I think most people overlook what this show is designed to do-it demonstrates that people have to determine what actually matters to them and meet that with what is available at the time and within a budget. Showing them 3 different homes demonstrating different “wants” helps in that process. It’s a sales tactic often employed with aspirational objects and it works very well!
I have been watching escape to the country for at least 8 years from America. I have yet to visit Great Britain but still hope to before I get old. Love from America.
I always enjoy this programme. Alistair is an amazing presenter, and comes across very genuine in his interest. The 2nd property was great, but the first thing I would be doing if I was fortunate enough to buy it, would be wardrobe doors! Where were they?
The sound of the raindrops falling onto the umbrellas starting at min. 6:40, so relaxing! I wish I could buy a home as nice as the ones shown in this episode, in fact, I couldn't buy any shown on ETTC. It's still such a pleasure to watch and one can dream... I liked them all, but #1 was my favourite, it seemed perfect to me and that view with the hills, ponies and donkeys too, plus that little outside room with WiFi and heating, amazing!
Such a delightful and very beautiful couple, the best of wishes to their family and the infanate trails and journeys that are before them. I've lived in mountains with countless lakes, have a family of five also, "chilren" all adults now, that trail running, swimming and Wintertime skiing has been our lifestyle for many decades now. We're from Lake Tahoe, western U.S...... I am sincerely excited for this families futre and the joy of thier creative choices.... Wonderful Also, I LOVE and so appreciate the beauty and history of the Bobbin segmentt, delightful. Thank you
I just loved to watch the 'Bobbin bit' and the manager Mc Callahan of the Mill, had a most lively Faceexpressions! Fascinating those Bobbins were sent around the World!
DAMN! Why are couple always shown SEMI-dethatched house when they've specified that the don't want neighbors too close by? You can't get much cloer to a neighbor than in a SEMI-dethatched house!
I have watched you for a long time and recently notice that you ask buyers what they want and need and then seem to continually show them property that does not address their requests. As a retired real estate broker this seems insensitive to the client.
I know!!!! It's annoying.. I think it's to sell for other agents..why would they do this??.. They always say they want to please the buyers.. And make it a point to find them what they want?????????
Good grief! What is it with this show. They push semi-dethatched houses on couple who specify DETATCHED and not close to other houses. I don't know why I continue to watch them they make me so mad!
Detached aren't that common in the UK (unless they come with masses of land, are tiny, or are remote). You can get detached but the prices are crazy. Semis are much more common and easy to find.
My guess is for a budget and requests for interior....they only have so many to choose from. I didn't hear them say NO SEMI!! Only open space at the edge of a community for the girls. Finding it all must be tricky. I loved this couple and Alister was understanding. All reasons I watch religiously ❤
Sometimes people can’t afford what their expectations are and often find they think they know what they want, when in fact, their priorities turn out to be something else.

The bobbin part was amazing.
We love Alistair, by far our favourite. His enjoyment of the bobbin museum was so refreshing ❤
He's a sweetheart!💯
Ah, Mr Simpering Prisspants. Stands like he's about to unzip and expose himself to passing children. Creepy. Call a cop

Love this show wish it was back on tv
Charming family
We made toys out of our old wooden bobbins, definitely.

Thanks for a full episode and perfect edit!❤ Great couple!
House no.2 was better than other 2 houses.
👍👍👍 Real full episode including end credits. Every episode of Escape To The Country should be of this audio, visual and editing quality.

Reading comments first i expected request for detached house yet that is not the case at all.
It's annoying. When I look to rent a place I give the agent if those basics aren't met I won't engage
Bottom line don't waste their time
Videos keep cutting out ..hope it stops soon please..Love this program
I'm not wild about any of the houses. #2 comes closest for me, but I'm not exactly in love with it.
#1 too small, #2 bad location - farm tractors would be very loud, #3 is charming, but no private yard to speak of.

She has CUTE hair!
Why am I no longer able to download your videos? No probs up until this one and now can't get them.

People in the USA now collect wooden bobbins!
no sound on Nov 18. 2023
Turn off do not disturb on your phone?
2nd house--no closet doors in the Master bedroom?? Yuck
She cut her hair mid filming!
OH THANK FUCK SHE DIDN'T CUT HER HEAD!
Old😢

In that area, with thier list of things they want, on that budget.....semi is more in thier budget
I've often wonder if it is really about selling the property on TV, and not to the clients. Seems a little underhanded, bait and switch.

Creepy "look at my crotch, kiddos" pose from Alistair Prisspants, as usual.
IT'S ONLY YOU WHO EVEN THINKS THAT WAY, WHAT A PERVERT
