What an amazing episode! and what an amazing person Mr. Taylor is. As someone who's worked in the automotive industry for 25 years (10 of those years with a Japanese car maker at the U.S. HQ), I've followed the Carlos Ghosn story closely. Simple fact is, the Japanese (Nissan) didn't want be ruled over by Renault (and foreigners) in their alliance, so they colluded with the Japanese government to get rid of Mr. Ghosn (the man who saved Nissan from impending doom). The entire story highlights how backwards the Japanese legal system and corporate culture are (still based in the feudal era). And Nissan has been at it again, do a search on Ashwani Gupta, and Ravinder Passi. Both former Nissan execs who Nissan had conducted surveillance on (camera's outside of their houses) to build cases to fire them.

All affordable Nissan are junk like Sentra Altima and the maxima that follows right over to infinity unless you know something I don’t. The ccv transmission never make it over 100k the motors do but after you dump a ton of money in them.

@@petersobik2162 they’re not doing too well, which is why they’re pulling these desperate moves. S&P cut Nissan’s credit rating to junk a few months ago.

Maybe there is a presumption of guilt in Japan and they have 99% conviction rate, but in the US federal system there is pretty much the same. Even though, officially there is a presumption of innocence, in fact there is a presumption of guilt until you prove yourself innocent and sometimes that's not enough. The rate of conviction in American federal court is 95%.

I was a Victim of Nigeria's Drug dealers while being on a business trip. My German Embassy was of no help in Japan....
    All together I spent 6 years & 2 month in 3 Japanese Jail's...
In Toshigi Woman Jail (approximately 150 km from the Fukushima's Nuclear Plant) There were 14 different Women from Countries such as USA, Swedish, Austrian, Columbia, 3 African Nationals, 1 British woman, and 5 other European Women. At that jail, there were 10 Factory's
where we were forced into Labor, along with Japanese Woman for 8 - 12$ / a month. However we only could leave our single tiny cell to go to work...
There was a daily physical exercise outside...and about 10 minutes we could talk to other foreigners or young Asian women speaking English. And after 1 year I was able to talk to Japanese women as well..
We all imported a drug called METHAMPHETAMINE,
a drug that the Japanese invented in the year 1897.....
At that time in the year
2013. - the "white paper" of the Japanese Police stated that 30.000 kg of that drug is entering Japan...
Amazing, how can the Japanese people lost the chemical formular...? The police
told me, that a lot of workers take that drug.
    We had alone 12 Thai women, & 8 Mexican women. What a bullshit.....and 😢😢😢
    A very sad situation for
us. In the year 1986 I was already on a
Business trip in Japan. At that time the drug preferred was Cocaine 😮😮😮😮😮😮 25:14

What a shame how the US government, (Trump and Pompeo) traded this American hero for their own personal gain. And it damn well was for their personal gain as Japan pays many American politicians. Where was his State Senators Warren and Markey? They must be receiving campaign funds from the Japanese as well. This guy should have a full and ceremonial apology in the White House. He is a American Hero and it's good to see someone stand up for principal as he did.

Thru the years , I have followed the takeover of Nissan by the Renault group ( ghosn was Renault ceo). He was also a great car exec who saved Renault . And of course the Nissan kiretsu could not stand to have a westerner running their Japanese company & partners from France. So they architected a way to take away his power. I doubt anything would have happened to him if ghosn had taken a nice payout and ceded power to the Japanese during the merger.

Okay so there is a documentary coming out on Apple TV on Friday August 25th, and I saw snippets of what Michael Taylor is saying about money and Carlos Ghosn (not good things). In this Interview he denies getting paid and he did not say anything negative about him. He actually met up with CG in Lebanon just recently (According to CG in a recent interview). So I wonder if the documentary coming out is just for show and publicity and $$$$

    • @markwilson6818
      @markwilson6818 Рік тому

Well the truth is exposed, you are mistaking because Michael Taylor did not say he didn't get paid, he clearly said he has paid out of pocket $842,000 which he has not been reimbursed for yet and he still owes much more in legal fees. Carlos is responsible for those fees as it's his life that was saved and his word of honor that said he would pay it. Simply ask Carlos is he has reimbursed all of Michael Taylors out of pocket legal expenses. It's a simple question, ask him.

    • @markwilson6818

BTW, what interview did Carlos say he recently meet up with Michael Taylor? Is this one of the interviews where Carlos said the plan was his idea and he was the mastermind behind it as he falsely said several times. In the Apple TV film when he answered the questions about getting money back from Oman and about his yacht, it's crystal clear now that he has a problem with the truth.

@@markwilson6818 No. It was a recent interview with Forbes. Maybe 2 months old, you can find it here on UA-cam. I made the comment before I watched the documentary on Apple TV. I came to a conclusion that they are both lying and not telling the entire truth. MT definitely got something and he did not completely throw CG under the bus. I think the Documentary is just for propaganda and $$$ for both.

Michael Taylor is talking about $$$ and he wasn't as kind talking about Ghosn as he was here. Also Ghosn was adamant in every interview that his wife was not involved and never communicated with Taylor and had no idea about the escape plan (it was a complete surprise). Here, Taylor mentions that he met and talked with the wife prior to the escape. A lot of inconsistencies.

What do you want, an audited financial statement of his expenses and compensation? How naive can you be? Also doesn't make any sense to put "rescue" in scare quotes when he literally rescued Ghosn from what would have been a defacto life sentence in Japan, whether you agree with what he did or not.

Hey, I like this show. It's freaking awesome.
Still, I'm sorry, but this guy sounds like a cry baby to me.
Again, I have been watching this show for years.
... but, you can't like em all, I guess.
    Persistence is key

Dude! you are married to a Lebanese. If you got there in '82 '83 that is not 17 years of civil war. The civil war started in 1975. Do the Math. Your timeline is off. I am at 15:23, will definitely come back and comment further.

Chick, I believe he said there was 17 years of civil war in Lebanon.

@@markwilson6818 "Chick"? very classy of you! And this is what I typed up above (can you read?). re-read my comment, do some Math if you are good at it, and maybe you will understand what I typed.

As I understand it the Lebanese Civil War started in 1975 and ended in 1990; 15 years. He said "and again that was the result of, how many years of war at that time? Ended up having about 17 years of war"
I'm not seeing your issue with his statement
