Great point in the snugness of a car. As a 5'7" man ive never thought of this but you are absolutely right. The cavin size does make a difference in how you feel in it with height

I have a 2022 Camaro LT1 in white, and I love it. I hear about the visibility not being good, I recently sat in a Ferrari and a Lamborghini and couldn't see anything out of the rear windows of those cars. And you never hear complaints about those cars. I like the direction that GM took when designing the Camaro it has the sung sport car feel as it should be a sport/muscle car. Sorry to see it removed from GM lineup 😪.

I agree with all of your reasons for choosing the Camaro over the Mustang. I would add, for me, the Mustang is a little softer on torque in the lower RPM ranges. I still Ike an initial punch upon acceleration, and with a 6 speed manual, the added torque makes city driving easier.

I personally think the mustang looks better between the two on the outside,(probably because Ive been a mustang fan my whole life and never thought i'd buy a camaro) but I ended up going with camaro for the same reasons. For me performance and the interior look was most important to me since it was a daily driver, and with the camaro I was able to take turns alot faster while feeling safe than I could in the mustang. If I could choose between a zl1 and shelby I'd stick with mustang for sure, but when comparing ss to gt I prefer the camaro.

I own a ‘19 Mustang Ecoboost Premium Convertible. You cited that Mustang doesn’t come with wireless CarPlay. I believe that was true and it came to Camaro first.
It appears it was added to Mustangs beginning with the ‘21 MY, though. My ‘19 doesn’t have it, but it does have wired CarPlay - a slight pain to have to plug in my phone vs. auto connecting via bluetooth but it does work and it’s a solid connection from there.

Just place an order on the 22, 2SS 1LE Camaro because I wanted something I could still track, and drive on the street.
Just recently sold my 19 ZL1 1LE which was an absolute joy to drive, but more geared for track only driving.
General Motors Alpha platform is truly world class when it comes to its handling aspect.
The level of performance one gets with the 1LE package is really mind blowing when compared to foreign competition.
BMW M3 Competition base model is $73,000 a similarly equipped Camaro SS 1LE, $45,695, sure you're not going to get the legendary attention to detail that BMW offers, but when it comes to performance, the Camaro is the real winner.
And the reliability of the 6.2 liter and Tremec 6 speed are legendary.
Dad had 363,000 miles on his G.M vehicle before it got towed away just recently.

Just test drove a manual ZL1 and automatic SS. I'm 6'2" - 200ish. Very comfortable and have head room. Actually pulled the seat up some to make sure I could get the clutch. More comfortable ride than my current Camry and agree on the snug interior. Felt like the car wanted me there. I sat in it for an hour after the test drive just playing with the features. I ordered a 23 Cam because I don't like the Ford interior layout. I don't like the Challenger old school attempt at a dash. The Charger is 4 doors. And I want manual.

I’ve been a Chevrolet aficionado since I was a kid. Mustangs are definitely cool but I just like the Camaro better. The look of it. Late last year I found a 2014 1SS on Facebook marketplace in Oakland. I saved for two years to be able to get one. The previous owner put a ZL1 hood and front on it. I brought it back to a stock SS appearance. I added a Hurst shifter and rear wicker bill from ZL1Addons. It looks very aggressive. I love it! Sometimes I’ll get up very early on Saturday morning and drive it to Oakland. There’s a stretch on the 880 freeway that I just absolutely terrorize. Slamming gears. Last month I drove it down to San Ysidro and parked it while I went to Tijuana. It performed like a champ.
    Great Non MALT LIQUOR Video.

For those of us who really like a sunroof, its an available option on most Camaro trims. Not even available on Mustang. Also, here in Florida, there are Mustangs everywhere. No matter how aggressive they make them look, when you see them everywhere just like a Corolla or F-150 they just don't stand out anymore.

I had a 2010GT, a 2012GT and I am currently waiting for my 22 1SS 1LE 6m Riverside blue to arrive at the dealer. Was supposed to be last week but all the delays. I originally would have leaned towards the mustang but the current mustang I am not pleased with the front end. It just looks to soft to me and wish it looked more like the 15-17. The Camaro just looks alot better for the current year. I still havent even drove a Camaro due to none being on a lot anywhere. I sat in one but still not 100% sure on how I will feel with the low windows and smaller feeling cabin. I am 5'10" 175 so average size. I am sure it will become normal after a week or so

  • @markallen2984
    @markallen2984 2 роки тому +5

There are a lot of compromises with the Camaro. Tiny trunk, poor visibility, cheap interior materials, artless interior design but it absolutely handles great. Much better than the Mustang in my opinion. It feels more accurate, lighter and more tossable. It's simply more fun.
I think the Mustang is a better car, but the Camaro is a better drive.
I was cross shopping the two cars and at 6'2" 210lbs I found the Camaro claustrophobic (and I owned a FIAT 500 at the time) But, when I rented a Camaro for a couple of days I found I got used to it pretty quickly. The Camaro's "compromised sightlines" didn't present a problem after a day or two getting familiar with the car.
I think Chevrolet should Market the 4-cylinder Camaro as an alternative to the BRZ and Toyota 86 it really does handle well enough to be considered as an alternative.

