Mystery house was stunning 😍 however I can't help but wonder why a couple needs so much space, these were all family sized homes for children to grow up in

@zimpon I just don't understand why someone would want to deal with that much of a house when they are elderly, but each to their own I guess! I think it's wasteful personally to fill so much extra space with stuff when it is a home for two individuals. That seems to happen lots on this show though, maybe it's hard to move on from having a family sized house. 🤷♀️

Loved the mystery house - wow. House 1 was nice too - house 2 was just too narrow.
While you're asking the neighbors to cut down their trees, why not see if they'll repaint their house your favorite color and come serve you breakfast in bed every morning?

Of all the very good presenters on this series Alistair is always the best ,not pushy just very sympathetic to the needs of his guests ,and not going over budget !
Wow moving in only if the neighbors cut down trees and the local government let's you develop the land? Seems a bit of an ask. Most people are just happy to find most of what they want in a home.
I know I couldn't believe he said that, imagine asking your neighbour to cut down their trees and afterwards selling the land beside it for houses 😆 does he not think they'd probably want to leave them for privacy if nothing else 😆

The mystery house wouldn’t support chickens or bees due to have close the neighbors are. No one needs en suites for all bedrooms so that creates more cleaning work than needed. The second house is more doable if they change the game room into the master bedroom with the easy access to the full bath. Turn the dining room into a snug or office and just add a dining table to the reception room. Then the small bedroom upstairs could be turned into a family bath.
I housesit a lot and a few years back I was offered a housesit in the New Forest. Unlike most of my housesits, this one did not work out for me. After getting to know the extraordinary New Forest in this episode, I hope I will get another opportunity to housesit there as I am now fairly nearby once again. Tanya

House #2 is closer to what I'd like because I don't have a million pounds for 2 1/2 acres.

Asking a neighbor to cut down their trees? Really? Holy cow but these folks sound awfully much like Americans---and as I'm an American, this is not a bias but the truth about my own countrymen and -women. It's a form of entitlement that is unattractive. And Alistair didn't even wince. He's a true gentleman.
