Laika: Aged Through Blood is a western-inspired motorvania set in a post-apocalyptic wasteland. It is the story about a tribe oppressed by occupant forces, and the personal story of a mother coyote warrior who descends on an endless path of vengeance to take back what her people lost.

Speedruns of this game are going to be so freaking rad.
The music and tone just screams that it's going to rip your heart out with the story.
This game looks really brutal and cozy at the same time. I would love to see more!
Bro look at the mole boss fight that stuff it’s wretched
Come on Wander, don’t you know that reloading a gun while pulling a bike hard enough to back flip for style points is the only true way to reload?!
19:44 I like how he states that commentary HERE is going to be hard,as if having enough charisma to just keep talking for an hour like Pewdiepie is perfectly natural for humans...
I don’t think I’ve ever been exited for a game the same way I am with this, it’s got a learning curve and it probably feels a little worse on a controller but omg it’s so hecking good, I played the demo like two months ago and I’ve been eagerly anticipating it’s arrival since, it’s so strong in other areas that even if the “metroidvania” parts are lacking it will probably barely matter
Honestly it looks less metroidvania and more of a unique style of action platformer. The game this most reminds me of is celeste which is weird. Reminds me of that sort of flowing movement system, and with more complex level layouts and enemies could certainly turn into celeste-sytle gauntlets of hard "screens" (in this game being the spaces between checkpoints).
Metroidvania elements might open up though, I'm not sure.
Fun Fact: The bird at 55:49 chose not to shoot, there are others like him out there.
Funny you mention that, i started playing two days ago, have had the thought a few times “pretty sure that bird just didn’t attack me… but had plenty of time to” I’m gonna be looking out for this now. Wonder what happens if you just roll up to them.
Have you beaten the game yet? If you just roll up to ’em nothing special happens but a later scene explains why it happens.
You are hitting all of the boxes of the this game I love, the music, the excitement, the new exploration of an entirely different experience, I WISH I could see you just play it, I don't even need your voice though it is always much appreciated, love your point of veiw on these things. I'm am here grinning like a madman to hear you enjoy this game as I have so far. God I hope you find joy in the rest of this lovely work of art, thank you so much for playing it!!
YES GOD THANK YOU SO SO SO SO SO MUCH FOR COVERING THIS WANDER!!! this game I played the demo and it brought me so much JOY I have been waiting for this game for a while and the music, the gameplay, all of this just sparks joy in me. I am so happy that people are finding this and especially you!!!! I can't wait to see your thoughts on the game!!!
Sadly I can only stay untill where the demo ended
I'm honestly excited for more metroidvanias with weird movement also damn I'm early
"Was my bike not in the way? I suppose not, somehow", he said, as he was halfway through hitting his head on the ground
tbf it's really easy to loose sight of Laika and how she is tilted
The music in this game is epic. One of the best soundtracks I've heard recently in a game
I am definitely going to look into this game tomorrow and see if I can get the soundtrack separately if I decide not to go for the actual game
It's on Apple Music & Spotify at the moment, though I hope they release a Vinyl someday.
I have been playing this game for 20 hours so far, AND I LOVE LOVE LOVE IT!! And thank god i found your channel through this game. Its so cool how you play different games in every video, i just instantly subscribed. And also, yes i want the artbook for this game too, its a masterpiece.
I hope wanderbot shares more of this game it looks awesome, and music is chef kiss .
Awesome commentary, enjoyed hearing your first impressions from the gameplay, story, and art. Also going through this game rn
For me it's all about collecting the cassette tapes..... the soundtrack on this game is great. Addiction level is quite high too... its a solid 10.... love went into this game
Wow the gameplay looks pretty awesome! I haven't seen something like this before
Beautiful game! I'd love to see more content from you on it. Nice when the one playing appreciates the game!
LineRider looks beautiful now!
This game looks nuts. I love the art style, I love the gameplay, but I am affraid I will never play it, as I am not good at this stuff and I would get really frustrated...
Edit: That scene where she talks to her dead brother! The music, how they talk... that one hits hard...
Absolutely gorgeous game, art, design, music, such a soundtrack, the world building, such a shame the gameplay is not for me.
I enjoy your streams and the fact that you don't cuss or blaspheme. Thanks. I will keep enjoying your game playing. Also I like when you read the conversations between characters.. emotions and all.
Yeah, I bought this game on release day after playing the next fest demo. It was such a blast!!
the writing/art direction of this game is incredible
Excitebikevania?
😎🍻😎
Ok I thought I was the only one lmao excite bike for the win!!! Mixed in part metro to boot lmao!!!
Excitebike meets Borderlands.
I was a bit skepitcal when I heard about this game, but damn, it looks pretty awesome
welcome to the sorrow and the blood, now give the birds their vietnam(also post apocalypse redwall/other meat soulslike im forgeting vibes)
Also I believe when I played the demo you could pick and choose what tapes played
If theres one thing i can say about this game, its that whoever added the option to disable collision damage is a saint, cuz this game does not make it easy to figure out your orientation fast enough to avoid hitting a wall. I dont care if its not how the devs intended you to play the game but some of the level design does NOT do laika any favors when her collision damage is turned on, and im not gonna sit there dying 500 times by eating the walls and floor while fighting oversized chickens!
that got real dark real quick.
Those animation cutscenes are amazing
This looks great but playing a 2D metroidvania with stick controls instead of d-pad is gonna mess with me.
Stick controls for the knight Witch was great but for a standard Metroid game I prefer a d-pad.
Seen couple play this and they all seem to forget they can deflect bullets after they get the gun
Also even if you run out of parries you can still block bullets with the drift
I played the Demo and really enjoyed the game. it's on my wishlist.
tbh found it better with keyboard and mouse because of aiming
I think the biggest flaw of this game is that they give the player their gun too early. It is obviously much better to use than deflection, which means people end up relying on it so much they never really learn to deflect consistently... which is a very very good skill to have later on
Pls do more please
This game looks amazing, and I'm pretty sure I'd suck at it.
Elastovania: Trials of the night
Once you get used to the controls it is, quite literally, like riding a bike.
D-did he just say clip
We still remember.
Remember what? o.o
I can tell you that I would not play this game cautiously
I'd be running through every area as fast as possible until i can string together a set of actions that let me reach the next checkpoint lol.
I'd have to stop for resources and stuff though... IDK...
I love this game
I was hoping someone could help me, does anyone know what the little flame thing is beside the weapon wheel?
first comment AND like.
But honestly, I am SO excited for this.
Steel Rats
The first boss is pretty easy if you start landing triple flips
Fun fact: Laika is the name of the dog the Soviets sent into space.
Is this just mad max, except with little foxes?
Im not saying the game looks bad or outdated but this game looks like it would have done really well if it was released 10 years ago
Beicoli (ingame) is an excellent musician, in other aspects... Not so much.
its probably easier to just use mouse and keyboard
Not on switch
It's confirmed for consoles, but the release date for them hasn't been announced yet. Currently PC is the only way to play.
Make a séries o//
30 secs lol