    • @michaelbarry8373

I have no problem with the trunk size, No problem with visibility, Love the design of the interior, work of art. don't seem at all cheap. And I feel part of the car while driving. I say all this because I don't conform to group mentality. Which is the problem here.

I'm 5-7 also and it's absolutely uncomfortable. The seatbelt keeps strangling my neck and it keeps getting tighter and tighter. Is it worth the pain? Well, not as a daily. Also the suspension is way to tight on tour mode. I actually feel no difference in the suspension on any mode. It's tight in every mode. Do I love the car? Absolutely. The transmission is just perfect, the handling is closer to an exotic car and the braking is insane. I do have the 1le track package wich also helps.

  • @ayushmalpeddi2793

I want a Camaro just because of the handling. I drove a 2.0T Camaro and was hooked INSTANTLY. I haven’t even driven a Mustang, but I just know there is no way it can be better, especially after seeing the reviews. It’s just so god damn good. Ironically, I have ALWAYS (and still do) want a 13-14 GT/Boss 302/GT500. But I guess that will have to wait. A 6th Gen Mark is what I really want.

I'm 6'2 and my 1SS Camaro fits me just fine. I think you're right on point about the Camaro and the way it fits around you, I am absolutely connected with the car when I drive it and the Recaro seats add even more to that feeling. Another thing I'd like to add is if you think the car handles well now, put a set of 1LE wheels and tires on it. Night and Day difference. Its insane how well this car handles, takes turns and puts the power down. I drove a buddy's 2021 Mustang GT and it too is a nice car but to me the Camaro just feels better. The Camaro feels like your sitting in it, the Mustang kinda feels like your sitting on it.

I was a mustang guy, but loved the sound and handling. Fast Forward to 2022, kids all out of school, child support done....bought a 2022 LT1 convertible, vivid orange, with pearl white racing stripes. IT IS A DREAM. Did a pro graphene coating, garaged, will never see rain or snow. Head turner, have had so many people say they love the color..best part of having this car. Sunny days, drop the top and take the wife for a ride in the sun with the great sound system. I'm 53, but feel 18 again. Also, 3.9 0-60 blows the doors off some old hot rods... 🙂

I was recently considering a Camaro to add to the fleet because I just wanted to try something different. Ended up with a C7. Still want a camaro at some point as a test drive is never enough to really feel a car out.

I am a huge ford guy. Had my ford truck from 50k miles to over 320k miles before I finally decided to get something new. I ended up test driving a mustang gt premium and a 6th gen camaro 2ss. I ultimately ended up getting the camaro and I am so happy with my decision. I think the mustang had better visibility while driving, and I think it has a more aggressive look to it, but the way I felt when driving was so much better in the camaro. The camaro has nicer interior between the two "premium interior" packages which was important to me since its a daily driver. Also, the highway I was test driving the cars on had a very sharp turn that I was able to take much faster comfortably on the camaro which was my final deciding factor. If I was able to afford a zl1 or a shelby I would definitely choose the shelby over the zl1 all day any day, but with my budget I think the 2ss is better than gt premium.

I had the Camaro as 3rd on my list behind a Charger ScatPack and Mustang GT for a new toy. As soon as I drove the LT1, it was settled. I got my Riverside Blue 21 LT1 over a year ago and still love every minute of driving it. The best way I can explain it is to compare it to a custom suit. It just fits perfectly to me and I feel part of the machine. I agree with you, it feels like I am riding in it and not on it. The handling and power are so well balanced as a package. I just traded in my 2012 Mini Cooper s for a 2022 v6 Camaro Lt. I have wanted a Camaro for the last 10 years or so but I didn’t want a boxie style. Honestly I wasn’t even planing to get this car… it just kinda happened. Don’t know where my brain was.
My girlfriend went to the dealer to get my her car maintenance done. ( she has lifetime oil changes and tire rotation ) they didn’t have it in the dealers system that we got the rotations package for the tires so she asked me to bring the paperwork to show them. So I did.
This will be a 30 page store so I’ll cut to it…
I traded in my Cooper for the Camaro. Even with the v6 the Cooper was much faster and felt more like a go kart instead of an actual car. But this Camaro… oh man. So many visual customization options… I’m 40 years old and I feel like a teenager again. I’m making it my own. And I could only be happier if it was the v8 supercharged version. BRZ feels more precise and much lighter on its feet, whereas LT1 feels more wild / more “alive”. I personally find the LT1 to be really charismatic and far more fun on the street. On track I might choose BRZ because in that context, handling precision and light weight are more fun than power. LT1 is seems noisier inside due to tire noise from the runflats (which I will replace with normal tires when they wear out). Hope that helps!
