has no performance nor fuel efficiency improvement over the Y6, and Y8 also ditched VTEC, this new engine is only built to be "cleaner" to drop NOx output. I think Honda is only fitting it in the Pilot so far, and the new Passport of course.
Needs a major redesign!
Looks like Honda is not on my shopping list. I was hoping for new looks.
No option for fabric seats is a misstep. In Florida weather leather or fake leather are not optimal. Fabric breaths much better, and does not get hot.
Is this a late April Fools joke? Aside from still no hybrid, how are the exterior changes an improvement? The new nose reminds me of a 2000 Nissan Quest. And what's with that ugly slot in the bumper? And the ugly vertical rear reflectors? FAIL.
Just say you can’t afford it, you base model crumb
EX-L is the lowest trim? Ugg, bring back base models so average people can afford one.
Do you prefer the sienna or odyssey
Odyssey
Sienna
Odessey has a more flexible interior with 8 seats in all configurations and a removable second row. Toyota has the more efficient power train but at the markups dealers in my area are charging, you might never make up the cost difference.
they need AWD would have picked up one by now if they had this option
I’m so glad there’s no major changes especially staying with the NA engine.
Honda removed water temperature gage from 2025 cluster. Why ?
Cool
Sad, this lack of changes make KIA more and more appealing.
Yea the Carnival is much better received than the Sedona
But Kia is a horrible car.
Maybe if it wasn’t called CARNIVAL
But Hyundai and Kia cars are the “Chinese cars of North America” for a reason.
Problem is the Kia drives worse and that matters.
I feel the same about road trips in an EV . Nothing but horror stories ( Broken Chargers - Cars "parked " at Chargers , no Owner in sight - Range Anxiety ) . Dear Honda 3.5 Liter HYBRID please .
Honda needs to fix the tiny 9 inch LCD screen! Come on, its 2024, even my cell phone screen is bigger than that!
Kia seems like a better option. Just my opinion.
The people actually buying minivans disagree, a fact.
It drives worse. And it has less thoughtfully designed interior spaces and worse ergonomics. Much better cameras and screens though.
Not according to Deadpool & Wolverine
It still looks the same. I would expect a refresh like this 2-3 years ago. I will say this time and time again. Honda has always been a day late and a dollar short when it comes to design and technology.
Yet they still sell extremely well! No one actually cares about gay technology crap
@@wallbangerzsports Mr homophobic bitch. Everyone single person cars about technology and more. Stop using the word nobody instead just say you.
I wish they would make roof rack standard. And trailer hitch $700 add-on even with the elite 🙄
if they made a trailsport odyssey....WOW. Honestly, I think i just hate how the new odyssey have such large wheels. I liked it when it had beefy tires and small rims.
Which means Hondas V6 will hang around for another 2-3yrs.
They should’ve changed the exterior lighting. That’s a big thing people notice. Miss
I’m pretty sure no one cares, you crumb bum
Honda needs to figure out how to fold second row flat. Struggling with a 60+ lbs seat trying to remove it when you are older is murder on your back.
Toyota too. Also can make the seat lighter by using thinner padding and space frame.
When will we get a new ridgeline hybrid
I don't like the cluster gauge which is half digital half analog. Come on Honda, make it a 12" LCD screen OR a traditional dual analog gauges RPM and MPH.
Any difference that makes no difference, IS no difference!
The instrument cluster is like my 2013!
But wifie says to buy a 2025, so guess that’s what I’ll do.
just started the video.. hoping for bigger screen and possible awd.. for wide and growing family
Why don’t you watch the video before you comment, Einstein
When are they gonna make a hybrid version
Good, maybe it wont look so much like a hearse this time.
It’s literally the same body shape, smart guy.
The push for SUV has dried up the market for minivans and what is left is rotting without innovations.
not sure if it
Honda remove water temperature gage from 2025. Why ?
