My first handmade soap! 🫧- Best ingredients - No plastics 😜

Ingredients to make one full bar of soap:
💦Water 12oz
🧪Lye 4.8 oz
🌴Coconut oil 12oz
🧈Shea butter 6oz
🫒Olive oil 12oz
🌿Castor oil 4oz
🌸Fragrance oil 1oz
Optional: Bentonite clay 3tsp (for exfoliating)
Direction:
1. Measure water in a large bowl. Measure lye in a separate container.
Add lye to water - this will create a chemical reaction and puts off some fume. So do it outside and make sure to wear rubber gloves to protect your skin.
2. Let the mixture solution cool, prepare the rest.
3. In a large metal pot, measure and melt all oil, shea butter, to a liquid form. Let it cool down to about 110 degrees. (while you wait, measure the fragrance oil and the bentonite clay)
4. Measure both the oil mixture and the lye solution, until they are within 5 degree temperature difference.
5. Pour lye water into oil solution, blend well (use a emersion blender works the best). Add fragrance oil and the clay, mix more until a thick trace consistency is reached.
6. Pour into the mold. Even out with spatula. Lightly tap the mold on countertop to eliminate air bubbles. Use a spoon to mound the texture of the surface. Give it a prettier look on top when finished.
7. Let it set, Spray on top a mist of alcohol to prevent soda ash forming. Let it harden over 24 hours.
8. Cut into sizes you like. Separate each bar to let it cure for the next 4-6 weeks before using.
